Tbh, I much prefer Ulta over Sephora..I feel like they have better options and a wider selection overall, though I do wish brands like Rhode were carried here. I've been coming to this Ulta for a while, and matching my foundation has always been a struggle. I kept leaving with shades that were too dark, but then I met Claudia. She's only at this location one day a week, so hopefully you get lucky enough to catch her! She perfectly matched my foundation on the first try. She also helped me pick out a perfume for nights out. Then I mentioned I wanted a second fragrance for everyday wear that was a little more masculine and laid back. A couple of the other associates jumped in to help. I'm so sorry I forgot one of your names, (I wanna say Karina) but both of you were so sweet and patient. After smelling what felt like every perfume in the store, Kiana found the perfect everyday scent for me. Every employee I interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely wanted to help. This is what Ulta coul improve! When a customer buys an item from a retailer, let's say Olaplex and that item in a certain size comes with a free sample, just give the customer the darn free gift!!!! Whether we buy it online, in store or online to be picked up at our nearest Ulta store. My nearest Ulta store is this one and when I went to pick up my order they said I didn't qualify for the free gift because my order wasn't shipped. Now, that takes all the fun out of shopping, so Ulta beauty needs to improve as soon as possible. Beauty products are something we buy for fun to make our days brighter and Ulta is ultimately making our days unforgettable but not in a good way . Palmdale Ulta today was honestly disappointing enough to say something. 5/23 While checking out, I realized my total would qualify better if I added another item and used a different code. I asked the person I was with if we should grab another item, and the cashier responded with "quickly" in a rude and dismissive tone because the line had started getting longer. The cashier was wearing an orange dress at the time. I unfortunately did not catch her name, but the interaction was memorable for the wrong reasons. As a customer who was literally about to spend MORE money in the store, being rushed through checkout because the line got longer was unnecessary and unprofessional. I understand retail can get busy and that being the only cashier can be stressful, but staffing issues and long lines are ultimately a management problem, not the customer's responsibility. Customers should not be made to feel like an inconvenience for shopping, asking questions, or adjusting their purchase. The literal goal is to SELL. What made it worse was that instead of apologizing after noticing I was visibly uncomfortable, she simply said she would move to another register and leave my items there. So I just ended up leaving. I drove to the Lancaster location afterward, and the difference in customer service was night and day. The staff there were friendly, patient, and actually helpful. Ok... here's the thing.... I'm not leaving a bad review but an honest one. I was recommended to try the salon here. I went in explained thoroughly what I expected and wanted. The woman who did my hair (remaining unnamed) advised me she understood. Now I provided pictures of what I was wanting or needed to be done to my hair. She assured me that would be fine. She then proceeded with a Dark version when I wanted vibrant colors. The expirience with her was great. Great customer service... but they don't specialize in what I now know it as "fantasy colors" which was misleading. The whole time I sat there she told me the color looked like wine... well that's not what I wanted... then during wash out and styling I never saw the hair till the end.. when I seen it I was very caught off because I had to look very hard to see a difference in my hair... it's like nothing had changed expect the $170 whole in my pocket. She gave me her personal card as I wanted to help her get more clients. Well I text her and she was very understanding on why I didn't like my hair or that the follow through on color was not vibrant. 3 weeks later after going back and forth she tells me she can do it for me at my house... I was hesitant but agreed. Then at last minute she ghosted me and told me to go back to Ulta to get it fixed so it wouldn't cost me more...... I then called the store and spoke to the manager because I was defeated. I felt I was lead on from the second I sat in that chair. I was able to get the $140 refund as tip was not able to be refunded off a card.. which w.e and the manager took care of the rest. Regardless if you go here make sure you're being VERY CLEAR and have a full plan to follow through. The ladies are nice but I won't be back. I came to Ulta beauty on Sunday, May 18th, to get a couple of hair clips and a foundation color match. Kennedi and Sequoia did a wonderful job matching my skin tone. I enjoyed the makeup removal and color-matching process. They both delivered exactly what I asked them for--an under-eye correction concealer and a natural coverage foundation for combination skin. According to their professional advice, the best brand for my skin type and color is Clinique. I got the Oat Serum Foundation with Broad Spectrum SPF 25 and the Toasted Wheat Even Better All-Over-Concealer. This is definitely a great all-in-one place to get your hair accessories, perfume/cologne, color-matching needs, and makeup/makeup application supplies. They even have brow waxing and salon service. In about one hour and fifty nine minutes you'll be in Palmdale from Long Beach if you leave during rush hour. I also left in the middle of mercury retrograde so there was a stop n go show of car accidents on the way. I forgot to pack some essentials so i stopped by Ulta with my homegirl. I asked Maria who was busy working the aisles for help and she carefully guided me through concealer application. She gave me great advice and sent me home with valuable knowledge. Unfortunately living through this second Great Depression I had to leave the makeup behind. The cashier boldly asked me if I was sure and I immediately felt challenged but remembered to put my needs first. I thought it was a joke when they girl told me to look at How the product looked after she applied it. She acted like she didn't see how bad it looked on my skin. Kiahna is the best of the best. I went in today to break out my shell I told myself this year I would do and my little supporter (son) came along. While getting the new rare beauty collection they have (hearing a huge hype with my younger colleagues) I decided I get help as I do not really wear makeup and don't know what I'm doing. Enter Kiahna ! She asked me a few questions and right away knew what I was looking for she sat me down did a test and help me find my color foundation and what I needed to cover up my freckles; pores, ect.. she made me feel comfortable and help pull me out the shell on top of that she gave above and beyond exceptional customer service by hand writing me a list on how she applied everything (custom routine) I literally purchased everything she used (tools and all) she than continued to go beyond and help the front desk with check out and help me apply for the credit card. If anyone goes to Ulta Palmdale I recommend seeing Kiahna She knows her stuff and is super friendly and supportive with what you need or looking for. Urban decay needs to give this girly an ambassador bonus and Ulta needs to give her a raise/promotion. I bought a gift card from this ULTA store and gave it to my daughter last week. We tried to use it yesterday and Ulta said it's been used. There's no way that's it been used online. So , somewhere after buying the gift card to the time she was about to use the gift someone was able to use it and who on earth had the access to the card number after buying the gift card. Great place if you have to run in and grab something specific your wife needs...or you for that matter. I walked in and was immediately greeted with a smile from an employee asking if I needed help finding anything. I'll admit, I do look super out of place inside here. They helped me find what I was looking for, and even went above and beyond pointing out that they do have some men's products as well. I will come back and pay the higher prices to help this location stay open. They've had a wave of people walking in and walking out with hundreds of dollars of products without paying. Booked a hair appointment for a nonverbal disabled woman the quote was 95 dollars, in email over the phone. Something I'm able to print out and show, when I picked her up she was charged 170. Every time I go in or call a store manager cannot be reached or isn't there currently as I'm writing this I have been sitting on hold for 10 minutes. It's insanely gross and inhumane to take advantage of a disabled person and charge them an extra 75 dollars for a split end clean up. I've gone to ulta plenty for my own hair cuts and dyes, never once have I paid this much and I have notably more difficult hair to deal with. Be upfront with the pricing and don't take advantage of those who cannot speak for themselves. Also update: called today and finally got through to them. They said the pricing matches their website which is untrue. They also left a patch of grey in her hair if you're gonna charge up the butt at least provide full services. Here is the nonexistent website pricing they couldn't find & her hair taken 20 mins after the apt. Hair is expensive but it costs nothing to be upfront and honest about your pricing and practices. This review is for the Salon @ Ulta. I was on a waitlist to get partial highlights since I couldn't attend my original appt due to transportation issues. I was lucky enough to get a call the same week and they booked me for the weekend with Janneth. This was my first appt with her. She was running behind but that didn't matter to me since I had missed my original appt and was lucky enough to get scheduled while on the wait list. Anyways, I have to say, I LOVE Janneth's work. I came in with grown out and brassy partial highlights. I have very dark hair (level 2?) and a ton of random grays sprawled everywhere. I asked her to blend the highlights I had and bring them up to my roots to blend in with my grey hairs. I also pointed out specific greys that would be visible when I put my hair up, even with the highlights. She took her time with the highlights, and I'm glad she did, because it came out amazing!!!! I forgot to take a before picture, but I have posted an after picture (Note: The store lighting doesn't do the color justice). My hair took around 4 hours. Totally worth it. Aside from Janneth's awesome work, this Ulta itself is nice. The bowl that they wash your hair in has a tilt, which is way more comfortable for shorties like myself. I think they also had 2 gender neutral restrooms. There is a lot of parking, because it's near a bunch of other stores like Best Buy, Staples, Home Goods, TJ Maxx, etc. When you get a hair service, they give you a disposable mask so that yours doesn't get ruined. Wonderful experience! I've been to the salons at Ulta Burbank, Ulta Fallbrook, Ulta Sherman Oaks, and Ulta Northridge. As of right now, the Salon @ Ulta Palmdale is my favorite. read more

My sister had gone to dye her hair here three times (shame on us). 1st time the guy was rude and impatient making my sister feel uncomfortable. He messed up the hair dye and she had to come back a second time. Even then her hair ended up looking nothing like what she asked for. We went for a third time around a year later asking for a consultation. At that consultation my sister had showed an image of what she wanted and they said they could do it. Lo and behold they couldn't do it. Look, a little honesty would be nice. Employees (for the most part) are nice and I blame most of this on management and training. If you're going to dye your hair please consider spending a little more money somewhere else, you'll be happier. I can't speak for their other services. read more

I went in for some foundation and to possibly be matched. I asked one sales associate for help with choosing the right color and she was so rude and rushing as if I was bothering her. She proceeded to rub the tester foundation stick directly on my face and handed it to me and said it's the right shade and walked off. I'm not a big make up girl so you can imagine how intimidating and discouraging it is to just be brushed off so nonchalantly. After still deciding to support this business I grabbed the rest of my items and go to the registers where I was ignored my two women who seemed to be managers, just for them to be completely rude to me as if I caused them so much inconvenience. I understand this business is in an area that constantly causes them to be robbed, but it is okay to treat paying customers with respect especially if I am extending my respect. But the white lady next to me did a return. But magically after I found my receipt I got a full refund. Then she refused to help me after asking me did I want someone else to help me and I said no. Got a haircut today all i wanted to do is cry when i saw how it was left... I showed 2 pictures for reference let her know I wanted my hair to be up to my chest. My hair was left to my shoulders. Was supposed to have curtain bangs but was left with two chunks sitting oddly on my face. As an fyi one of the reference pictures was a poster they have hanging which was in front of the chair I was sitting in. I am not sure if I have ever left a review, if not, I totally forgot to and meant to...but just wanted to say that JORDAN deserves five stars all the way!! Not only is he an amazing person who is so fun and sweet, but he is the best stylist I have ever been to! I have a PIXIE cut, and anyone who has a PIXIE cut knows how hard it is to find someone that can cut your hair well. JORDAN did my hair for a couple years while I lived in the area. He was with me through trying to grow out my hair to cutting it short again and coloring it from dark to highlighting it and even with me while figuring out how to style it for my own wedding. He always kept my hair looking great and healthy too. He was always able to get me in when I needed. The photos I have seen of him doing hair color and cuts are always phenomenal no matter the length. I was super upset when the military moved us away and I can no longer have JORDAN do my hair. I hope I find someone where we currently live who can do my hair even half as good as JORDAN did! It's been 5 months and I'm still searching.
