I needed up with a pair of skis and boots for around 250 which was great. The lady that helped me out explained the difference between alpine, XC and touring skiing and the advantages/disadvantages. I ended up going with XC skis cause of the low price to entry point. I'm glad I didn't read the negative yelp reviews before going here, as I found the shopkeeper to be very honest . I did buy one pair of ski pants that were a little speedy for me, but I'd rather support a brick and mortar from folks with good values that eBay or Amazon . I do need to point out how great they are at assisting folks even when super busy. When I came in there may have been 30-40 shoppers in the store, they assisted everyone with the same enthusiasm and professionalism. I'm also new to skiing and asked at least 50 or more questions before my purchase, they never became testy, short tempered or irritated with me. And the shopkeeper knew so much about skiing. Maybe I was amazed cause I'm a novice but I feel like I'm ready for the snow now, thanks again I'd give this stores solid 9.7 out of 10, thanks to the people here.

Not only friendly but also super knowledgeable as well. Yes they know fishing but they are very localized as well and know the lakes and rivers around here. Their recommendations have always been on point and never disappoint. Store is well laid out with massive selection of whatever you can think of outdoors. Prices are usually very fair but the big draw for me is their Cabela's club membership. Love earning points and special deals for club customers. I would highly recommend this location for all that it brings to the Treasure Valley!

The two that worked the counter are adventure athletes themselves. The guy I spoke to is an avid long distance mountain trail runner. He was not just knowledgeable about the Stio gear but also How to use the gear. By comparison, I stopped by the Arcteryx company store in SoCal. Sadly, the Canadian brand appears to have ventured far from the their rugged roots. The store felt elitist and pretentious. Stio is the opposite. Same quality without the stuffy atmosphere. Stio is the Anti-Arcteryx brand you want.

Now 4 months later it has turned into a nice red stain on the sidewalk. There is always dog poop smeared all over the sidewalk. Probably from people not picking up after their pets, then it gets stepped in and tracked everywhere. Lastly, there is usually a plethora of trash in their planters. Old masks, bottles, cigarettes, etc... I let the employees know about the vomit right away and a month ago I sent a note to their customer service but obviously they don't care what the outside of their store looks like. I cannot vouch for their products. They seem nice. But for a store that sells jackets for $700, I would think keeping the outside of the store as nice as the inside would be a priority. I guess not.

The huge corporate stores love to do that to the smaller stores like Big 5. Big 5 is a better store, but of course they don't carry as much. Their prices are certainly better and makes happy this location hasn't been forced out because of the giant Dicks (lol) right next to it. There's a Big 5 minutes from my house too, so I go there more. Dicks is across from the mall so if I am In that area I may think of going in, but like I said, this was the 2nd time in 6 years that I've been in that store. I bought a Nemo tensor all season, long wide sleeping mat from there used gear selection in store…read moreabout a week ago and I got home and was very exited to try it out and test it. So I pumped it up and just made sure it worked fine and was comfortable. I pumped it up and it didn't hold air after about five minutes and I went to return it and they said that they don't take returns on their garage sale items even though my item was defective and nonfunctional they really screwed me out of 160 dollars. I can't believe they didn't check the items to make sure they worked before putting them on that return shelf.
