I love Whistler and this was my first time into Canada and I have to say I have had the best experience. Hopefully i can make it back to whistler. The drive from the airport to Whistler was two hours long. The most fantastic drive as long as you rent a private vehicle. I would definitely recommend Four Seasons.

Our friends recommended we check out this other sauna in whistler. But with what we experienced here, this has everything I want. And if you're unfamiliar with the area, understand that this is very close to the whistler gondola. I'm talking a 5min walk. We came here from Seattle so we brought our skis and parked in the garage. We start our day by going down to the parking garage, putting on our ski gear, then walking like five min to the lift. When we come back from skiing, we either walk to a restaurant right around the corner, or we get some steaks from the local market (6min walk) and cook it in the room. Not sure if all Rooms have this but ours had a full kitchen setup.

We heard that hotel has a free shuttle service to town, as well as drop off with a private car (first come first serve). We didn't used it because we wanted to walk since weather was so nice, maybe next time. Hotel has a few restaurants and cafes. We enjoyed nice lunch at Portobello, I highly recommend their cuban sandwich and Belgium hot chocolate. Breakfast place The Wildflower was very crowded and service was very bad. Most of the people take buffet and if you want to take a la carte you will wait even longer for the food. However, egg Benedict was excellent and cappuccino and latte is speciality coffee and cost extra but it's worth it. We reserved the Wildflower for anniversary dinner. The ambience doesn't feel like in an upscale restaurant, maybe because we used to this as a breakfast place... This hotel disappointed on every front…read more Prior to our visit, I called on three occasions, trying to get information about guides and experiences. I spoke to two different concierges (whoever answered the mainline each time I called claimed to be one). I was shocked to find the concierges spoke down to me, failed to listen to me when I was asking for information - substituting instead their assumptions of what they thought I was going to ask for, and insultingly tried to explain to me how websites and phones worked. In addition, they appeared to lack any independent knowledge about who to contact for what. Instead, they would refer me to Google. Had Google answered my questions, I would not have had to call the concierges in the first place. Twenty-four hours before we were to arrive, we learned we could not travel to Canada because our 4.5 month old puppy would not be allowed back into the US until she was 6 months old. I tried to find puppy care on this short notice, but could not. I immediately called bookings.com for help, and they said they were happy to refund me, but Pan Pacific had to approved it before they could do so. Bookings.com wrote and asked for the refund the day before we were to arrive. In addition, I personally called and emailed Pan Pacific that afternoon and again the following morning, asking to cancel with a refund or reschedule for July or August when our pup would meet the US's 6month age requirement. The following day, I received an email from Pan Pacific refusing to refund my prepayment - even though we would not be able to come. They also falsely characterized my request as a same day cancellation. This is not some small B&B or family-owned hotel that may not be able to handle cancellations or for whom a cancellation of a three-night stay in their cheapest room class could have serious financial consequences. The Pan Pacific Hotels Group has a multitude of hotels in at least thirteen countries and advertise on their website that there are more coming soon. I can't think of a single reason why they wouldn't just let me postpone my reservation to later in the summer if they couldn't afford to simply cancel and refund my $700US and change (the total cost of all three nights). Also frustratingly, after refusing to refund my money for a room I couldn't use, they said they would provide me the "courtesy" of adding my family members' names to the reservation. My reservation was for myself, my 12 year-old, and our puppy - all of which was disclosed to them upon reserving the room. Clearly putting the room in my child's or puppy's name accomplishes nothing. And since I paid for the room, shouldn't they be required to let my designee stay in it? Is that really a courtesy? In my opinion, their "courtesy" was a meaningless, valueless platitude that felt, and was intended to feel, dismissive and rude. I truly miss the days of customers being valued and treated with a modicum of respect - or, at the very least, treated with the intention of creating customer goodwill and /or trying to obtain repeat business. Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre really appears not to care at all about their customer experience. And if that's true, wouldn't it be far better to stay at - and support - a hotel that does?

This suite is near 1700 sq ft, has a full kitchen, living room with soaring ceilings and dining area, a master bedroom with fireplace, large built in closet and en suite bathroom, a king bedroom, queen bedroom with en suite and half bath. It also has four balconies - one off each of the bedrooms and large one off the living room with spectacular views of the village and mountains. The beds were amazingly comfortable, room was cleaned early each day and had everything we needed from espresso machine, coffee machine, washer and dryer , large double fridge, great bathroom amenities. Loved the experience but a few things were lacking - no wall decor - walls looked freshly painted but were completely blank, master bathroom was tiny, but bedroom was huge with lots of wasted space - for example the fireplace was nice but there was no seating area just an otter-man with bedding , and two bathrooms were off the queen bedroom but none near the king bedroom !! Washer dryer was a great addition until we realized it only used boiling hot water even on a cold cycle and we had to request that the fire place and safe be repaired. That said it is a great location, comes with daily breakfast, the balconies are worth every penny and it's very clean and comfortable!

Nearly every serious advanced skier has skied Whistler and Blackcomb or has his/her sights set on this beautiful destination. The accolades and honors are impressive. Snow Country Magazine and Ski Magazine rightfully so recognized Whistler as THE Number One Ski Resort in North America. And the International Olympic Committee selected Whistler as THE best place in the world to host the 2010 Winter Games and ParaOlympic Games. So, 'natch, this is THE place in the winter. Interval International list six-time shares in this ski area, and three of these time-shares are premium resorts. During peak ski season, we decided to "lock in" Mountainside Lodge at Whistler, British Columbia (17 Sundial Place, Whistler, British Columbia V0N 1B4, Canada, 604-932-4511, www.mountainsidelodge.ca) when a unit became available. Mountainside Lodge at Whistler, British Columbia offers studio, one-, and two-bedroom units. Because the mountain is the main source of day activity, the time share amenities are secondary. The photos of Mountainside Lodge at the Interval International web site will provide the visitor with an accurate view of this time-share. The Vancouver airport is only a 75-mile drive along very well-maintained highways. Mountainside Lodge is a short 150 yards from lift to both Whistler and Blackcomb. Mountainside Lodge provides ski lockers at the lobby area, and this feature is a real convenience. While the units seem on the small size, the property is well maintained. Check in is speedy, and the skier(s) is soon in the middle of a pedestrian village. Parking is very convenient. Many U.S. citizens refer to Whistler when they should be speaking of two mountains: Whistler and Blackcomb. It is true that one lift ticket permits skiing at both mountains, and the two mountains will challenge all levels of skiing. I know there is a huge difference between black diamond skiing in the East and in the West. My skiing abilities are black diamond (West), but not double black diamond. I scan a ski map rather than study the map, and the fun part is taking different trails and mountain bowls and working my way all over the mountain. A real advantage if Whistler and Blackcomb are that there are some very serious skiers, and generally, there is little reason to be on the watch for the "out-of-control" skier. These two mountains will keep the best skier energized for a week. Whistler Village is a compact modern, but European style village. Because Whistler Village is designed to be traffic free, there is quaintness to this planned village. Après skiing is developed to a fine art in Whistler Village. Restaurants vary from casual delis to fine dining. Of course, a small village(s) will suggest the advisability of restaurant reservations. Grocery stores are available to supply the condo kitchen. Unfortunately, recent government actions have required U.S. citizens to carry passports to enter Canada, and to re-enter the U.S. Most of us understand the world is a different place, and the passport requirement is not a serious time constraint. The drive from Vancouver is referred to as "The Most Romantic Road in the World." Highway 99 from Vancouver to Whistler is often referred to as the "Sea to Sky" Highway. This two-hour drive was voted the most romantic road in the world. There are gas stations, restaurants, and grocery stores in Squamish - the halfway point to Whistler. Photo Opportunities: Snow-capped mountains, Bald eagles and wildlife, Shannon Falls waterfall, Roaring hydroelectric dams, Ferries and cruise ships in Howe Sound, Historical landmarks and Aboriginal craft stores, The Stawamus Chief granite monolith (one of only two in the world.) The drive is pleasant, and the driver may miss a good deal of the "romance." Be certain to specify snow tires for the rental car; in fact, specify a "ski package car," or be prepared to rent an SUV for this holiday. While one might be tempted to visit Vancouver on a ski trip to Whistler Blackcomb, I find a tour of Vancouver to be a distraction from the primary sport of skiing. There is enough sport in skiing, and more than enough après ski to keep a skiing couple or family occupied at Whistler Blackcomb.

The room seemed particularly well appointed and thought out for being a fully contained unit with a kitchenette. Eg rubbermaid mechanical floor and carpet sweeper was useful. We were especially impressed with the front desk staff, who all seemed super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and surprisingly happy! The building and rooms were slightly dated, but this did not detract at all, since everything, including the couches and bed were super comfy.

Sitting in a gondola is very…read moreluxurious because it's enclosed, your snowboard is unstrapped and sitting outside on the gondola so you can sit in comfort and unwind for a bit without fear of loosing your gloves. There were nice runs off both the Whistler side and the Blackcomb side but as a snowboarder I think I liked the Blackcomb side better. There were less flat cat track spots and connector areas. Although once I figured out where to go, the runs on the Whistler side were amazing. I felt the Whistler side was consistently more crowded and had better snow than the Blackcomb side. I hear the Blackcomb was designed on a computer model as it's the newer side vs the Whistler side was not. Whistler has a large village that has many restaurants, grocery stores, board-shops and winter clothing stores. All the rentals in the area are some how connected to the Whistler village and you'll have to either walk thru there to get to the lifts and gondolas or have a ski in/ ski out situation. There is also a free bus system that connects all the surrounding rental areas and Whistler village. There are also a few different (paid) bus services to and from Vancouver airport to Whistler so you don't have to rent a car. Whistler is a cool place with a huge skiable area. It's located at a lower elevation so the 2 times I've been there, there was no new snow. It had a good base and had good groomed runs. This past time there was a fog layer in the middle of the mountain every day. So the top of the lower runs had limited visibility. If you went to the top of the mountain you'd be above the cloud line. My biggest complaint was that you couldn't always see the contours of the ground, when the run turned a certain way or was obscured from the sun behind a hill or trees. So on a long run you'd have good visibility in some areas then there'd be areas where there'd be bad visibility. Combine that with the mid mountain clouds / fog certain parts became a little sketchy. But once you got the run down you just trust that it's smooth and go, just takes a little leap of faith. Overall I enjoyed myself. I liked the ski in / ski out place that we rented (painted cliff), the ease of getting to and from the airport, and the ease of getting around via the free bus service. The hotel was conveniently located in the village. They have secure underground parking available. The room itself had everything you need if you want to cook meals. My kids loved the bunk beds. The minus of this room is noise while it comes with ear plugs. You hear the noise from the venue bellow starting at 6pm and last night it went past midnight. As a positive I texted the desk and they had the sound reduced The villages facing rooms have less noise per the front desk. It's been a lot of years since we felt like we were at a frat party minus the alcohol. Some rooms have two bedrooms and some have hot tubs. Two restaurants on second floor. As far as other guess we heard none. We were there for a day of fire alarm testing and window washing they keep the hotel clean. Nescafé in rooms and down stairs fresh fruit in lobby. All the food was pretty standard, relatively cheap compared to the area we were in, but they do not do to go orders so we had to flip everything into to go containers, which was fine.
