Great food and very reasonable prices, rhe ambience was just okay, but the service was unacceptable. The male server was openly rude and unprofessional from the start. When I asked for a recommendation, he responded with clear irritation and attitude. When I placed my order, he shook his head and displayed obvious negative body language, as if taking my order was a problem. This wasn't subtle--it was blatant disrespect. I addressed it calmly, and instead of correcting himself, he became even more dismissive and defensive. Thankfully, the owner apologized and was very kind. This is an authentic place! The Thai eggrolls were the best we've had! My very picky children got egg drop soup and corn dog, they tried my shrimp fried rice and said they wanted more. Green bean with roast pork or water grass with roasted pork. Fried whole fish w 2 sauces, lime and tamarind. Plain fried wings. This was my second visit and it was even better than my first! The flavors here are so incredibly craveable that I wish I lived closer. I got their lemongrass mussels, fried eggplant and beef lab. All 3 were delicious but the beef lab was my favorite. Its up there with the lemongrass wings which are a must order for me now. Hidden behind the name and Chinese food category, Woody's Wings N Things in Westminster, CO is actually uniquely a Southeast Asian/Cambodian restaurant. They carry a large menu including Chinese, Thai, Lao & Vietnamese dishes. But when you're Cambodian and far from your mom's cooking, you're beyond thankful that these guys are here. At first glance you wouldn't know, with the Woody logo, menu on their website, even the decor (there's at least an Apsara painting on the wall as some Cambodian representation). But once you page through their giant photo album for a menu, you'll find some unique traditional Cambodian dishes like Beef Loc Lac, Cambodian Sour Soup, dishes with lemongrass paste, etc. My favorite is the Tamarind Whole Fried Fish, I only wish the dipping sauce was made with tamarind paste, it's more of that sweet fish sauce we're all m familiar with at Thai and Vietnamese restaurants. But it still rings some nostalgic familiarity. Along with hearing the staff communicate to each other in Khmer feels like I'm dining with cousins. This place is an absolute gem! I have been coming here since I was like 10 years old and I never get sick of the food. We decided to keep it basic today and get the Cambodian soup and morning glory with fried pork belly. Everything here is perfectly seasoned and you can change the spice levels as well. I think the interior dates this place about 30 years with the mirrors and broken leather booths that have some spooty patchwork which definitely adds to the character of this establishment. What makes this place special, if I haven't sold you on FF&E package is the service is friendly, and confident in the cooking quality. We ordered a tom yum, pad Thai and stringed green veggie dish. This place gets simplicity and flavor profile right. All the dishes were appropriately seasoned and sized. The menu doesn't feature prices and has some weird looking photos but don't let that deter - it's all very good oh and homey. This time we went to celebrate our anniversary as this was the place we had our first date. To celebrate we ordered a feast! Woody's has great food in Westminster. It's a bit of a trek from Denver, but is absolutely worth it. We've never had a problem walking in from weekdays to weekends but it's not a big place so it can fill up fast. This most recent time we ordered Buffalo Wings, Crispy Wings, Sweet and Sour Fish, and Chicken Satay. The Buffalo Wings seemed a bit old and recooked, to be honest. The wings were cold but the buffalo sauce was hot. They were fine. The Crispy Wings were amazing! Made up for the lackluster Buffalo Wings. Definitely recommend this perfectly crispy and battered wings. The Sweet and Sour fish was delicious! Would try a the lime one next time. Chicken Satay was good! 4.5 stars. Two years later, I finally got to try more than just the wings at Woody's. To recap, I loved the pound of buffalo hot wings that my friend and I shared. They were SWIMMING in sauce. We didn't like the sides (fries and jalapeño poppers) we ordered at the time because they were dry and overcooked. I've since tried the Thai-style wings which were PHENOMENAL. Definitely ordering both next time I come here. As far as the Asian food, a friend and I shared some intestine soup, whole fish, and Singapore noodles. LOVED the Singapore noodles, though I wish there were more ingredients in the dish. Loved the intestine soup as well. Sweet and flavorful. I grew up coming to this spot located in an out-of-the-way corner of Westminster, and my recent visit reminded me why this is one of the most authentic Southeast Asian spots in the city. We visited this no-frills spot on a very busy weekend night for dinner and settled in for a feast. After a few cold Singhas, we delighted in my favorite fresh and zingy green papaya salad (reportedly some of the most authentic anywhere), tom yum soup, salty chicken wings, and a variety of chicken and tofu entrees. However, the standout here is their traditional Vietnamese eggrolls, served with noodles, basil, sprouts, and the best dipping sauce. Although the food is good, half the fun is perusing through their huge, binder menu, searching for the next best thing. Five stars for the spicy Cambodian soup alone. No, it wasn't spicy. I asked for spicy and this white girl wanted to get blown away, but wasn't meant to be. It's OK, though, because with the spice out of the way, the flavors were allowed to shine. It was so wonderfully sour with delicious morning glory and tender chunks of beef. The intestines add flavor, and if they're not your thing, you can easily eat around them. Just use em and lose em. The spice came with the cold Thai beef. Leave it to the Thai dish to bring the heat, even when the meat is cold. We order spring rolls, papaya salad, chicken wings, seafood lad na, pork belly with veggie & Cambodian soup. I got the lad nah & the flavor wasn't bad which I've had better. Their seasoning was dark unlike others where it was more clear. The chicken wings was a Szechuan which was flavorful & papaya salad had a good spice kick for medium. The decor was mediocre. Today my Sonand I wanted to go to Woodys wings and things. We have been going here for over 20 years. The reason we went was that they used to have a great reasonable lunch special. However, today they gave us a huge book for a menu that has the worst pictures and no prices. They used to have lunch for $8-$10. We ordered sesame chicken and egg drop soup. None of it was any good. The soup had all kinds of vegetables in it. I like it just plain with eggs dropped into the broth and nothing else. The chicken was dry and had very little sauce and the rice was nasty as well. When we got the bill it was $20.00. We did have an extra cup of soup but still i think that price is way out of line. You can buy chicken breast for $6.00 at the store and make it better at home. I told the lady about the lunch special prices they used to have. And she said no longer. I told her the meal was nasty and we wouldn't be back. So hopefully you won't go out of business after all these years for raising the prices easy too high and losing good costumers like us that have been coming there for over 20 years. Just wish they had a version of the menu online. Their portions are quite large and meant to be eating family style. CAMBODIAN SOUP - this is my favorite item on the menu. It's a sour and spicy soup with watercress, beef chunks and beef tripe. It packs so much flavor and pairs perfectly with rice. STIR FRIED WATERCRESS - I don't know how they are able to make a plate of vegetables so good but I always order this version as well, without the pork. It's saucy, garlicky, salty, savory. Also pairs perfectly with rice! FRIED RICE WITH SHRIMP PASTE - I've ordered this twice and it's been a bit inconsistent. But the first time I ordered this, it was probably one of the best fried rices I've tried. The shrimp paste added so much flavor to the rice. It was a bit bland the second time but I'm hoping it was just an off day. My friends have tried the fried lort, lad and, wings, and papaya salad and they all loved them as well. The food here is great. My family background is ,Thai and Laos, and Woody's Wings N Things has both cuisine dishes in their menu that taste great. Not only that, but out of the other three Thai fusion restaurants I've been to didn't have the same Thai spice and kick that should be there. Woodys absolute has that flavor and can up the spice level if you please. My family enjoys getting either the Pad See Ew or Pad Kee Mao if they don't feel like cooking. The name doesn't quite represent the cuisine here unless "things" is considered the majority of the menu being Chinese. The crazy part is that the wings here are not why I love this place, they are just okay in my opinion and the Chinese version of wings were super sweet, almost inedible. So I would recommend sticking with what they are really good at, Chinese cuisine. If you order anything Chinese, American catered or more authentic entrees, you will be more than satisfied. My favorite dish here is the sautéed Pork Belly with Green Beans, absolute gem. There's no other Chinese restaurant in Denver area that can match this dish. Let's just call the service authentic and at times uncompromisingly forthright but polite. The interior isn't something you notice or would care to promote, cafeteria like. The beef lad na had the perfect consistency and flavor. The stir fry paired well with steamed white rice. It was a very enjoyable meal and hit the spot after a long day of driving. One thing I thought that was weird was their menu. It was the size of a dictionary and did not list any prices. They could've charged us any random price but I'm sure it came out correctly.
