T One downside is that since they have so few walk-in customers, you can't get in to the parts area without waiting for one of the phone support people to break free and walk you over to the parts area. Another down side is that much of their shelf stock is very old. Spray cans of solvent may be half-empty from can leaks, and electrolytic aren't necessary going to be fresh. But with components like fans, relays, transformers, resistors, etc. that won't matter. They also carry hand tools, tool cases, heat-shrink, solder, connectors, adapters, plugs... just a lot of other stuff to create and repair electronic projects. Their pricing is not particularly cheap. The people working there (mostly in cubicles doing phone orders) are very nice.

I asked if I could be helped at self-checkout and was told I had to use the main checkout lane. I then went to the exchange/returns counter to see if they could assist, but was again told no and directed back to the same long line. This was confusing, especially since I've been helped at both self-checkout and the exchange counter in the past. I understand that there are policies in place, but the current setup doesn't seem efficient or customer-focused. It would make more sense to allocate staff where they're most needed, especially during busy times, to better serve customers and reduce long wait times. Because of this experience, it honestly feels more convenient to shop online rather than deal with in-store inefficiencies.

Long story…read moreshort, I contacted PHANTOM to rehabilitate a new stereo install ( from another shop ) that never worked from the initial install , and was an electrical hazard and faulty. That stereo shop in Simi Valley ( Discount Stereo ) totally screwed up my car with an install as well as causing a couple grand in body work damage as a result of negligence and refused to repair their work or remove all the equipment and refund the money. The Phantom team had to go through the entire install + replace some defective hardware, correct all the wiring, remove the ( literally ) fried wires in the engine compartment, etc....
