We love it here :) we always get the smoked salmon salad, secret menu fries, beer , & playboy martini. The service is always great. Those are so good we always stick to it but one day we will venture off our usual in the menu. Perfect for watching games, catching up with friends , chill vibes all around.

Who knew Fat Tuesday would have special po boys! It was super tasty and filling. I love fried pickles and ranch but their chipotle sauce or maybe thousand island was even better. I love FairPlay for their food already and they've got a fun atmosphere with booths and all their tvs to watch the games.

I am genuinely shocked. I have yet to make a review for the spot. This is not my first time coming to this location. However, my most recent trip to here was to watch the USA versus Canada Olympics gold game. The game started at 5:10 in the morning, and I knew this spot would be open to allow people to watch the game with others. This place was quite packed for such an early game. I give a huge appreciation shout out to any of those workers who have been there to open up early so that certain games can be watched. They were able to start serving food early in those hours, but of course serving alcohol cannot start until 6 AM. I definitely recommend this spot if you are a fan of sports. They are pretty diligent in showcasing a variety of sports. They even have on their Instagram a TV guide that they post what sports games will be shown throughout the day.

Great beer list with a great staff. It's my first time here and I noticed a very clean bar and tables as well. It has great ventilation with fans keeping it cool inside.

Fairplay's happy hour rocks. I love popping in here before or after tattoo appointments. These were the best fries and wings I've had in a while - and who doesn't love self-serve sauces?!! Also, must note that this draft Paloma is an excellent one! I enjoy the ambiance here more when it's not full of sports fans, since I don't enjoy sports myself, but no complaints either way. ;)

Rolled thru on Sunday evening for chili cheese fries. The place was empty with only a could people finishing ng off their weekend. Ordered from the bar to-go. They give you pager and you pick up at kitchen window. Chili cheese fries half order were solid. Fries were fresh and crisp, chili was chili, cheese sauce was not the best but it's what I wanted, so it worked. I want to return for sports viewing and a few brewskis.

This quickly became one of my favorite options to watch sports. They post the games they'll be showing in their Instagram and they host lots of watch parties. Usually, if there's a game you want to watch, they'll find a way to put it on. The food is really great. As a pescatarian, they have a lot of really delicious options! Their fries and ranch are some of my favorite in North Park (and that's coming from a Michigander)!

Came to watch SDFC play. It was packed. The crowd was rowdy (in a good way) and it was a good time because they brought the energy. We ended up staying a bit after the game and it was the complete opposite once everyone left. And so I think if it's not a game or a big event or a Friday night because the lines to get in are always ridiculously long..I wouldn't necessarily come. This place always seems to be packed starting around 7pm on weekends and continues into the night and I'm guessing it's for the drinks because the food isn't that spectacular. There was 3 in my group and we had the typical bar food stuff - nachos, burgers, wings. All average to below average. I did not feel like it was worth spending money here for food. Drinks were fine. You order at the bar. Menu is on the walls in case you don't want to be staring at your phone. They have hoppy beer, nitros, light and then a few beers under the label "other" which are ciders, international beer, kombucha etc. and of course they have bottled beer like coors light and non alcoholic. If beer isn't your jam, there are some fun looking cocktails which are relatively cheap. Only about 11 dollars. You can sign me up for those prices anytime! Because it's packed, finding seating is always and adventure. Having 3 in my group made it difficult because it's an odd number. You just gotta keep your eyes open and move with the quickness. Be prepared / be open to sharing space with others. Overall. I think it's a bit overrated. I experienced it and feel like maybe I'll come back during a party night but I wouldn't necessarily be running back here.

I was in the area and decided to stop by. The bartender was really cool and helpful. They have lots of tv's so definitely a good place to watch a game. The drinks were good and my grudge liked their food, so I'd probably be back to catch a game.

Stopped by on a friday for happy hour (2-5pm) and loved it! Tons of space & TVs - the kiwi strawberry tea seltzer + the mini corn dogs were delish.

Service 10/5 stars. Everyone from the people behind the bar to the kitchen are incredibly friendly every time we come in. If you want to come for a main event, get there early. It can get pretty packed in here. They post their tv schedule on instagram which is super convenient when you're scouting a place to watch a specific game. Their food is consistently delicious for bar food. Highly recommend the pastrami sandwich, fish and chips, loaded fries, and breakfast burrito. The only thing missing from here is a happy hour, but they've been doing fine without one. Dog friendly as well!

    Pastrami (so good!)

Lots of big screens invite you in off the street, but the chill vibes, cold drinks, and tasty food keep you here. This is a great place to watch a game, catch up with friends, host a work happy hour, or pregame before a show at the observatory. The pastrami sandwich was on point! tons of meat and a spicy kraut that makes my mouth water as I type this. My friends got the chicken sandwich and smashed it so quickly I don't think they were breathing, just full on devouring. Bring 1 or 100 of your friends and have a good time here!

Our bartender Mike was great, and may Mai Thai ($14) defiantly did what it needed to do. It was sweet, strong and served with the cutest bear-shaped glass with a beautiful purple flower on top. One drink had a girl feeling tipsy. We ordered from the late-night "midnight Bites" menu, which was the only thing we could choose from at the hour of our visit. Everything we selected was really good. Wed got the Frito Pie ($12), Chicken thigh tenders ($7), and Tots ($7). The frito pie presentation was my second favorite part (after the bear glass drink), It came in a all-clad style bowl with the chip bag cut open inside, loaded with Texas-style chilli, melted nacho cheese, and shredded cheese. It was so good I even started adding tots in there too. The tots and Thigh tenders had the perfect crisp! They have sweet and sour chili sauce for dipping with the chicken which was fab! The retro decor made the place even better. I loved seeing the old Blockbuster VHS tapes and music cassettes displayed around the bar. My little eye also spot the Dallas Cowboys flag! Texas energy is definitely in the house. There's also a small arcade area in the back, and my eyes instantly lit up seeing PAC-Man. We didn't get to fully explore the game room because we were trying to make it to Ghirardelli Ice cream & Chocolate shop for dessert before they closed at midnight too. Thankfully everything worked out perfectly since our car was parked right in front of Ghirardelli. NO military discount was honored here even though the owner is a veteran, but overall I still had a really good experience and would definitely come back whenever I'm in the Gaslamp district in SD, Cali. When I entered the restaurant around 7:00 PM, I was stopped and questioned extensively by security regarding my service animal. Rather than being asked the limited ADA-compliant questions permitted by law, the interaction became prolonged and uncomfortable while staff repeatedly attempted to determine whether my dog was a "real" service animal or simply an emotional support animal. I remained waiting at the entrance while this was repeatedly discussed back and forth. What made the situation especially humiliating was that another patron openly laughed at me during the interaction while walking outside for a cigarette. I later realized this same patron had her own dog inside the establishment in a stroller the entire time. Staff members appeared very familiar and comfortable with her, and multiple employees, including my waitress- referred to her as a "regular." Although her dog was eventually moved to the patio area, the contrast in how the situations were handled made me feel singled out, embarrassed, and unfairly scrutinized. I later spoke with management in hopes of resolving the matter respectfully. During that conversation, I was surprised and concerned to hear that neither management nor staff were familiar with psychiatric service animals or their protections under the ADA. Psychiatric service animals are legally recognized service animals when trained to perform disability-related tasks, and this lack of awareness was deeply concerning, especially in a city like San Diego with a large disabled and veteran community. I fully understand that businesses are allowed to ask limited ADA-compliant questions regarding service animals, and I also understand that many establishments have dealt with individuals falsely claiming pets as service animals. However, there is a significant difference between appropriately verifying a service animal and making a disabled customer feel publicly interrogated and humiliated. The overall handling of this interaction lacked professionalism, sensitivity, and basic understanding of ADA service animal protections. No customer should feel mocked, scrutinized, or publicly embarrassed simply for entering a restaurant with a legitimate service animal. I sincerely hope this situation can serve as an opportunity for additional ADA education and proper service animal training for staff moving forward so that other disabled guests do not experience similar treatment. I would appreciate being informed of any steps the restaurant intends to take regarding ADA compliance and staff training before I determine how I would like to proceed further. Thank you for your time and attention.

The burgers are truly out of this world--juicy, flavorful, and expertly crafted to ensure a warp-speed experience with every bite. You'll find that each dish is prepared with precision, as if overseen by a skilled chef with the abilities of a Vulcan and the passion of a true culinary Starfleet officer. In conclusion, Nicky Rottens is a prime destination for anyone seeking a vibrant atmosphere, stunning views, and a solid meal. I can confidently say that if you ever find yourself in Coronado, this establishment is a must-visit. After all, it's just one small step for man, and one giant leap into deliciousness! Aside from that, they're generic normal tasting tater tots. For the burger, I liked the bun and other ingredients, but thought the savoriness of the meat was just okay. Also, can't say I'm a huge fan of the tiny lettuce whenever I see it. Overall, this joint is not bad, but I can think of very little about it that stands out. I don't feel that it fully leans into being a sports bar or dive bar or even as a burger joint. It's just.....a bar. Apparently, it prides itself as being an original coronado spot, but I didn't get that kinda vibe here. I don't know.

Thank you, Jesse; we truly appreciate how wonderful you are. The cleanliness of this bar is impressive. Plenty of street parking even for a 1pm game start! Unlike places like Gaslamp, PB, Hillcrest I was pleasantly surprised! ADD 1 STAR Great outdoor seating area both covered and also out in the sun. Huge outdoor screen for the game too. Plenty of other tvs around the bar! ADD 1 STAR Plenty of water stations to help keep you hydrated! Even dog bowls for your 4 legged friends! ADD 1 STAR Staff were friendly and welcoming and always came around to clear our table. My only issue was the food. I was so disappointed in the smash burger. What's up with smashing the bun into a hard pancake both top and bottom bun? I've had better tasting smash burgers but I can get a better one at Jack in the Box and for $10 cheaper. It was so underwhelming I didn't even want to take a picture. The tator tots were awesome! Perfect crunch and spice....so flavorful! The women's bathroom is a little strange and quite frankly a waste. Two toilets set up side by side like how urinals are. This only works if 2 close friends are in there. They could easily make this 2 stalls and keep lines to a minimum. So 2 toilets but really just 1 women's bathroom.

Whether I'm popping into the Golden Hill spot or making a stop while visiting friends in IB, the result is always the same: consistently great pizza and zero regrets. There's something about walking in, scanning the case, and immediately deciding you need at least two slices--ideally completely different, because why limit yourself? Our go-tos? The White Girl and the OG Crime Scene. Both are standouts for very different reasons, and we somehow convince ourselves every time that adding a "new slice for research purposes" is the right move. It always is. The crust hits that perfect balance--crispy, chewy, and sturdy enough to handle all the goodness on top without falling apart mid-bite (a true art form). One of the few crust I eat from end to end. It's casual, it's reliable, and it delivers every single time. We've been loyal to the slices so far, but the rolls and other menu items are calling our name--so safe to say, we'll be back soon with more "research" and another review.
