Our game host, Attic, was kind and enthusiastic, which helped make the experience enjoyable. The facility itself was clean and well kept, and the waiting room had a lot of fun games to play before starting. The only thing to keep in mind is the booking/payment system for smaller groups. I came with one other person, but the online reservation system requires payment for a minimum of three people. Since there were only two of us, we still had to pay for a third person upfront, and the difference was given back as a coupon code for a future visit rather than as an actual refund. While I appreciate that they offer a credit, it did feel a little confusing and less straightforward than simply charging a higher two-person rate or clearly listing the minimum charge upfront. Overall, we had a good experience, but I do think the pricing/booking system could be made more transparent.

I took a group of tweens to their first escape room and they were all blown away. We did Terror in…read morethe Sky, which is a good non-linear room, so the kids could each work on individual puzzles and then come together to unlock doors and cabinets. The room itself had a few rows from an actual airplane, and screens in the window simulated flying, which was a great touch. The puzzles were good for our young group, and the ability to ask for unlimited hints was crucial (we ended up asking for 5 hints). Some of the puzzles were pretty basic (akin to doing a sudoku puzzle without giving too much away). And almost all of the locks were basic 4-number locks; it would been cool to have some more creative locks instead of just trying to find 4 numbers over and over. For example, different style locks or automated mechanisms that would open a door when triggered would have made all the difference. But the airplane theme was strong, and the kids LOVED it. I did want to call out our game master, Jay, who could not have been more patient with our group. Thank you for making the experience so memorable for us!

I like escape rooms but when I'm somewhere new and visiting I usually like exploring local or something new but this escape room was honestly a highlight. We did the speakeasy one and it encompassed some local facts and was a great time overall. Recommend an escape room in Raleigh!

We completed most of the room in about 30 minutes and spent about 12 minutes on the last puzzle. The room was simpler than ones we have done in the past. It was still fun and we would recommend it to those new to doing escape rooms. The employee running the room was attentive. We did not ask for hints but he did nudge us in the right direction towards the end. He just did not seem very into it. Some escape rooms are more theatrical with more backstory and a review at the end. This one was simple and even though we completed the room, we left with questions about the story line. We LOVED all the signs set out for pictures. The meme boards were hilarious. We started on time, the instructions were clearly communicated, and all the equipment worked well. You can keep your belongings with you and set them on a chair in the room. We parked on the street since the adjacent lots are for church parking or AT&T employees only. Overall, we had a good time and recommend this escape room to others. We likely will return to try out the upcoming asylum room!

Our teens have experienced escape rooms previously and this was my 2nd time visiting one. Escape rooms allow for you to be intuitive and really focus on the task at hand as well as connect with others in your group. Exit Strategy by Tar Heel Escapes is conveniently located on Franklin near tons of restaurants and shopping. We parked in the lot underground. Upon arrival Will our Game Master was very welcoming and bubbly. We were provided the house rules and made ourselves comfortable before locking in. We chose The Raiders of The Lost Temple Indiana Jones themed game. The room was decorated on theme with lots of props and the level of difficulty presented more challenging than expected. We enjoyed the puzzles and started off really strong. However, 60 minutes is not adequate time for the difficult challenges this game presented. It just isn't possible. Will was very helpful with providing us hints over our walkie talkie. They also took time to go over parts of the game we may have missed to assist in finishing. Despite this, I love a good challenge and thought this was a great way to connect with each other. The room was not very large, so I would say 4 people is really pushing it. Try it for yourself.

Parking was pretty easy since Game On is part of an outdoor shopping mall. Importantly, there are two levels to the mall, and Game On is located on the top level. We completed the Odin's Trial room in the allotted time, with a few hints from our gamemaster Spundun :) Everything in the room worked as expected, which is always appreciated. In general, escape rooms feel a little overpriced to me, but we did have fun, so I guess I can't complain! Overall, I'd recommend Game On.

Everyone was fully engaged from the second we walked in until the moment we solved the final mystery. The Room: Odin's Trial We did the Odin's Trial room, and the production value was top-notch. The puzzles were clever, thematic, and just the right level of "tricky" to keep us thinking without getting frustrated. The atmosphere really transports you into the Norse mythos. Our Game Master: Trevor O. A huge shout-out to Trevor O., who was easily one of the best game masters we've ever had. He was absolutely awesome at reading the room. He knew exactly when to hang back and let us struggle through a puzzle and exactly when to drop a perfectly timed clue to keep our momentum going. His guidance was helpful without giving too much away, which made the final "aha!" moments even more satisfying. Verdict Whether you're looking for a family outing, a team-building event, or just a fun night out with friends, I can't recommend Game On enough. If you go, definitely ask for Trevor--he made the experience truly special for our whole group! We will definitely be back to try their other rooms!
