A few of us weren't sure we wanted to wait, but we decided to stick it out. To our surprise, we were seated within about 15 minutes, and the friendly service started our visit off on a great note. I'm not a big breakfast person, so I ordered the BLT with potato chips, and it was delicious. The rest of my party ordered breakfast items, and everyone raved about their meals. The portions were generous, prices very reasonable and everyone agreed the food was excellent. The real star of our visit, though, was the pie! i ordered a slice of the strawberry rhubarb and it was absolutely fantastic. It was truly the highlight of the meal, and I honestly regret not ordering a whole pie to bring home. This place is exactly what you hope to find when traveling, a charming, local, mom-and-pop gem with delicious food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere. It was agreed she'd deliver it to the location in the morning. It was needed before 2pm but the plan was to have it there in the AM. Because she forgot, and it was unsure if she'd come through, a homemade cake was made just in case. It wasn't until 1:15 that she texted on way!! Cake arrived, a bit sloppy and still warm. Ended up with two cakes. The whole point was not to bake the night before and yet, $50 later, still had to! The cake was basic with pineapple on it. Not bad just not great, for bakery cake. A bit dry. Not as expected. It's too bad because she came recommended by other local bakers and she's a very nice lady. She offers poetry nights and displays artists work. I'd recommend for that. I cannot speak about the beverages or other foods/desserts. The cafe gets 3 stars because of the community events and she offers other items I didn't try. But I will not pre-order items or recommend anyone to do so.
