Visitors are not welcome! This place may be good if you live in Ukiah and if you're a member, but other than that, you have nothing coming. My daughter and I are in town for a week, looking for a place to mostly lift weights. We got free passes from our hotel. We were super excited to use our passes and pump some iron. We visited twice today, one to take a tour and make sure it was okay, the second time to workout. Both times the place was super unfriendly. We definitely got the case of the cold & prickly. We never saw a single smile in the whole place, either from members or staff. Everyone in this place looks like they sucked on a lemon. Maybe it's because we're outsiders. I got the definite impression that they didn't like our passes. We came the second time to workout and we were informed that my daughter couldn't workout because she's under 16 (she's 14) and not covered by their insurance. A staff at the front desk of our hotel snitched on them. One star is the worse rating I could give. I just checked out (12:30PM) the Main Street location to get some information, and the guy at the front desk was an idiot. Not only did he not know what an erg machine was, or what type the gym had, he was rude. Before I had a chance to finish asking my questions, he interrupted, and I had to tell him to calm down, and allow me to finish asking the question. This place is a scam. They make you sign a contract for a year to pay too much for a basic gym. I left the area before my year contract was up and attempted to call and email them to cancel early (even with the cancellation fee), and they never responded. I called several times in the past months and the phone would just ring without going to voicemail. Finally, today they picked up and informed me they would need a letter to cancel the account. I requested they consider refunding me for the months I've been attempting to cancel, and they refused. Go someplace else. They just want $$$ and to get you hooked. read more

Friendly staff, doable prices for the options they give and the niceness of the facilities -two different facility options, one is a more typical weight lifting style gym and the other a more functional fitness style - I workout at the function fitness building so my review is of that building. It is always super clean and neat and tidy, not overly busy, plenty of weights and options for working out, easy to access 24/7 with door card, good temperature in the gym, good video surveillance for safety and decent parking options. The bathroom is small and isn't amazing and the lockers are a little junky, but I don't use lockers anyways. One negative of the whole World Gym is that they don't really have options for any short term membership - the shortest they had was 9 months or else you pay cancelation fee and there was no willingness to work with anything it was super strict policy. This was the only bummer as I was needing a 6 month contract and there was no budging for that aspect, however they do consider first responder/medical staff status and give a nice discount which made the cancellation fee worth it. Highly recommend this gym if you are in town and want a membership that is 9+months long. read more

So I needed a gym to go to while I was in town for the holidays. World Gym is a pretty well known name so I decided to start here. Paid $50 for a week pass which was almost double what I pay for a whole month back home. Even though I had signed a waiver I was only allowed to go during staffed hours 10am-1, 2-7pm. I showed up a little before 10am and was told to leave and come back when staff came in. Waiver released all liability no matter what time it was. Why not just let me in considering you're staff and you are here. This place is a rip off. If you're an avid gym goer don't recommend this place. read more

I just did a free trial of this gym today. This gym is very big. The dumbbells go from 5 pound sets up to 110 pound sets, which is a plus. However, there is only one set of each. I went after work and there were about 30 people in the gym. Today wasn't arm day for me, but if it was, I'm not sure I'd want to wait around while people are taking turns using dumbbells. There are only two flat benches (and a third incline one, which didn't appear to be able to be set flat, as far as I knew), and way too many machines, in my opinion. I wish there were more free weights instead of machines. I'm hesitant to make this gym my go-to gym because of this. The bench press was my favorite exercise back in high school, and one bench was missing a barbell. If I wanted to use it I had to go to the equipment with the overhead barbell to use it for the flat bench. And there didn't seem to be any collars for the barbells, which has me worried. One gym goer wouldn't let me use one bench, and was instead texting on his phone. But of course this has nothing to do with the gym. Just wish there were more free weights because you know most gyms will have these sorts of people. The staff member was very friendly. I asked him three questions, and he answered them in a friendly manner, and explained everything very well. He was able to direct me to the machines I needed, or show me how to use something, since I haven't been in a gym in six years. I'm not terribly familiar with deadlifts and squats, but there seemed to be only one squat rack, and perhaps only one bar for deadlifts. I did these exercises (I can't remember all the names off the top of my head): bench presses, inline presses, farmer's walks, lat pulldowns, hanging from a pull-up bar (there were two), tricep extensions, rear delt pulls (machine), pulls for my mid back (machine), lower ab curls, reverse cable flies (to target upper, mid, and lower chest), etc. If I remember correctly, the $50~ enrollment fee is waived if you have family members who have a gym membership. There is a certain amount of money you have to pay every year for equipment fees. Then the gym membership itself is about $45 a month, which sounds very expensive. The friendly staff and decent amount of equipment would make me want to go to this gym, but the lack of extra pairs of dumbbells and benches is why I did not give this gym five stars. I happen to sign up for this gym right before it closed due to the pandemic, so I don't have too much experience actually using the gym. It was okay, though I wasn't too impressed with the holes in the walls and the equipment that had tears in the seats. My complaint with their customer service. They do not respond to emails or messaging through their social media. They changed their phone number and have yet to update their contact information on any of their websites or social media, so it is impossible to call them. I went in to cancel my membership and there was never anyone working during their stated manned hours nor was there ever a note on the desk stating when they would be back. If you don't care about customer service, this place is probably fine for you, however, if you ever want to talk to an employee, I would steer clear from this place. read more

If you're looking for a friendly place to workout and feel good about yourself with experienced employees and trainers... this is NOT the place to go. I've had a gym membership with these criminals for a year now and decided to close my account with them due to hidden contract fees, random charges in my card and just plain overall rudeness from the staff. My membership was up in September so I went in in August and filled out the papers to not renew my membership. The big guy at the front desk told me I would be charged for the full month of September since I didn't come in before the 15th of August (understandable... Honestly at this point I just wanted to be out of their contract), he said nothing about a charge in October, which I was charged for. Today when I called, the other guy that works there told me that in my cantract it states that I could be charged for two months if I do not cancel before the 15th of the month. Bullshit. I asked to make an appointment with the owner and he said he couldn't do that for me so I then asked when the owner will be in next and he said he didn't know. just sounds like another shitty business owner of ukiah ripping people off and not wanting to take responsibility for their disgruntled customers. Out of every company I have ever done business with, this one has been the the worst. They have issued countless hidden fees to my account so much so that I had to let my my bank account go to the collectors agencies. The integrity of this company is non- existent and i have never dealt with a more rude or dishonest sales staff. I felt like i was bullied into a contract which i later found to have hidden parameters. The "manager" of this particular establishment is one of the most rude people I have ever met and I feel like he will say or do whatever he can just to get your money. I moved to Ukiah for a couple years. This place was by far the best (equipment wise) always clean and open 24 hours a Day. I was quickly accepted and always treated well by both the amazing staff, owner and fellow Gym patrons. I highly recommend world Gym to anyone trying to get a work out.
