The Panang Curry is fantastic. The rice serving could have been larger for a dinner order but the flavor was fantastic. Ordered hot. Was spicy without being overpowering. Highly recommend. The Satay was decent. A little on the dry side but definitely not bad. The Gyoza were great. A note on service, they are not the fastest. When they say 25-30 minutes for a takeout order, expect closer to the 30 minute mark. I also was there on a Sunday evening so maybe they were short staffed but there was little touch on the service side. We drove about 30 minutes to try Beau Thai after stopping by the night before and seeing how busy it was. We made a reservation for 6:45 on Sunday, hoping to enjoy a family dinner, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When we arrived, several tables were still covered with dishes and glassware. Throughout our entire visit, the only employees we saw were one young woman and a man bringing takeout orders to the front. The young woman appeared to be handling nearly everything--seating guests, waiting tables, making drinks, and working behind the bar. We genuinely felt bad for her because she clearly needed help. Our drink order was incomplete, our water was never refilled, and it took about 40 minutes for our food to arrive. Although the dining room wasn't very busy, there was a steady stream of takeout and delivery pickups. At one point, a delivery driver returned because the order he had picked up was incorrect, so it had to be remade. I'm sure that was frustrating for him as well. The other employee seemed focused entirely on bringing takeout orders to the front and repeatedly walked past tables covered with dirty dishes without helping clear them. We ordered the crab rangoons, yellow curry, Thai basil fried rice with chicken, and two orders of pad Thai. The crab rangoons were the highlight of the meal, and the yellow curry was also very good. Unfortunately, the fried rice had almost no flavor, and the pad Thai noodles were mushy and lacked flavor as well. Our bill was also incorrect. By the time we left, it was nearly 8:00 p.m., and the same tables that had been covered with dirty dishes when we arrived were still uncleared. I never enjoy writing a review like this, and I genuinely hope the experience improves. The employee serving us was clearly doing the work of several people and needed more support. Between the long wait, limited service, disappointing food, and billing error, the experience put a damper on our family's evening. We probably won't return, and we're still searching for a great Thai restaurant. read more

I ordered delivery from this place for the first time. Food was great! I had the chicken drunkin noodles, Thai tea and mango sticky rice. Spicy heat just the way it should be. Usually when ordering from somewhere and you ask for hot, it comes out mediocre. This place bright on a good heat with the hot flavor. Noodles and vegetables were all cooked just right. Not overwhelming with sauce but just right to get the full flavor. I tried both the Thai iced tea and sticky mango rice for the first time. I would say that I really liked both. Only reason I could not give 5 stars is due to the chicken being a bit dry. I would definitely give this place another try. read more

Total disclosure - we drove to Tennyson and planned to stop into a totally different place (based on more amazing Yelp reviews) and had to pivot last moment. In situations like this, Yelp is amazing. I mean, it's amazing anyway and it's literally how we decide where to eat. We never skip checking the reviews. And like then, we pulled out the app, zeroed in on places near us and literally walked out one door, down a block or so and landed happily at at the bar inside Beau Thai. If you've read any of my reviews, you know I love the bar. This was no different and sitting there, you often see how things (really) operate. Beau Thia did not disappoint. They had a team of two running the entire front of the house - and without flaw. They were on point, friendly, calm and efficient. Super impressed. We shared plates, like we often do when trying a new place. We started with gyoza, added some green curry and also shared pad thai. OMG. Every last morsel we ate was so incredibly well prepared. Not too spicy but spicy enough to awaken your taste buds (medium spicy). Holy cow. I'm in love with the creamy green curry. My partner is a massive pad thai fan and love this as well. We came in because we couldn't get a spot at some nearby restaurants and there was a big football game on...they had bar seats and a giant tv with sound and it was perfect! My first time here I went with the staple pad Thai as that's usually a good barometer for the rest of the food. It was delicious. Perfectly spicy at medium. Partner had the kitchen fried rice which I expected to be boring, nope, it was also so flavorful! Brought some hot sauces to add too. Good Thai tea. I appreciate the simple menu. Beau Thai has become my new go-to Thai spot! We typically order three entrees for two people to get a good mix, with plenty of leftovers. I think their mild+ is perfect but appreciate the medium spice level when I am really looking for a kick! I have enjoyed every dish and appreciate their pescatarian offerings (shrimp and tofu as protein options)! Moved to the neighborhood a few months ago, and have eaten at Beau Thai many times since. I don't know how this place isn't full of a 5 star reviews. The food is consistently delicious, made with quality ingredients, and served quickly. It's the one of the only Thai places I've eaten where "Thai hot" means "Thai hot". As far as Thai restaurants go, it's a nice spot for a date with classy ambience. My only note on room for improvement is that if someone is looking for a varied cocktail menu, this place isn't it. Welcome Beau Thai to Tennyson! I have been eagerly awaiting this place to open... it finally happened and I was right to be excited. We had the Pad Thai and some Mango Sticky Rice. We stuck to the classics and they did those well! The atmosphere was great. Really love that the bar is right in front with all the windows of the retro style building. If you aren't into the bar experience, you can find yourself in the seating area tucked behind the bar. It's much bigger in there than I had expected! Beau Thai is *my favorite* local Thai restaurant! We love love the food, the atmosphere and staff, and literally eat or takeout here once a week . Their fried rice is stunning. Curries, delicious. Our go-to is the Panang. The stir fries have each been awesome. While it's not my favorite pad Thai in town, it's still nice. And I have Celiac so need gluten-free and even their tofu has always been safe for me(maybe not everyone) but for me every time, along with each dish they've made specifically gluten-free. read more
