We went to Solvang for a wedding, which was unfortunately on the same weekend as the Danish Days. This is how we ended up at Worldmark instead of a regular hotel. Everything was very nice. Unfortunately, I did not take pictures before we prepared for the wedding, but we ended up with a two bedroom suite which was very nicely furnished. This is a great place to go if you want to spend a couple of days in this beautiful area with the family. The kitchen was completely supplied, there is even a gas grill on the balcony. Check in and check out went very smoothly, and staff stayed in touch via text during our stay. Parking spaces are ample, and the hotel is in walking distance of the main street that has all the yummy bakeries.

Birds are chirping.  The air is cool and fresh.  It's quiet as a small town should be.  I enjoy a walk in the morning as the Danish bakeries open.  I love the smell of fresh pastries in the morning. I always stay at the Worldmark Solvang when visiting Solvang.  This time I got here around 4:30pm and the front desk gave me 2 options.  I picked the corner unit on the 2nd floor.  It appears some buildings are 2 stories and have no elevators while some buildings are 3 stories and have an elevator.  I wanted to be on the top as I hate living under other people as I can hear them walking and rolling their suitcases over the thin carpet.  The floors have no padding so the carpet is pretty much just a rug.  I very much enjoyed my stay on the 2nd floor although it was a struggle getting all the luggage upstairs. We were in the 2 bedroom unit which had 2 bathrooms.  Beds were firm and of good quality.  Pillows are fluffy.  Freezer had enough room for all my Cooler Shock freezer packs plus some ice cream.  Bathroom has complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and soap in refillable bottles.  I miss the free souvenir size bottles but this is better for the environment.  There was a nice pool and spa. Wifi was not good.  Often the connection to the internet would cut out.  Speed was ok when working.  Signal strength was ok with 2 out of 3 bars on my macbook pro.  speedtest.net reported Worldmark is using Comcast business and 17mbs download with 9mbs upload. Staff was friendly and provided excellent service. In Solvang there is a windmill and lots of gift shops and restaurants. https://www.hungryones.com/?s=solvang&submit=Search   I love visiting Solvang.

The rooms are a little run down but that is to be expected. The location is ideal since downtown is walking distance. Great customer service every time I have stayed there.

It was a spur of the moment to come up here and spend Saturday night. My SO has the time share. And so one early morning, he checked and there was an opening. He snugged it before someone else does. We are not aware that it is the week of Danish days. We were rerouted and didn't know how to get here. My SO called the place and a nice gentleman guided us. Whew!! Thank you very much. Sorry I didn't get his name. Our unit was in the 3rd floor. And Wow!! I am beyond impressed by the amount of space. By far, this is the spacious place we have been to. Beautiful view from the balcony too. We were not able to use the amenities but we have enjoyed our stay. This place is walking distance to the Main Street. We will come back for more. The room has the usual amenities: bbq grill, washer/dryer in unit, hairdryer, TV's etc. Free coffee at the lobby from 7a to 12nn. WiFi isn't free. It is around $5 for 2 phones. Checking in is a breeze.

1/14/2022-1/16/2022 We drove in Friday after stopping by Sensorio in Paso Robles. We got here at 8:20 and noticed there was no one to check us in. We walked around to the center and noticed a hand written note that said please come back at 8:40. We decided to drive back out for drinks, snacks and some food we can cook up at the local market about a mile away. We made it back at 8:50 and this time was able to check in. The elevator is definitely dated and makes a ton of noise. Our 1 bedroom suite was as expected. I hope Solvang never changes and stays for many more centuries. Solvang is such a cute Danish theme town to come to. Worldmark Solvang is walking distance to almost everything here which was nice and convenient. We bought way too much danishes, cookies and ate way too much of everything. Until next time :P

What I like about WorkdMark is that, for the most part, their decor, setup, and square footage of their units are very similar across properties... This one, I was pleasantly surprised because the 2BR was a bit larger than the norm. Also, the location of the hotel is close to the Main Street which is great. I enjoyed this property.

Highly recommend Cailloux Cheese Shop for Happy Hour/Dinner

Really enjoyed the week I spent as a guest of a Worldmark member in February, and this was my first experience at a Worldmark. It was wonderful! The staff could not have been nicer and more helpful, and the location was conveniently within easy walking distance of the center of Solvang. Our unit faced the Alisal golf course and was very private and peaceful. We had a 2 bedroom unit on the second floor. Easy parking, very comfortable appointments (the bed was soooo comfortable!), plenty of towels, huge bathroom. Another friend joined us part way through the week, and although there is only one parking place in the lot per unit, it was easy to find plenty of space for free on a side street right under our patio. Solvang is very generous with free parking in general! We did find some glitches: a hair drier fried itself upon turn on (but there was a backup and we dropped the bad one off at the front desk), and casting to the tv kept disconnecting, but unknown if that was the phone or tv casting issue. We still watched our movies, there were just some interruptions and it took some minutes to get reconnected. The wifi was otherwise fine for all of us; we were even able to take zoom meetings and do some work while there. We were delighted to find Worldmark also provided us with several 2-4-1 wine tastings; we tried several spots we loved but might never had noticed without the coupons. We even ended up joining one wine club thanks to Worldmark! My favorite thing about this Worldmark was the staff and the puzzles available in the members area. We actually managed to put together a 1,000 piece puzzle in a few days, down to the last piece moments before checkout, take a photo and then put it all back in the box to return! Memorable.

Our Easter weekend couldn't have been any better thanks to this beautiful and comfortable Airbnb. WorldMark was only 2 blocks away from the main street in Solvang. This made everything so much easier. Wine tasting and food, only a short walk away. The 2 bedroom suite was fully stocked with all the amenities to be able to cook in if we wanted. The living room was spacious and comfortable for our party of 5. The bedrooms were roomy and I appreciated the hangers in the closet. Cute private patio with a gas bbq was a nice surprise. Check in was super easy since there was friendly staff welcoming you. Every time we needed something, I just picked up the phone and the items (extra towels and blankets) were delivered promptly. Bonus was the fun Gnome hunt and Easter basket raffle they had going. The kid in all of us had so much fun walking the property and looking for the Gnomes. Thank you for making us feel safe. Would definitely stay here again!

I am going to let you in on a little secret…read more... Yeah, I'm going to share with you what i THINK is the best kind of getaway, well, at least in my humble opinion. It's the kind that doesn't abruptly end, but it just sort of.... keeps on going. Let me explain. Have you ever gone on vacation and said to yourself, or to your spouse or even to your kids.... "Gee, I could have really used one more night" Or Let out the exaggerated (Ughh)... "I don't want to go back to work tomorrow, I wish we could just extend our trip by just one more day" Well... On a recent trip with my family, We INTENTIONALLY did just that. My wife booked us a 2 night stay in Paso Robles at a beautiful boutique style/chain hotel. (The Ava Hotel in Paso) (Check out my review for the deets) Usually, when we do these short, weekend trips, I work up until the day of our trip and then go back the very next day once we return... But, NOT THIS TIME! Yeah, This time, my wife intentionally told me, let's book one more night on the way home from our trip in Paso just to break up the drive home and enjoy one more day off of work and time with the fam. Heck, I've got loads of PTO and who wants to be at work anyway, so it wasn't too hard to twist my arm on this one. And just like that.... Solvang, Here we Come! Yes, the cute, quaint town of Solvang is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway or even just for a one night stay like we did. Of course, my wife, the Queen of finding the best places to stay/eat... (AND I AM THE ONE WHO IS THE "ELITE" haha) booked us a room at the Landsby hotel and it was nothing short of a treat. Here's why: The Landsby is more than just a room... Inside of a hotel... Located in the heart of this Danish town known as: SOLVANG It wasn't just, "let's build a hotel where the people can stay and explore the town while they are here". At least that's not the impression it gave me! Instead, The Landsby has a Charm about, it has Character and most of all it gives you the impression that you are in a modern-day Dutch village. But one of my favorite parts.... The Room Key, keyword, "KEY" Yeah! The room key is an actual Key!!! A metal, lock and key, just like the good 'ol days! Ain't no digital, pre-programmed, modern day, technologically advanced system like every other hotel does it.... And I liked it! And to match the old school style key... The t.v is in black and white, the internet is run on dial up and the telephone is a rotary dial..... JUST KIDDING!!!! But wouldn't that be cool! Aside from the small town European vibe that the exterior of the building gives you, once you step inside both the hotel and then your room, you are immediately transported to a place that feels welcoming, familiar and most of all comfortable. Because this was a short stay (just a one nighter) we didn't take advantage of the amenities like we normally do, but next time we will. A lobby bar (our favorite place to check out), an onsite restaurant (Mad & Vin which loos really good), an outdoor courtyard to sit and relax, and complimentary cruiser bikes to explore the town. The Landsby is Pet friendly, so definitely check out their webpage for details for your furry friends. So....... Now that I've let you in on my little secret, I don't want you to keep it that way! Spread the word! Pass it along! Tell a friend! Come check out the Landsby in Solvang!!

I was advised they were having systems issues with their app. Since it was a 3rd party the app was charging me the 3rd party charge. Which was $50 less what I paid to the 3rd party. I advised them I had already prepaid. They advised me they would release hold in 2-3 days. I called the 3rd party to advise the above. They called Winston staff as they shortly after sent me a text. I do believe Winston was in error to charge me while I had already paid the 3rd party. The funds were released the next day. Keep an eye on credit card notifications if stay here. Other than the above issue and Check in service I would stay here again. The room was comfortable with the exception of the balcony door not locking.

It was a wonderful grown-up getaway, our kids stashed with my mom in another country. Relaxing and deeply enjoyable, with great accommodations and lots of wine. One thing to note, for those booking online--there's a shady website that paid Google for higher placement in the search results than the actual hotel website, and if you book through them, they will charge you hundreds of dollars in excess fees. I fell for this stupid trap and was lucky to get my money back before rebooking through the hotel site and permanently switching my search engine to DuckDuckGo. The Inn at Mattei's Tavern is expensive enough to begin with. It's a very nice hotel, but I didn't think the price point was quite justified--maybe we got squeezed because there was a wedding on the property during our stay and we weren't part of the block. The $60 resort fee is also ridiculous. All that said, it was a lovely hotel, and easily the most high-end in the small town of Los Olivos. Mattei's Tavern has a long history, going back to 1886, when it was a popular stagecoach stop. The hotel's aesthetic leans accordingly western--a little horsey, a little ranchy, with cowboy hats for sale in the lobby shop. It is also, though, a modern California luxury hotel, expensively renovated in the not-too-distant past. The staff was friendly and helpful, both over the phone and in person. We were eligible for an upgrade if available because of a random Mercedes Benz partnership (I drive a Mercedes), but I guess there wasn't one, likely because of the wedding. The Mercedes promotion was good for a $100 food and beverage credit, which we redeemed at the Tavern, the hotel's excellent restaurant. We also enjoyed welcome drinks at check-in, made with whiskey, ginger, and lemon, and soft caramels that came with turndown service. We took home a complimentary bottle of Presqu'ile wine, from a vineyard in Santa Maria. This was in addition to the many wines we purchased at local tasting rooms over our brief stay, which a hard-working bellman helped us schlep out of our room. We got a patio king studio, and it was clean, comfortable, roomy, and attractive. There was a small living area that wasn't especially useful. The fireplace was cool, and I liked that it could be used inside the room or on the patio. There was a pool, which maybe started to justify the resort fee, and we visited our first morning to relax before heading out to drink wine. The vibe was pleasant, a lot of adults chilling quietly with books. If you travel fancy and want to visit Los Olivos, The Inn at Mattei's Tavern is the place to stay. We had a wonderful time in this cute, walkable, wine-soaked town, and hope to come back again soon.

Everything was clean, well maintained, and felt upscale without being over the top. It was the kind of room you actually look forward to coming back to after a long day. Food was another highlight. Every meal was consistently great well prepared, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. It made the whole retreat experience feel elevated without being formal or stiff. The staff deserves special mention. Everyone I interacted with was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and created a very welcoming atmosphere throughout the stay. And a fun bonus: they had four Mercedes vehicles available for use.
