I believe we'll be making this a yearly thing. The owner is very nice as well and tries her best to keep it as affordable as possible. So do be respectful to the items she requests you not to hit, the more that's needed in furniture replacement the more the prices will go up. Overall I completely recommend getting some anger out here. Oh extra perk, she'll put on whatever style music you feel will help all the relief the most.

We were greeted by 3 staff members (apologies I don't remember their names). I initially thought this was just a venue to smash stuff but it was explained that this is a mental health venture aimed at spiritual healing. After signing the waivers and donning our PPE, we went in. The wooden structure isn't huge so you cant get running starts or make any long over hear arm movements, but it ended being just the right amount of space to get your smash on. Initially I was caught up in the novelty of smashing things, but a point in time came where that novelty faded and I found myself tapping into an aggression and emotion I did not go there with. It wasn't until I stood there out of breath with my hands sore that I truly understood what this place was for. That session provided a space and avenue for me to truly let go, for just a little bit. If you haven't done that recently (or ever), you need to book a session to understand what im talking about. A challenge was issued to me to put in work on the water heater and I made a decent hole in it but that thing was tough. They sure don't make em like they used to.

The site was well furnished with safety gear (goggles, gloves, etc.), tools (bats, sledgehammers, etc.) and objects to smash (microwave oven, water heater, glass bottles, etc.). The rooms are tiny. The shards of broken glass got in my boots :( Ouchie. The earmuffs don't work well so also my ears were also ... ouchie. The staff has an attitude that will grow on you, I'll just say that lol. The inside smells like sweat and beer. They serve snacks and alcohol if you like that.

We did the Arcade area which is also in the front- the indoor rooms are in another area. This takes you through several different fun games that you can play in a box like area with your friends and everything is given identifying wristbands so the game knows who is who. Wear comfy shoes because you will be running around during these games and since you are likely to get slashed with paint if slimed at the end then also wear comfy clothes that you may not mind getting a little paint on. All of the staff were great and pleasant. Very helpful in explaining the games of anyone was confused or anything like that. The only downfall is that maybe the AC was broken in the main area because it was hot inside and with running around- it made us even hotter.

When I asked who the forms were up on the screen they said oh thats a different team and then had to get the correct forms up for us. The games were challenging not because of the puzzles but because of the technology used. in one of the games you had to put your wrist band up to the scanner but the scanner didn't work causing us to lose more time. The last problem was that the haz mat suits did not work on keeping the liquid out. I was completely soaked from the waist down. I'm not even sure how that was possible. I will pass on this experience in the future unless someone truly wants to go and I can be assured that the games have been fixed and updated.

Even the inside lobby was old and not inviting. My initial reaction to escape rooms here was a bit gimmicky and corny, but then I started getting into it. My group was all new to escape rooms at the time and we didn't even make it to the second room lol! So I can't comment too much on the whole experience here, but based on the half experience and as compared to the now 2 other locations I've been to, I would say this is definitely a subpar location and experience. I would give it a 2.5, but I would say it's more of a 2 than a 3.

This was our second time experiencing zip lining with Go Ape at their Springfield, VA location. My…read morenephews LOVE zip lining and they have been begging me to take them. It was finally warm enough to do an outdoors activity so I booked us tickets to go over the Easter weekend. I reccomend booking in advance as they do get booked up quickly. Also make sure to sign the waivers beforehand; so you don't have to do it at check in. I must say the staff this time around was truly commendable. They were great at instructing us the how tos and safety measures. They were considerate and patient dealing with my young nephews which I noticed and appreciated a lot. We did the tree top journey course as my nephews are still young and aren't quite tall enough for the other/ more advanced loop. This one was perfect for them. Some parts were challenging and scary but we managed to brave through it and were having the time of our lives! Tips: wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Bring a attachable cord for your phone so you don't run the risk of dropping it LOL. An hour gives you around 2-3 rounds on the loop depending on how fast you go through the courses. So much fun! I am considering purchasing buying the packages to take my nephews throughout the Summer.

I walk around Lake Mercer starting at South Run Park all the time, so I've known there were…read moreziplines here for years, but didn't realize the full extent of the obstacle courses. I took advantage of Black Friday offers and went on one of the last days they were open for the year. Freezing temperatures, but with good layering, hat, and gloves that wasn't an issue (I had pre-purchased their gloves, but wasn't thinking about temperature and got fingerless ... luckily I had brought a thick pair of my own gloves as a backup). I was by myself for the adventure (my wife stayed on the ground and took pictures - it's okay to bring spectators), but there were some other groups on different courses. The staff was friendly and helpful and made sure to tighten up the harness between each course. I did about half of the total courses - two full courses and one halfway, which had an option to return to the start before some obstacles I wasn't quite ready for mentally. The first two courses I did included a handful of obstacles and ended in a zipline. The obstacles get progressively more challenging as you go along, partially in terms of balance, but mostly in terms of fear factor. For me the toughest to psych up for was a set of free hanging ropes that you walk on. The Tarzan swing also took a minute to mentally prepare. The remaining courses I decided to save for another day after looking at them from the ground - I'd been challenged enough for the day, but definitely plan to go back and build up to those, hopefully with some friends along for support.
