6/29 came in prepared to purchase stone for my wall. $3000 worth of material btw. I should have known better when I parked and the sales guy was sitting in his car smoking. I kindly Asked To be shown material and if he could supply me a price. Sales person John says they had all prices but what I was requesting. He seemed very unorganized and wasn't sure where things where. I said that's a shame I wanted to make my purchase today. And I would if he was prepared. He then Became rude and said that it's not his fault. And then said to stop "busting his balls" he then became vulgar and told me to F*** off! I have never been treated so rudely by a sales person. We got hooked up with World of Floors when going through Costco to get our floors done. We wanted to get the old and ugly tile and carpet ripped out of about half of our house and replaced with something new and modern. Mike at World of Floors recommended a Shaw laminate product to us after we told him we wanted water resistant floors. We were assured that this Shaw laminate would fit the bill. The tear-out started in November 2013 and our floors were not complete until July 2014. There were may reasons as to why this took so long: - Not enough laminate ordered at first - Shaw laminate turned out to be an absolutely terrible product that chipped easily and swelled at the slightest taste of moisture (we had to take Costco up on their 100% satisfaction guarantee and get the laminate removed and replaced with Shaw Resilient vinyl planks) - Baseboards damaged during tear-out and not re-installed properly In summary dealing with World of Floors was pretty terrible. However, with enough prodding by Costco we were able to finally get a rather nice end result. Our new floors look great and the baseboards destroyed during the tear-out are back to normal. read more

I searched all the carpet stores in the Brandon area and World of Floors was my pick! Jamie provided excellent customer service and explained in detail about all the different kinds of carpeting and what would go well with the room we were having carpeted. Great prices and he even let me take large samples home with me for several weeks. Great customer service! I'll definitely be back! Highly recommened! read more

I am a former employee of this company, and If I were you, I would stay away from them. Some of the employees do their best, but owners don't care. They will gouge you for floor prep after the installers have removed your existing flooring. I had one customer that was charged 25% of their order to do floor prep. They do this on their own without telling the salesperson. They told the employees and a customer that they fired an installation crew only to see them installing two days later. This crew is the owners son. They believe him over the salespeople and the customers! I sold a customer the best wood glue available and was told to substitute a cheaper version. I wouldn't do it. I was fired after having a very good month. I was given no reason for the dismissal. That was two months ago and I still have not been paid my commission. They lie and do underhanded things all the time! It is a shame really, they have a great showroom and a great location. Most of the customers I had while I was there were very nice. Please stay away from them!!! read more

From start to finish it was great! Jamie helped my wife and pick out the right flooring for our needs. The installation was also a smooth process and Robson was great! Carpet prices were great and installation went very well. The salesperson was a bit rude and curt. Didn't listen well to needs for vinyl flooring. Made derogatory remarks about another company. He did not make me feel comfortable at all and did not have a sense of urgency. read more

The final product was good, but the process was painful. The sales person was rude, disrespectful and totally unprofessional when a conflict arose. He wanted to install the floating floor underneath our new kitchen cabinets, which should never be done. In addition, he didn't listen to what we wanted. They installed the subfloors with as large as half inch gaps between the walls and subfloor, which required two gallons of floor patch for this owner to correct. The one bright spot was Jose B. who finished installing the floor. He did an excellent job, listened to what we wanted, and showed a relentless work ethic. Final grades: Salesman F, subfloor installers D, and finish installer A. read more

Excellent quality carpet and installation. My complaint lies solely with the sales rep, Michael Hunt. First of all, he kept pushing me and my husband toward polyester styles that had "great warranties" and that were "great deals" even though I had said I was interested in a nylon only carpet. Secondly, when he came to measure the rooms, he measured in a way that is probably a tried and true way to scam a person into buying more carpet than they need. For example, if the room measured 9 x 11 feet and the roll of carpet was 12 feet wide, he measured out that we needed 11 feet of the carpet instead of 9. My mistake for not noticing it before I signed off on it, but come on! I had told him that we were already over budget with our higher quality choice of rug, and then he measured in a way for us to pay too much on 2 rooms out of 3. I estimated the overcharge to be about $500. The carpet is a speckled frieze by the way, with no distinguishable pattern. Buyer Beware! read more

My family surprised my grandmother for Christmas with new carpet for her home. We arranged the whole thing with Jamie, who was fantastic to work with. I gave him a few details on the style that my grandmother likes and he was able to take her right to a carpet that she loved. I was amazed at how easy and fast it was to make a carpet choice and do all the paperwork. The installers did an absolutely fantastic job! My uncle is a master carpenter himself so he inspected the work when the installation was done and he was very impressed! The furniture was handled with care and they even helped her do a little redecorating when putting the furniture back together. My grandmother is so thrilled with the new carpet. She just can't stop smiling! read more

We just had laminate floors put in our entire condo, including the foyer and stairs along with a vinyl type flooring in our kitchen. We got 4 estimates on the flooring and labor and decided to go with World of Floors in Carrollwood. We worked with John McAllinden and he helped us decide what to buy in our price range that would best suit our needs (we have a dog and cat and our condo is 2 stories). John was referred to us by a friend who got her hardwood flooring at World of Floors and she spoke very highly of John and the installers. I was dreading the removal of the carpet and the installation but there was no need for that. Everything went very smoothly and the installers were fantastic! They were careful in moving all of our furniture and were very courteous as well. Jose was in charge of the installation and one of his workers in particular, Leo, was great! I would highly recommend World of Floors and especially John McAllinden if you are in the market for new flooring. read more

We stopped by WoF in Bradenton. They were very helpful and had very competitive prices. We ordered from them and placed our deposit. A week or two went by with no word. We called and were told to call the distribution center. We did and were told the product we chose would be back ordered for two months. Sigh, I think they should have called us to let us know. We waited the two months with no word from WoF. We called and were told the flooring was in and they could come the next day. The installation crew showed up on time and did a great job. Sadly, some of the items were the wrong color so the work couldn't be completed. We were told WoF would call the next day to schedule completion. Nothing for days. We called them, they had to order the right color. They will call next week. Once again, no call. I called them and they did get it installed that week and the floors look great. I wouldn't have given them a low rate at all had they just kept me informed. It takes a 10 second phone call to let people know what is happening. read more

Sales staff was very helpful before the job. The quality of laying the tile was fine. But the care to prevent damage to baseboards and walls was unsatisfactory. If I had known that tile layer was not going to take proper precautions, I would have ensured baseboards and walls were protected with painters tape. But tile layer was experienced and I assumed he would take the proper precautions. But he did not. Additionally, the dirty brown grout water was discarded on my outdoor rock garden rather than in the dirt. Rocks was stained and I had to re-rock the entire garden. After the job was completed, I had to clean up the stained baseboards and wallpapered walls. Some of baseboards had to be repainted and I even had to paint the wallpaper to hide the brown stain. Luckily wallpaper was white and I was able to spot paint. Company offered to to send someone with a sponge to clean the baseboards but they did not look at the damage and I don't think they realized that it was a big job to clean all of the baseboards. Plus, furniture had to be moved away from the walls to get to the baseboards. Company did place a few bags of rocks over the stained rocks but they did not match. If you contract with this company, ensure that you take the precautions to protect baseboards and walls and do not rely on the tile layer. read more
