Unfortunately, the weather had other plans and it started pouring right when we were heading to walk over. We struggled to find an Uber/Lyft/taxi and ended up arriving late to our appointment. We felt absolutely terrible. When we arrived, the gentleman at the front desk initially was trying to reschedule us because we were late... Thankfully, Lydia and Amarii were still there and were kind enough to fit us in anyway. We were SO grateful. After a stressful day at my conference and the chaos of trying to get to the salon, the experience completely turned our day around. Lydia did my haircut and Amarii did my cousin's, and both were fantastic. They made us feel relaxed, listened to what we wanted, and gave us beautiful haircuts that we absolutely love. As an Asian woman, I have never felt so disrespected and discriminated against at a business. I had a confirmed appointment at 11:00 AM. Before arriving, I called ahead to let them know I would be around 25 minutes late, and they said it was okay. I arrived at 11:38 AM, meaning I still had plenty of time, as the stylist's next appointment wasn't until 2:30 PM--a full three hours later. I have had this exact service (bleach and tone) with the same stylist before, and it only took two hours. But instead of working with me, they outright refused to see me, even though I was already there and willing to compromise. I offered multiple solutions, including blowing out my own hair to save time--but they refused to even let me speak with the stylist. The front desk staff was cold, dismissive, and completely unwilling to communicate. The worst part? They charged me the full amount without telling me. I repeatedly asked if they were only charging the deposit, and they lied and said yes. I later discovered they had secretly taken the full payment. When I confronted them, the owner had a terrible attitude--no apology, just an arrogant claim that they would refund half "out of courtesy." But I received no service at all--not because I didn't show up, but because they refused to serve me. I was literally standing there, trying to negotiate any solution, while they dismissed me completely. They never once tried to work with me--it was me begging them the entire time. This is not just about bad service--it is clear racial discrimination. They had the time, they had the means, but they chose to deny service to an Asian customer and steal my money instead. This salon is racist, dishonest, and completely unethical. They take your money, lie to your face, and refuse to provide any solutions. DO NOT support a business that treats customers this way. Avoid this place at all costs!

They aren't as great as when I first had them but they're most definitely still lifted so nicely. The experience when you walk into the Trump tower is refined and elevated so of course the salon vibes were the same. I really appreciated my hair stylist, how they give you a robe to wear over your clothes, offer refreshments, etc. I intentionally chose this salon because I have color treated hair and wanted a refined blowout. The experience itself was honestly 10/10. Where my frustrations come in is the longevity of the results. My hair looked so beautiful immediately after my appointment. What I did notice during the appointment was the stylist was using L'Oréal hairspray. And honestly I didn't think anything of it because they're the experts but as I was walking back to my hotel after the appointment and glanced at my reflection in the mirror, I was shocked to see the curls had almost completely fallen out! And also my hair was frizzing up quite a bit. This is my frustration: environment: trump tower + luxurious experience + great view + Anthony Cristiano name + $110 blowout cost (before tip) does not equal L'Oréal hairspray! This equation does not add up. They use R + Co Shampoo and Conditioner which is what I would expect for a salon of this caliber but I must admit I am quite disappointed with the longevity of my results. I really thought I was going to have this beautiful , unfrizzable, elegant soft curl look that lasted the whole night but by the time I returned to my hotel my curls were gone and by the end of the night I had frizzy straight hair. Again, I think my frustration is because of the caliber of this salon and the fact that they used drug store hairspray and I had to ask for my flyaways to be tamed prior to leaving. All that to say while the experience was lovely, my closing feeling is disappointment as my results were quite lackluster. Perhaps for hair services aside from a blowout they do an exceptional job but this was not it. If you have a lot of fine hair that frizzes easily , this may not be where you want to get your blowout. So I'm just taking a chance I went to Ronnie at VOUS salon in the Gold Coast. He was so kind he took me. He cleaned up all the mess that she had left me and my hair is perfect. I just got home showered and re-blew it to make sure that the cut was what I could work with... I was immediately greeted by the truly most kind and warm person in the City of Chicago, Gino DiFranco. Sicilian by birth, his demeanor and kindness immediately changed my mood. (We all know the Irish are moody, eh?). After getting to know each other over a doppio espresso, we got down to the reason for my visit, my botched, lopsided haircut. Gino told me, "Don't worry, I will make your hair look great" and proceeded to clip my hair with impossible precision, and an improbable pace that I believed was not sustainable. 35 minutes later Gino DiFranco of Sicily had created a great Irish masterpiece of a haircut on my oversized Celtic head. Alas this masterpiece would require maintenance, so he re-booked my for 4.5 weeks out.
