I had not been here recently and it was nice to see so much fresh seasonal merchandise. I had seen something online that I needed to buy as a gift for a granddaughter who will be 9 when we see her next month. The picture online looked perfect but the staff member was unsure of the exact location and gave us three suggestions. We found it on the first one as I thought that was most likely given my previous visits in years past. We did check her other suggested options but none seemed as right as the one I had seen online. While looking though we did run into an impulse buy chocolate option but sadly discovered at home, not as good as the product it was copycatting and I regret the purchase. Lesson learned yet again, get what you came for with research in advance. It's a big store with lots of options for specific sorts of goods, but quality varies by departments. read more

Hot cookie tip for you all this holiday season: Cost Plus is selling a sprinkles/decorating kit that closely resembles a gourmet competitor's, only it's about half the price. For $12.99 you can get some candy cane and tree shaped sprinkles, along with blue shiny ornament balls, and some other fun decorations. They also have a Hello Kitty miniature version for about $8. Looking elsewhere at fancier food stores this season and you'll pay at least $20-25 for the almost the exact same thing! Plus, World Market has icing and some cute cookie/gingerbread kits if you're not one to make everything from scratch. Also, it gives me an excuse to browse the aisles and buy other stuff I don't really need. read more

I purchased 6 dining chairs and 4 bar stools when I remodeled my kitchen in 2022. The chairs are completely wrecked and no one can sit on them--the webbing has mostly disintegrated and doesn't properly hold weight. I reached out to customer service and they told me their warranty is only one year. There is nothing I can do. I spent well over $1500 on these terrible chairs and there's no service to assist me. Shame on them. read more

This is a pretty fun place to find that unique gift or to simply peruse. From rugs to imported candies there is sure to be something for everyone. On this particular occasion I was in search of some hot sauces I'd received as a gift (alas I have almost devoured all 6, or maybe there were bottles). So glad I found them!!! Saw so many boxes (some were MASSIVE) of holiday candies and treats. The cute little marzipan piggies were my favorite (which reminds me that I've been meaning to look up if it is pronounced 'mar-zah-pan' or 'mar-zee-pan'). Also noted loads of holiday decorations and several varietals of Stollen breads. I've given this establishment 4 out of 5 stars as I didn't receive a greeting or any acknowledgement from the staffers. Bottom line - If like international treats (I.e. burdock root soda, European kit-kats) I recommend checking here as I noted the prices to be more favorable than on Pearl street. read more

I ordered some bar stools $300 a piece after searching forever for stools that were the right dimensions. I finally found them at world market and ordered them. When they arrived, I built one and immediately realized the dimensions were a little off from what the site said. They needed to be returned. Not a huge deal, but when I called to ask them the process (since I had ordered online and assembled one) the "manager" was so incredibly rude to me. He was acting as if I was doing something wrong. Or trying to do something sneaky. He kept stating to come in and "we will see". As if I was somehow lying. Craziest power trip ever. When it comes down to it, this was a pretty big inconvenience to me and I was understanding and nice - I simply wanted to return so I can continue my hunt for the right size stools. Considering I have spent a ton at this store on outdoor furniture and other decor it was a huge bummer because I really have no interest in shopping at a place that is managed by someone that rude. Moving on but what a lame experience. read more

Still one of my favorite places to go, because they have a great selection of everything from housewares to decor to food. When I don't want to drive extremely far or out of the way to find ingredients for a recipe, Cost Plus World Market is the place to go to get what you need to make a delicious meal. *Each store also has slightly varied selections, but the one in Boulder does carry a good amount. Enjoyed visiting the Boulder World Market today (after lunch at Aloy. Their layout is different than the Fort Collins store, but the same general merchandise. Friendly staff, and they were handing out samples of some chips, flavored waters, and the famous "Slap Yo Mamma" hot sauce. I enjoy that sauce, but I'd feel a little too close to starring in a Dateline episode if I actually bought it. read more

Meh. Although I like this place I wish it was better. I wish the quality was higher or the prices were lower, either way would work for me, I'm not that particular. I used to think of it as a cheaper Pier One rolled together with a more expensive Trader Joe's. I got the last part right anyway. I have to admit though, I like being able to get the goodies I fall love with overseas, like Digestives or lavender candies, back here in the states. I like some of their art, linens, pottery but the quality just doesn't support the price; I'd rather go across the street to Pier One where the quality is better. The one thing I rely on World Market for thought is stocking stuffers and Christmas ornaments. They have lots of tiny food stuffs that are perfect for stockings: mini summer sausage, mini honey jars, mini balsamic vinegar, small packages of assorted truffles, eggnog mix. They have a unique assortment of Christmas tree ornaments that you really don't see other places, and they are usually priced about right. The parking lot is really tiny and busy so be careful pulling in, I'd guess they probably fender-benders in there pretty often. read more

In my opinion some of the best furniture for the price and the integrity of how it was made. When I first came here to Boulder I had nothing and this place had me coming back to pick more and more items despite being more of a minimalist. This place has everything to fill a nice home including some exotic, interesting food items you wouldn't normally find off the shelves of a typical grocery store. The staff is very helpful and attentive and it doesn't hurt that I always get emailed discounts for being a member. I'd come back here if my place needed a little more style. read more

Totally "heart" it. Sometimes I just go there to look at stuff. Makes me feel close to home since they have fabric, furniture , accessories from India. I love the rugs, odd baskets, the curtains, the grocery from different parts of the world. It is slightly overpriced for the quality of the products. So I always use a coupon. There is seriously A TON of cool stuff here. If you're ever looking for an odd appliance or some unique flavor of ginger beer, this is a great place to try. Some items can be on the pricier side, but other items (like wooden cooking utensils) are decently priced. It's worth a look to price out what you're looking for. You may be surprised. As far as inventory goes, this store has a bit of everything. They have sodas and dry goods, flatware, cooking utensils, and even furniture. We buy a lot of our wooden cooking spoons here. We also found a brand of ginger beer that we like. Oh! And they have sushi mats for $2! (Making your own sushi is tons of fun! You should try it!) Apparently they have a rewards club you can join that gives you a $10 credit on your birthday. I haven't signed up but would expect a lot of email marketing to come along with the $10 'gift'. Parking is fairly accessible off 28th street, although the parking lot can get quite full during busy hours. Staff is nice and can help you locate product if you're struggling (ours was literally right in front of us... embarrassing...). Give it a try! You're sure to find something cool. read more

Ah World Market.... what would I do without you as you are the only local supplier of Vegemite (although very $$) and other Aussie delights in the food section. I go here when I need a fix from home and want to slather some Vegemite on some toast to aid a hangover. Really great variety and quality of furniture and decor. And I've found that their customer service is great. Dylan was super helpful when I was interested in a handful of items that seemed to be all in different corners of the store. One item was the last pendant light that required him to take it down from the display. He was thoughtful about ensuring I had all of the appropriate hardware to hang the light, showed me matching chairs for a table I bought, and whether or not there would be enough room in my car for some of the larger pieces I was interested in. He even came to the parking lot to help me measure my car! He really went above and beyond. read more

In short- don't buy people presents here unless you also provide a receipt... here's the back story- Overall there are nice things here that I like with their global style and all that. My mom knows I like the store's style so when she decided to buy me a few nice LITTLE (costing no more than $6 each) gifts, she went there. She specifically left the price tags on so I could exchange colors, scent, etc. and I went in to the store to do just that... The check out gal could do nothing for me without a receipt or my Mom's phone number (had she registered it, she did not). Her reason? I could have stolen them and now am looking for money.... She pointed to a return policy specifically stating an item I had to exchange was listed as one that required a receipt. Upon realizing the item I had was not actually on that list, she fumbled with some words and concluded it did not matter, she required a receipt anyways. And then she continued with- this is the policy of most stores to prevent theft. What?!? Really?? I think that changed around 2002. I replied with, well that is not really true- they issue a merchandise credit for items they know came from their store.... This is one of a few times the customer service at this store, in particular, has been questionable to me. There was that time. Bought a table that was missing every single nut, bolt, and screw that took weeks to get in. Or the broken soda bottles packed in a janky container and then DROPPED by same employee who just looked stunned, apologized, but could not exchange for unbroken ones.... Avoid the Boulder store. But I felt like I had to write a review of this particular store because of the service my husband and I experienced this week. The store manager, Jen, went out of her way to help us and we really appreciate it. Colorado, and especially Boulder, people are so great, but she really went above and beyond. This is absolutly my favorite store. I grew up in Europe, and was ecstatic to find many of the gourmet food items that I remember from my childhood. Their furniture is also amazing. The quality is high, and the prices extremely reasonable. I have seen the same dining tables at Pottery Barn for 8 times the price. I was able to furnish my entire living room for under $1000, and it looks beautiful. This place was such a lucky find, and I go in every couple weeks now to stock up on Heinz Baked Beans and check out all the new merchandise. read more

I go to Cost Plus primarily for the food, though on occasion I've bought some of the decorative items. I am cheap, however, so I try to time my trips for when I have a World Market Explorer coupon (it's free to sign up and you get occasional $10 off $30 coupons, as well as the opportunity to earn savings certificates). But yeah, I do make it out there once every two months, probably. read more
