    Classic breakfast
    Caroline P.

Came here at 10:30 on a Saturday morning and was able to sit right away. The service did take a really long time but the food was very quick. The breakfast potatoes are incredible and the bacon is really good as well. Lot of flies but that's just what you get sitting outside. Of course parking in North Park is very difficult, but I'd say it's worth it and we will definitely be back for lunch.

Working class is one of the best spots in 92104. The lemon pepper wings.... Ooo that seasoning will have you order more! I also love loved the summer salad with the blueberries, strawberries and slivered almonds! Service was phenomenal and prices were honest.

Working class is one of my favorite breweries in north park! I love their ciders and food! Their rice bowls are delicious as well as the cajun fries!!! Servers here are so nice and they always have the games on and trivia on wednesday if I'm not wrong. Be sure to time your arrival a little early on a game day or trivia just so you can get a good seat without having to wait too long.

Cute bar restaurant. You seat yourself inside, outside, or bar. Scan QR code for menu. Friendly staff and good food. Order the working class burger and fries it's delicious. TVs inside were playing the Padres game and then Soccer.

I came here with my husband, my brother and my dog. We had been just down the block at a rescue charity event and we knew that we wanted to get something to eat after we had passed this place after we parked our car because Northpark parking is an actual nightmare anyway we came. They had lots of room on the back patio with a picnic tables. We sat down and we got a couple of beers and we started with some chicken wings and some chili fries. so wings were great and the chili was a little too bean forward for me, but the boys liked it. I just love Texas style meat chilis. Food was really great. My husband and I got what I would call fancy burgers with you know extra toppings like blue cheese or barbecue sauce and he can't exactly remember which ones we got but my brother was more simple kind of Smashburger. Basically their basic cheeseburger, and that was the favorite of the three to be honest sometimes simple is better.

Love it here! I stopped by with my pup to grab breakfast during our morning walk, and everything was great. The food is amazing and fairly priced. They have a digital menu, and once I sat down a server greeted me right away and brought out water. There's also a spacious back patio with plenty of seating, though I chose to sit out front. Like most spots in North Park, you'll need to find street parking, but this place is absolutely worth a stop for breakfast.

We came in for the $14 Tuesday burger deal that comes with an alcoholic beverage! It's the best deal around every Tuesday featuring a new burger. Our server was quick to take our order and bring out the extra condiments. This week the special consisted of green beer for st. Patrick's day! The outdoor patio is perfect for larger parties. You're also able to bring pets which is a big deal for us and our son!

The husband wanted to try a new spot in North Park and we found this place, we did show up early as soon as they opened to make sure we grab setting for a party of 10. We had no problem finding sitting outside. I will say about an hr into opening it got pretty busy. The food was really good, fresh ingredients for sure. Our kids ate all their food with zero complains. They have a good beer selection, and they do have different seltzers and hard ciders on tap. Definitely kid and pet friendly

Great atmosphere! Staff was very friendly and attentive. I had the hummus plate, it was great hummus and nice and hot pita bread. I also had the Reuben Sandwich. The meat was savory and the sauce instead of sauerkraut was perfect. I'm visiting from Tucson. My dog Bindi and I were welcomed and cared for. I'd go back!

Good food, good service and great bar ambiance. You can have dogs outside in the back patio. Bar food is good. I have the wet peach spot wings. They have good deals in Monday's: $1.25/wing. Only issue is parking but on a weekday you should be ok.

My husband and I had breakfast with my in-laws at Working Class on a Friday morning. We opted to sit outside at the front patio to enjoy the weather and people watch. The waitress graciously provided us some physical menus so my in-laws didn't need to navigate the QR code and online menu. Between the four of us, we got two orders of "standard breakfast," chicken and waffle, and "the day off," which is the standard breakfast plus biscuit and gravy. With our various orders, (including a particular request for one egg sunny side up and the other scrambled in the same order lol, and a lot of extra sugar packets for coffee), the staff were very accommodating and our food came quickly and prepared exactly as asked! My husband's chicken was on the drier side while my house potatoes were slightly too salty for my taste, but overall we enjoyed our visit and were happy to bring leftovers back to enjoy as a snack later.

I had the chicken n waffles and he got this really good burger

Ask the Community - Working Class

Do you have a Happy Hour?

We sure do! Monday - Friday from 3PM - 6PM. We offer $5 draft beers (most of them), $6 wine and $2 off our appetizers/starters.

Do they offer mixed drinks or only beer?

Hey Ashley. We are beer and wine only!

How busy does it get on a sunday?

Hey Kendra, We open at 9AM on Sunday for breakfast. We are generally most busy from about 11AM - 1PM. You can always give us a call prior to coming in to ask about the wait if…

Hi do you take reservations? I am looking to book something for 8 people on Sunday 2/13 around 12-1pm.

    They do not take reservations

Are there tv's and direct tv for Sunday football?

Yes. We have the NFL package. TVs inside and on our back patio!

Where are you supposed to park here? We drove around for at least ten minutes and just gave up...on a Wednesday night.

Hello! There is limited parking on 30th.…

    Is there happy hour?

Yep! I think weekdays from 4-7pm It's $4 beers and $6 starters. Also Monday is $1 wing night and Tuesdays is $15 beer, specialty burger and fries night from 6-10pm

Are you guys currently doing dine in?

Hey Monica! Thanks for reaching out. We are currently following county and state guidelines and operating take-out only. Our Yelp, Instagram and website will be updated once this changes!

Are dogs still allowed on the patio during this COVID era? Thanks!

Yes. We’re back open for dine-in and dogs are allowed on our front and back patios. Cheers!

How is parking? Looking for place for work function but would like easy parking for everyone.

North Park parking can be pretty tough depending on the time and day. Nights and weekends are the worst, however there is a parking structure two blocks south, located at North Park Way and 30th St for a very reasonable rate of $1 an hour.…

What time does the kitchen close?

Our full menu ends nightly at 10PM. We do have a late night menu that ends at midnight!

Is there anything gluten free friendly on the menu? I understand it's not a gluten free facility and there may be cross contamination. Thanks!

Good Evening - I'm sorry but I can't really answer that question, but I'm sure if you stop by and speak with the owners or manager, they might surprise you and make a special "gluten free" dish for you if they don't already have one in their menu.…

How late do they allow kids? Asking for a friend lol

Hey Cali, We don’t have a time limit for minors with their parents.

Do they accept dog in patio?

Yes- we've seen quite a few out there!

    Is there AC?

    Yes.

    Are gift cards available here?

    Yes

Are there heaters on the patio?

Yup! If they aren't on, just ask and the staff is happy to oblige! :)

Is the dinner menu available for lunch?

No, I don't think so. When I was there they had a BREAKFAST/LUNCH menu but it was time restricted. But the DINNER menu had a selection of breakfast items available.

Next to the bar were large steel tanks containing suds that were brewing. The menu was available as a QR code at each table, but the hostess was kind enough to also provide a hard copy. Ten food items and five drinks were listed on the happy hour menu. Appetizers, salads, entrees, desserts were the categories on one side of the main food menu. The other side displayed the Sunday brunch menu offerings. I selected the Vegan Crab Cakes and the Chicken Karaage from the happy hour choices. Two panko-crusted cakes were served with a furikake aioli and a lemon wedge. They were smaller than a hockey puck and didn't have a crunchy exterior. The karaage was made up of several fried chicken pieces served on a bed of haystack potato with an umami drizzle. It was one of the most unusual and skimpy presentations of karaage that I have seen. The fried potato sticks were more of a distraction than a complement to the chicken. The service from the bartender was good. There did seem to be an abnormal number of houseflies buzzing around the dining area, especially after my order arrived. The value for the food I tried was subpar. I gave an overall rating of three stars for my latest experience at Kairoa Brewing Company.

These were simple and tasty! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=MNPhs0rRUcmQN9R2TR1GRg SERVICE We were warmly greeted by the gentleman behind the bar. As we approached, he gave us a quick rundown of their beers, provided a lunch menu https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=KPlmFDBCfFp_62TrxdXVtg which was perfect, and he allowed us time to make our decision. Soon enough, we placed our orders at the bar, given a table number, our drinks were ready in seconds, and the food came out in less than ten minutes. We were checked on and gladly ordered more drinks and food while our table was cleared. Everything was awesome - cheers! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance): We found 90-minute street parking behind the brewery next to the library. Otherwise, there appeared to be spots along the main drag of University Ave., all of the surrounding business streets (read any posted signs), and paid parking in the Bank Of America lot directly behind the brewery - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE An open layout https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=FRumK_MW4Qyy7Dvrh2BcHw with the bar/order counter along one wall, many communal benches and tall tables inside and on the sidewalk patio, stools at the bar, brewing tanks in the background, and an interesting tractor https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=mOeDNVgE68ZDUrvuIS_c2w on display. Plenty of natural lighting entered through the large front windows and doors while an assortment of electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were several TVs throughout while I couldn't recall any background music. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL We enjoyed The Original 40 Brewing Co. and would plan another visit to try more of the over 20 beers on tap. The two beers I had were good but didn't stand out while the food was wonderful, the prices were a tad high, and the service was straightforward. Furry family members were allowed! I believed they had happy hour specials and almost certain nightly entertainment such as trivia, music, and more was available. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $55.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

The guy pouring was so nice and knowledgeable. We liked the wine so much we grabbed a bottle and decided to drink it there. Added bonus: since it was one of the featured wines, the corkage was free. Bottlecraft is a bottle shop, bar, and cheese shop all in one small, perfectly curated space. They have a lovely outdoor seating area and some indoor seating as well. There are TVs inside, so we were able to catch some exciting March Madness moments while we hung out. When we paid, the host was super friendly and brought us a little ice bucket to keep our chilled wine cold, along with two glasses, and let us choose any table we wanted. They have a wide selection of beers on tap, plus tons of bottles and cans to go. I also appreciate the large section of canned mocktails and NA beers -- love seeing that. They carry wine, beer, vermouth, and more. In the back, tucked away, is Venissimo Cheese, which is amazing. You can order cheese plates, sandwiches, and other goodies to enjoy with your drinks. Definitely check out their website for upcoming events and their current tap list. Such a fun, easy, local spot -- I'll be back.

It's especially nice that they have beers from a lot of small business breweries. My guy and I got a bunch of different beers to try and they've been a hit or miss overall. I haven't tried the cheese shop yet that they have inside, but it's a great concept and on my list to try!

If you're expecting average bar food, this isn't that…read more I went to Encontro in North Park and everything felt a step above what you'd expect. It's a casual spot, but the food leans more chef-driven and thoughtful. We started with the breadsticks and truffle butter simple, but really well done. The crispy portobello mushrooms were one of my favorites, super flavorful with a great texture. For drinks, I had a margarita and a bloody mary, both solid. For mains, we ordered the tri-tip sandwich (aka "Cardiff Crack") and the chicken sandwich. The tritip especially lives up to the hype really tender, packed with flavor, and easy to see why it has that nickname. Dessert is what stood out so much . The butter cake comes warm with ice cream and purée, and it was easily the highlight of the meal. I took a bite and just paused for a second it's that kind of dessert Overall, a really good spot if you want elevated comfort food in a laid back setting. I'd definitely come back, especially for that butter cake and tritip

The entrée menu is decent -- nothing too out of the ordinary -- and pricing runs a little high in my opinion. But the atmosphere is lively, they're dog‑friendly, and the patio area is a nice place to sit if you want something casual and comfortable. Overall, a decent option if you're looking for a sit‑down American restaurant in North Park with good happy hour bites and a fun, busy vibe.
