One of my final gluten challenge destinations. We arrived at 1030 on a Sunday. It was PACKED. We had to wait about 15mins in line. We got the glazed jelly, filled maple bar, glazed old fashioned, and the glazed buttermilk. The old fashioned was fine, not great. It was slightly dry. The buttermilk donut was good. It was huge. Dense, not dry, and had a prominent buttermilk flavor. It was gigantic. The jelly filled was also huge. The size of two donuts. It was heavy and dense but the texture was still light and fluffy. The jelly inside is seeded raspberry. It definitely tastes very sweet and a little artificial. Not the best jelly donut I've ever had, but not horrible. It was filled generously. The filled maple bar was very sweet. The glaze was maple-y enough. The filling wasn't too sweet--tasted and had texture of jello vanilla pudding. It was filled from both ends. These 4 huge donuts were $11 total. Best price compared to other shops in the area. read more

The donuts here are absolutely amazing and some of the best I've had. I've been a loyal customer since the previous owner, and the quality of the donuts is the reason I continue coming back. Unfortunately, the customer service has been consistently disappointing. This isn't based on one bad experience--the cashier is rude and unfriendly every single time I visit. As a regular customer, it's discouraging to be greeted with the same cold attitude every visit. A simple smile, greeting, or friendly attitude would make a huge difference. Solid donut shop! We were in the area for a softball game and wanted to get the team some donuts before the game. Stumbled upon World's Fare Donuts and knew it was the spot to be at as soon as we walked in, saw a long line, every table was taken with people enjoying coffee, donuts and doing their lotto scratchers. Line moved quickly, but you definitely felt the pressure to know what you wanted when it was your turn. Prices are a bit cheaper than most donut shops in the bay area. While we only tried a Maple Bar, Raised Crumb and 3 dozen donut holes (under $10), I wanted to try so many of the other flavors. The Maple bar wasn't your traditional light brown color, it was more yellow which threw us off. The raised crumb had more flavor than other places that I've tried. Great consistency and fluff in the donuts. It appears they have a lot of self serve coffee options and a full wall of lotto scratchers. What i ordered was a glaze donut, an old fashioned donut and a crumb donut. The donuts were way too doughy. It's literally dense dough where I couldn't finish the donut. And they all had a slightly yellow tint to the donut whereas normally it's white... I did some research and it's imitation vanilla. I found out about World's Fare donuts from Instagram reels. They popped up a few times on social media where people were touting them as "best donuts in the Bay." I love donuts so I knew I had to check them out. I stopped by here on a Saturday around 12pm and it was pretty busy with a short line. I ordered a bunch of different donuts and an apple fritter. The apple fritter is gigantic. I think you can easily share it with 4 people. Their donuts are pretty big too since they are so dense. I feel like they are really two donuts given how big they are. While this place is good, I don't consider them the best donuts in the Bay because they are pretty heavy. The vibe is also different here when compared to other donut shops. I think my one complaint with the donut holes is that it tasted pretty doughy.. it wasn't light at all. For several years, I had driven by World's Fare and never ventured in. I guess it was good for my waistline that I did not because the donuts were very very good. I was impressed by the size of the glazed donut; they're at least twice the size of other donuts I've had and probably three times the size of Krispy Kreme's version (they are much better in my opinion too). The donut that I thought was even higher up on the totem pole of donutdom was their sugar donut--it was less sweet and so soft with a great texture. These donuts must be like kryptonite to Ozempic they are so tasty and filling. I was mildy disappointed there were no Boston Cream donuts to try but I'm not even sure they make them here. If they did..... The store itself was very interesting to me; I noticed so many regulars and numerous people rapidly scratching off lottery tickets. Nice lady: Told we'll have it ready for you when you arrive sitting on the counter so you don't have to wait TODAY, Tuesday, 6/27 6:45 - No box on the counter so waiting to be helped. There was about 5 other customers ahead of me 6:55 - nice lady assisted but looked confused (not a good sign) and went to the owner who looks at me (*sigh*) then walks to the back 7:00 - male owner walks to the counter where I'm standing and told "it's not ready...it's made in back but it MAY BE ready in an hour" The "may be" did not instill any confidence whatsoever. Decided to ask for a refund as that doesn't do me any good if I need to head into work. Sure if I was hanging in the area not an issue. TO THE OWNERS: * If you can't accommodate an order at a specific time frame, let your customers know. It's not an issue. * if things are running late, let your customers know as you ask for a phone number for a reason! Bottom line: It's about communication. Plain and simple CUSTOMERS: Be sure you call the day before (end of day) or an hour before pickup to ensure it will be ready. That way if your order can't be accommodated you can find a backup plan I'm definitely not deterring people from visiting as World's Fare Donuts makes decent donuts. Donuts here are legit! Daughter loved the chocolate glazed donut. Nice to see they have glazed donut with shredded coconut on top. The #14 Panini Sandwich Torta a La Plancha was quite delicious!
