The only real issue I had was they put small price tags on items behind the counter so most items its impossible to see the prices unless you ask. Looks like this business expanded, took a risk and brought back the old school feel of an Arcade with the updated credit system to pay. Lots of retro and newer games here that will attract kids and parents to hang out. Prices were ok but it's to be expected when they pay lots of rent in the mall. read more

I went to world 1-1 Games on the evening of Friday, 11/22 and the gentleman and lady at the counter exceptional. He let me grab my few boxes out of new cases of Yu-Gi-Oh when stock called for it. I cannot recommend you this store. They do everything to catch your eye and make you feel welcome but that's really to blind you from the overs they get on every single customer that steps foot into this place. Every single retro gaming item is overpriced. I understand a local shop has to find there way to get by but I just don't understand why they do not bother to compete with fair prices. Instead they price gouge at very unrealistic and completely unaffordable prices. My personal experience was when I brought multiple GameCube discs in for a resurfacing, due to there self proclaimed high end resurfacer machine I couldn't help but try and restore some faulty gamecube discs (MIND YOU I DID NOT EXPECT A 100% successful fix rate) Knowing how hit and a miss these are when it comes to resurfacing (also the fact I traveled 30 min just to get here) I told the employee to not only test the discs after resurfacing but that I would only send in one at a time to see if it would fix my issue. Let me explain I believe I was taken advantage of in this situation because after sending one disc in, the employee came back joyful and claiming that the disc in fact was able to read and play once again. Trusting his word i than sent in the rest of the discs for repair. Mind you I was charged 5 bucks per disc, 3 total. After running the discs the employee claimed they all were restored and were able to play once again. I couldn't wait to get back home and try the discs out and see for myself, it was a nice car ride home. Once I got home, I quickly tested the games only to find out I WAS COMPLETELY LIED TOO!! THE EMPLOYEE COMPLETELY AWARE THAT IF THE FIRST DISC WASNT RESTORED I WOULD NOT SEND IN THE OTHER ONES. INSTEAD OF BEING HONEST THIS GREEDY PLACE LIED TO ME JUST TO PUSH A SALE WHERE I PAID FOR REALISTICALLY NOTHING. THATS WHEN I CAME TO THE REALIZATION THAT THIS IS A VERY FAKE AND GREEDY STORE!! Wow! Talk about a trip down nostalgia lane! I completely came upon this place serendipitously as my plans for a central coast trip got curbed due to inclement weather. However, nothing could prepare me for this place! It had so many gaming collectibles, retro video games and consoles such as the NES, SNES, Dreamcast, and other retro consoles! The sheer amount of stuff here was staggering and made nerdy heart content with glee! My jaw dropped even further when I saw arcade cabinets like Marvel vs Capcom 2, Ultimate MK 3, and Street Fighter: 3rd Strike! I could have spent hours here, but I came to the mall to go see a movie at the Regal Cinema. It was so awesome! My only complaint with this place was that it was a bit pricey, yet it came with the territory! Some rare, sealed games and consoles are gonna cost an arm and a leg. Sure, you could probably find it cheaper on a site like eBay, but here you know what you are going to get is going to be legit! Plus, the owner, was super friendly and helpful! Oh, and they had video game soundtracks playing throughout the store--- another plus for me! Anyway, this store is one of the coolest retro video game stores I have ever been to--- period! Amazing arcade! One of the biggest I've ever seen, with a huge variety of games. Redemption in the front, but a great mix of classic and modern, and a fantastic pinball selection with a big range of new Sterns and rare Sega/Williams classics. It's pure manipulation and blatant greed.The game store and arcade pay license fees to cartoon copyright holders, a normal business practice, but then raise prices beyond belief.The arcade is essentially a permanent traveling carnival midway of games. Many are fun to play but those that promise to reward skill are designed so that collecting enough points for a big prize is a fool's errand. The more someone tries to win a prize, the worse the bargain.The most pathetic "game of skill" is the cubicle with a metal claw controlled from outside to grasp a stuffed animal, the most popular game for small children. The claw is too weak to hold anything heavier than dust and little kids leave disappointed after an early lesson in graft.Although the arcade has large fans for ventilation, they don't remove the smell of traveling carnival. read more

An incredibly fun place to go and browse if you're into video games of any era, but especially if you're a child of the 80s/90s and were a video game person in your younger years. Incredible selection of stuff you recognize, stuff you had, stuff your friends had, and things you always wished you could have had. And now that you're an adult, ya know what? You can have them. Sure, I bet you could save a few dollars if you bought it on eBay - but you never know what you're going to get that way. Then you have to mess with return shipping (if they take the return) and you have the dice roll of the thing not even working. Staff were super helpful to assist me in finding a copy of Gun Smoke on Nintendo - they had just gotten it on a trade - and polished it and made it look brand new before handing it off to me. Now they've got some awesome arcade cabinets in there too as an added bonus. Great store, great staff - just go and support these guys. read more

This store is great! I bought "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker" and it was $40. It is around $30-35 online, but I'd rather buy it from a store for insured security. The store had so many games, and around 7 copy's of the game I got. There is arcade machine near the back, which has many game consoles, and around 5 or 6 Nintendo 64s. I recommend this place to everyone who like Games new or old. I wish I could give this store more than 5 stars read more

This is my fiance and I's favorite store in the area. We've followed them through their last 3 locations and are always excited to watch them grow. They have games we haven't been able to find for YEARS. Sometimes I feel like crying because of all the nostalgia I feel whenever we go in their store. The prices are very reasonable. You're always going to find a better deal online, but that's true with any retail store, not just World 1-1. I worked in retail for years and there's no possible way to price match the internet and keep a physical business running. Regardless, we've been in situations where we have been low on money but REALLY want a certain game, and the people who work here are always willing to trade and give you credit towards the purchase. This was such an awesome find today while walking in the mall. It literally made me feel like a nine-year-old kid. They even have working classic arcade games that anybody who grew up in the 90s would love to experience all over again. The staff is super friendly. And you can tell they take pride in what they sell. If feels so good seeing families bringing their kids and having them pick out games for old game systems that they can play now with their own children. This was a great treat. I have a large list of games for multiple systems that I'm trying to collect, and these guys had just about all of them! Ended up picking up several things for my NES, Genesis, Gamecube, and even the Saturn! This place has it all -- old and new school games and consoles, toys, knick-knacks, playable arcade cabinets, and everything in between. The selection is huge, the prices are fair, the location is good, and the customer service is friendly. I'm glad this store isn't closer because every week I'd be spending what little money I have there! I must've drove past this place 100 times and never noticed it. It's hard to see about 50 feet north of Fesler st on Broadway. Parking is a little bit of a problem. It looks really small from the outside but there is multiple rooms stocked full of games and consoles from Ataris to PS4. A little bit pricey for used modern games. If you're looking for a newer used game you might want to hit up the chain store. But if you're looking for a hard to find game or something from the 80's or 90's I bet they have it. They have memorabilia of all the games , lots of retro gaming. If you are a game enthusiast you should go here at least to look around. It's really like a museum. read more

Being an enthusiast of video games, past and present, and being a retro video game collector myself, in Santa Maria there never really has been good options, either out of the city or through craigslist and such. I walked into the store and it's like you step back in time to the good old days of Funcoland or Blockbuster, the theme of the store is very well done, and it's about time Santa Maria got a store like this! The prices are fair to market value, but as a collector I can say there is no fun to buying online and hoping the game works and is in the condition the seller says so. Immediately upon walking in music from Final Fantasy 7 is playing lol. Way to set the mood haha, guy in charge of it is knowledgeable and friendly, easy to talk to. Had an issue with a Pokemon DS cartridge, my DS wouldn't read it. Messaged him, said I could bring it back to swap it. He took the cartridge, cleaned it, and tested it out on 2 different DS consoles to make sure it worked, and it did. And he STILL gave me the other game cartridge for added assurance. No paying extra and I was out the door as quick as i was in it. Great game library, lots of old school and indie RPG's. Check it out if you have the time. read more
