The five star reviews puzzle me. Short version, this store has a limited selection, untrained sales people, two parking spaces in a low rent neighborhood, and higher prices. If I didn't need boots today, I'd have left. On the other hand, they were polite, the markup was tolerable, and I got the boots I needed today. Longer version, the sales boy asked what I wanted. Tall leather boots with a sealed throat to prevent entry of sharp brush and good grip for hillside work, probably a logger but preferably an engineers boot, definitely Carolina or Chippewa. He immediately showed me an all fabric low top shoe with extra vents, made by Wolverine. I explained again, he tried another Wolverine, vented cloth with leather patches. Turns out they mostly sell Wolverine shoes. Almost half the non-Wolverine models on display were leftover display shoes, not in stock items. If you're a size 13, hurry down. The sales boy not only didn't know what engineer or logger referred to, he seemed to not know the brands they do carry. He did ask my size, but no effort was made to measure my feet, I don't think they own the equipment. He also didn't know that sizes aren't consistent across brands and even some models. When they did have various sizes of my fourth choice (from the shelf in the store) he warmed to me and brought me shoes till I found a fit. Then they asked for forty bucks over the retail price. The manager would not match the price on their own website, claiming that the web price was for seconds or imperfect (not advertised). We settled at ten dollars markup, which I wasn't angry about. He's got a brick and mortar store and untrained salespersons to pay for, and I didn't have to wait for shipping. I'm sure I could have haggled for more; instead, I wrote this review. read more

So I live near a 7-11 and all these years I've always seen a billboard with this blonde chick wearing work boots next to it. I've always thought like "there's that sign" so random til one day my BF needed work boots lol. When he asked me if I knew of a place I thought, hey there's a billboard with this chick and it says workboot on it. So on a Sunday after work around 4pm I came here and was greeted politely. They have a pretty good selection of styles, kind of a boot guys dream, felt like I could easily take home 3 or 4 different pairs but today I was looking for something real specific. I needed a work boot that could double as hiking/outdoor flexibility. The store clerk helped me out and grabbed a shoe that fit perfect. They were very helpful but not too pushy like a big box store. This is for the north Hollywood location. I just outfitted my workforce (4 guys, lol) in new uniforms and was looking for a place to purchase work boots/shoes. We have a metal machine shop nearby. We deal with lots of oils and solvents on a daily basis. WBW has an excellent selection of steel toe, soft toe, waterproof shoes or boots to equip your feet for any work environment. Todd was the person who helped me. He knew all the right questions to ask to narrow down my choices. He helped size my foot properly. I have a fairly wide foot which limits my choices in comfortable boots/shoes. He was helpful in showing me all the boots/shoes that fit my criteria: super oil resistant, wide, durable, and soft insole for comfort. He went through all the details on why a particular boot construction was better suited for certain functions etc. even insisted on trying less expensive options. Best and most thorough customer service I've had in a "shoe" store. I later found out that Todd and his brother are the owners! He was working the floor just like everyone else and leading by example. The prices are actually cheaper than I thought and had the wide sizes IN STOCK. The place I bought my uniforms wanted $160-$180 for a pair that still needed to be ordered, no guarantee on fitment! I bought 2 pairs @ $80 each from WBW that were exactly what i needed. I have zero regrets. I highly recommend them for any boot or work shoe needs! Small price differences are only an issue in the absence of quality customer service. To me it doesn't matter how much cheaper I "might" be able to buy online or at an outlet 45 min away. The store has small parking lot but I think accommodate customer anyway cuz there is street parking too. I don't know the guy name but he was friendly and other staffs too. The place was easy to find. The parking lot will fit maybe 3 cars so you might have to park on the street. I was greeted immediately. The service was hands down amazing. I did not feel rushed or pressured into buying anything. The guy helping me was very knowledgeable with the products. I ended up buying a pair of $500 Boots (LTT Whites). I have a couple of pair from WBW that are 5-10 years old and are still in great shape. The pair from the on-line store are showing wear after about 6 months and are nowhere near as comfortable.
