I purchased my glasses here and within the first year, cracking of the lense showed along the outer portions. These are a polycarbonate material if I understood the technician correctly and this sometimes occurs but the tech said it was rare for cracking to occur. Those that know me, know I am almost anal about taking care of my things. Since it was less than 1 year since original purchase they agreed to replace the lenses. I walk out happy. Now just months later, it is again showing up. I called to discuss this and they wanted to replace like for like. I asked if they had the ability to replace the lenses with a more traditional safety glass type. This is where things fell apart. I feel doing the same thing and getting a similar result now for the second time made no sense. The tech couldn't answer my question on materials and said that I would get a call back from the manager. This was at 9:30 in the morning. Fast forward to noon and then later that day I called in, got only voicemail and no call back. Follow through, and attempting to find resolution apparently is not on their business plan. read more

It is a shame this optical lies to patients and says their medi-cal doesn't cover the lenses. They are taking advantage of patients who don't know any better. Patients are better off going to Walmart or Costco or another chain optical for better prices if they're going to make patients pay for the glasses read more

I don't recommend this place. I made an appointment here and during covid last year, they double, triple booked clients. I ended up waiting 40 minutes outside in the heat. Second, they hasten you through the process so there is no real customer service. Basically, get your frame, let me measure you and pay. There was no offering of anti-glare, blue light filtering, scratch resistance. Their basic lenses do not cover the basic things you would get, say, at Costco (which is antiglare, uv protection, scratch resistance). My head has been hurting for the last 10 months, too long to adjust to the new glasses. It's the lack of anti-glare. I made a mistake and ordered 2 pairs from these guys (one as a backup). They are useless for me now. I lost $200 and have months of headaches. Also, on the second, third and fourth visits to order and pick up the glasses, customer service was consistently way below average among the various associates there. They rush you out even if you are the only one there. I rarely give bad reviews because I tend to be optimistic, considering that it could be a one-off bad day for the business, but that is not the case here. You would save a lot of money and headaches getting the right glasses if you find a more professional place. read more

The worst condescending customer service ever!! The guy who helped me made me feel like I was there just wasting his time or asking for free stuff. Everything I asked he always made a remark of the high price with a tone basically saying I don't think you can afford it. I had to stop him and ask him to please not to treat me that way! My child has a severe eye condition. We called around to see who could get his glasses the quickest as they are much needed. We were promised not longer than a week. Since our insurance did not cover Savada Adamich we still went with them and paid out of pocket because they promised the week turn around. We are now on week 4 no glasses and keep being told another week we were told on the original promise date that the machine had cut the lenses incorrectly and when going through final inspection it was wrong so they had to re do. Now we are on week 4 and were just told now we have no time frame due to back order and his unique lenses. I would not recommend there are several others in the area read more

This gem of a place is awesome! I've lived in Redwood City all my life and my parents used to come this Optician to purchase glasses. I walked by it numerous times and never paid any mind of it. I recently went in for a new pair of glasses. I was specifically looking for a certain type and style. Although Roger could not get the exact pair, he searched high and low and found a similar pair. The service, knowledge of his inventory and helpfulness was beyond anything I have come across in an eye glass store. I could not recommend them more highly! read more

A friend recommended Savada Adamich to me a couple of years ago. My son has purchased two pairs of eyeglasses during that time. This week, I drove over from the East Bay and picked up my first pair of glasses. The eyewear selection is very good and the prices are reasonable to me compared to optometry offices. Well worth the time to travel 45 minutes each way. Do note that you can't just stop in...you need to call for an appointment. And, they do not seem to be open on Saturday or Sunday. read more

Three bucks and five minutes to replace a screw in a pair of glasses and have them tightened and readjusted. Not bad! Great local business that's been around for three decades. The only drawback is parking, like everything else downtown. read more

This was the first time at this particular Opticians and I was very satisfied both with the designs of the frames along with the overall pricing. The only issue that seemed a bit iffy was the service. It took forever for them to call me back and once I was in the store again, it took quite awhile before someone even approached me. However, service aside, the overall vibe of this business is professional with fair prices and a very nice stock of frames for all types. I suppose at my age I will need a new pair in a year plus so I am sure I will back at Savada Adamich Opticians soon enough. Try them, I think you will be very pleased. read more

You know I went here, knowing about their reputation, thinking maybe they were not the greedy greedy people I had heard about. Well, I was warmly greeted, had fun working with the young man, setting up my order. Using my own frames, great. Then I find my insurance covers for bifocals with the line. I show them some sunglasses I got that have the bifocal made differently and so there is no line showing or minimal line showing. They are wow, this is great! I say yeah! Everybody there wants to see the glasses now. Great thing I brought to them. Next thing I know they want to charge me extra for this idea I brought to them!!!! What?! You see my insurance, I am not working...I am your guinea pig! You want to charge me for this! You got to have this $25.00 even though I tell you that is my grocery money. I am on very limited income. They held fast to having to have that $25.00 The guy told me how sorry he was, the owner I believe, he was smarmy about it. I told him..Why I don't believe you? I've been going to Savada-Adamich for a very long time and I will continue to do so. They have a great selection of glasses, but it is the friendly and helpful staff that seals the deals for me. Over the many years I've been a customer, they have done their best, and quite successfully, to repair my broken frames, lost nose pads, and stepped on glasses. They are truly there to help you out and usually it is the staff's recommendation on glasses that turn out to be the best choice for me. read more

This place is the best! I took in my own pair of sunglasses to turn them in to glasses, and only took about 30 minutes. I was amazed that they only took 30 minutes and they made them fit great! Roger from Savada Adamich is a life saver for us. He is the most professional, patient, kid friendly, and the only one which cared about the best for our son and not how to make as much more money out of us. We came with our 3 years old, very active boy, after seeing 4 other opticians which recommended very expensive and unsaf glasses for him. Roger introduced us to Mira-Flex, glasses which are specialized for babies, kids and active. These glasses are the best fit and Roger spent much time making it the best fit for our son. I later called the other places and ask if they sell them too. They told us they do, but somehow preferred to show us only glasses which cost 5 times more and are not as good. We came back to Roger several times since then, either when our ophthalmologist changed the prescription - and roger changed it with no additional cost to us - or to check other models of mira-flex which Roger ordered especially for us to try. He is very accommodating and makes this whole ordeal a pleasure instead of a nightmare. We'll definitely come back to every further glasses with him. Thank you. read more

This place sucks!!!! A WASTE OF TIME. They advertise to be open for business on Sundays via appointment only which we happily made because of busy schedules. Then Sunday came and we headed to this place and guess what?!?!?! We get there and the place was closed!!! Locked up and nobody inside. Knocked on the door, tried calling them but no answer. So, we waited and waited and waited.... but NOTHING!!! Waited for almost an hour and nobody ever showed up. And there was another couple that showed up there for their appointment supposedly after ours and they got stood up too. Called the following Monday to see what had happened and they totally denied making the appointment and just offered to make another one. How do they book appointments for two separate parties and just disregard them. Did they not remember and just plain do not care. Maybe they just like to waste peoples time. I went here and picked a frame a while back. When the lenses were ready I picked them up and tried them on. Right away I knew they were to small for my head. Now there are no disclosure notices anywhere visible on tables or anywhere else that I saw so its buyer BEWARE here! If your not happy with your purchase he will tell you to buy another pair. My uncle was in this business as a fitter in the 60's and he told me Money is all they care about. So I asked the manager if he cared about his customers. He said sure.
