I'll be honest; this isn't typically my kind of activity. But it's been on my "I guess I should try this at least once" list, so when one of my new friends picked it for her birthday, I said why not...and I'm actually glad I did! We had 7 of us total (supposed to be 8, but one friend couldn't make it), and split into two teams: 3 vs. 4. BABY!!! Teamwork is not optional here You need communication, quick thinking, and a good sense of humor because you will be stressed and laughing at the same time. We went through 4 different escape rooms: won some, lost some, but the real win was the experience. The friendly competition between both teams made it even better. It was giving "we are NOT losing to y'all" energy the whole time Now let's talk about the finale...THE PAINT BOMB. The white hazard suits?? The chaos?? The fun?? 10/10. That was easily my favorite part. Overall, it took about an hour, which was perfect for a group activity, not too long, not too short. My only con: the communication about the photos/videos. Apparently, you have to opt into text messages to receive your paint bomb pics, and nobody clearly explained that. Most of us opted out because...hello, spam?? So my group didn't get our content while the other team did. We had to go on a whole mini investigation and track someone down, which wasted time. BUT I will say that the staff was super helpful, and the manager ended up finding our files and sending everything the next day. So, it worked out, but it could've been explained way better upfront. Also, yes, they serve food and drinks (including alcohol), so if you're trying to make it a full "outside" moment, you absolutely can. We skipped it since we had a late lunch reservation right after, but the option is there if you're trying to get a little litty... Would I do it again? Maybe not regularly, but for a birthday, group outing, or something different... read more

so much to say about this place and I really hope they improve. The check in process was not flawless. Trying to figure out who could help us, each team member seemed like it was someone else's job. When I asked who the forms were up on the screen they said oh thats a different team and then had to get the correct forms up for us. The lockers were super difficult to figure out and had to have another team member come over and help. The games were challenging not because of the puzzles but because of the technology used. in one of the games you had to put your wrist band up to the scanner but the scanner didn't work causing us to lose more time. The last problem was that the haz mat suits did not work on keeping the liquid out. I was completely soaked from the waist down. I'm not even sure how that was possible. I will pass on this experience in the future unless someone truly wants to go and I can be assured that the games have been fixed and updated. read more

This place was a ball of fun, highly recommended for groups. We decided on the foam journey instead of the other options and while I enjoyed it, their hazmat suits can use some improvement. Most of us were soaking wet after removing the hazmats and it didn't help that they soaked you down with a hose afterwards to prevent you from dragging soap onto the floors. Literally annoyed at how soaked my clothing was. Next, there were a few computer glitches but it happens so I wasn't bothered by that. When we walked in we were a bit nervous because there were sooooo many kids having their birthday there. The check-in process was a bit obnoxious. They ask you a ton of questions that seem unnecessary. It takes a few minutes to check in, and the kiosk you're using to fill out the forms are slow. Each person in the group needs to have a waiver filled out. Their systems literally show all people's personal information because there's an auto fill option (people's phone #, names, emails, and addresses) super unsecure. Their systems literally activity time was fun, but everything else was frustrating. We paid extra to do the beat the bomb paint explosion at the end, but never received the video as mentioned. I want our video! Each group gets a Bay Area where you play all the interactive games. You get a wristband that tracks your location. It was difficult to order food, every time we asked they said we would have to wait 20 mins, and eventually they told us to order after our experience. I personally don't think it's worth ordering after, because you're ready to go home when you're done. They have a full bar, one $10 drink is included in your ticket. You can't pay additional for a drink that's more. The $10 drinks include slushies, shots (green tea, lemon drop, and Jell-O shot), seltzers, and beer. The pre made shots and slushies barely have alcohol, lots of sugar. Overall, I had so much fun with the group, but I wish they were a bit more organized. Things like ordering food, getting our group video, check in process etc.... I tried calling but no one ever picks up. They don't have a number for the specific location, only an overall customer service number that's in Albany NY. They don't validate parking, you either have to pay for the garage (which is pricey) or street parking. There's a lot of other game spots, bars, and food places in that area so it's hard to get street parking. There's so many of these game spots not a days so I probably wouldn't go back to this one. read more

Thu was a fun experience. I'd recommend doing this with friends. We had a group of 5 and we actually won the game. Despite that, we still decided to get bombed for the experience. The games were fun and challenging. The only downside is that the paint bomb is strong and we were a little damp after, despite the suits we wore. We all got there on time and had our waivers filled out in advance but I don't think we got to start until around 3:40PM and we finished at 4:55PM when the original time slot we had was 3:15 to 4:15. If you have a tight time schedule I think you should plan to give yourself extra time in case of delays and water breaks during the game rooms. Other than that I had such a fun time and although I was intimidated by how intense the paint bombing might be at first, it was honestly not bad at all. Some of my clothes did get a bit damp so make sure to wear clothes you don't mind getting a lil wet or possibly colored! Had a great time at beat the bomb. The check in process was a little odd. You check in on a tablet and they wanted A LOT of information (phone number, email, name of first pet, what you dream about, favorite meal of the day). Okay I'm exaggerating but it was a lot, and I wasn't comfortable giving it, when there was no reason. Thankfully there was a workaround but it was a real pain. The staff had to come over to the tablet multiple times and I was assigned some random name so for a while I didn't know when it was my turn. Because this information isn't necessary, there should be an easier way to bypass it. Outside of that - great experience. You move from room to room completing challenges that buy you more time to defeat the bomb. The final challenge is the bomb where (if you fail) you get sprayed in paint or foam. Our group did paint and while they did give us suits to put on, some color still got through. Thankfully, it all washed off. Would return. read more

I came here for a work team building event. Everyone had to sign a waiver and store their personal items away in a locker. You are given a few different rooms to complete missions in. Your performance in each room will dictate how much time you have for your final mission to Beat the bomb. You are not locked in the room so if you need to leave or run to the restroom you can without worry. While you are completing the missions you are given a full hazmat suit to put over your clothing. The suit is hot. Like really hot. We were pretty sweaty when we got done. It would be a good idea to wear light weight breathable clothing that you can move around in. Some of the missions have lasers which require lots of movement and being nimble. The bomb mission was fun. They did tell us that 80% of first time participants do not beat the bomb. This means the likely ness of getting slimed, or sprayed is pretty high. Overall we enjoyed our time there and look forward to grabbing a drink from the bar next time we go! read more

It was a great spot for a play date. It was like a real live workout with all the obstacles. Within an hours time, we played four games and went on to the final level to try to beat the bomb. We did not win but it's ok. We will be better prepared next time. At the end, we chose to be slimed and that was an interesting and funny experience. The customer service was also great and the guys who assisted us with getting prepped were really helpful. Overall, I think this place was nice and has a lot of potential to be great but there's room for improvement. When we went, the AC was not working and it was one of the hottest days of the summer. This was such an outrageously fun experience! I came with four friends, so five people total, and we were in one room together--one room can fit six people total, so larger groups will be broken down, and smaller groups will have to work harder. The process is pretty easy. Each player wears a wristband that is tied to their name, and each room that you go into has six computers. Each person uses their wristbands to solve the puzzles together in each room. There are three rooms total and the total time you earn in each room (based on your problem solving skills) is what you're given to 'beat the bomb'. The bomb is either slime, paint, or foam, and you select when making the reservation. We chose paint and it was pretty intense. I was lucky, but my friends ended up getting some inside their masks, all easily removable with some water. A warning to those who may be making a decision. My only issue is our reservation was delayed almost 25 minutes, on top of showing up 15 minutes early. read more

After buying ticket online we had a 5 pm slot but due to the business of the weekend, we didn't start till 5:30 pm. After suiting up on our bomb jacket( which you don't need till the end) we enter the rooms which will test your physical & mental fortitude along with teamwork. I came here not fully knowing what to expect outside of always seeing people walking out smiling and talking excitedly. I walked away wanting to come back with friends, family, or a corporate event. You will have fun, you will think, and you may even break a sweat. We booked an activity which consisted of 4 games each lasting 10 minutes that tested your thinking, agility, communication, and teamwork. At the end of each game, you got an assessment of your teams performance and time added to your fifth and final challenge - trying to complete a game together in the time that you have earned through the previous 4 challenges. As the name suggests, if you do not beat the challenge, than a paint or foam bomb goes off covering your team (you are in a hazmat suit that protects your clothes). Definitely memorable, fun, and provides us with some great photos and videos from the experience. There were a number of families and teenagers in there and we certainly skewed older as a "parents night out" crowd. That being said, they had a bar, music, and the chance to watch other teams work through the challenges and compare scores. I'll be back again to take another chance at beating the bomb! read more

Came here multiple times! The best way to describe Beat the Bomb entails video games with spy games in real life. There's two different paths: 1) paint ball (the original) 2) foam ball The games for the two are slightly different but there are also some overlap like the laser maze! This place is perfect for both a friend group and double date (I've tried both paths!). For the foam bomb, they do end up splattering you with paint as well at the end -- some of it ended up getting in my eyes and I was not expecting any paint to shoot at us! So, make sure you close your mouth! Highly recommend as a must-try thing to do similar to squid games. You don't die though, of course! It's about 50-60$/person. Tip: It's very hot when you're playing the games so I recommend dressing lightly. They do have lockers for you to store your items for free. Use them! Store any jackets or keys! You can bring in your phone in the game rooms. Side Note: After a few times of playing these games, I could definitely seeing it becoming quite banal. Anywho, on the day I visited the establishment must've been experiencing an AC outage so it was very hot; almost unbearable. Came to DC to visit my daughter and since I'm an avid escape room player this hit my radar and I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was. Decided to book the only opening on a Saturday night and try it out. There were only three of us which I was told was just fine for the missions, they just had a minimum payment of 4. We did paint mission - there were four rooms each with different "missions" we had to complete. In each room we got 10 minutes to complete as many levels of the mission, as they increased in difficulty. Each level completed was worth a certain amount of seconds for the final (5th) bomb mission. Without telling you what is in each mission, I highly recommend you plan to come out of here sweaty. I'm in my 40's and was able bodied enough to do it, but I was drenched in sweat at the end. We ended up accumulating a little over 5 minutes, moved over to the bomb, beat that and then opted to get blasted with paint, because why not. Beating the bomb got us pins and the chance to return in the future wearing the black suits. Something about a tournament also, though I didn't pay much attention as I'm not local. We had A BLAST and will definitely look to return in the future. I love the concept and look forward to it being available in my town. read more

We booked the mission experience in advance, you go through 5 high tech video rooms and the final room is the paint bomb. This was an hour experience that flew by. The tickets were $44.95 each. The rooms are very engaging, I wish the instructions were read out versus being displayed on the wall to read. It would go fast and sometimes you weren't really aware of what you needed to do in each room. While you are playing the games you are being recorded. Each room had a camera. Overall, I had a fun time. Videos and photos are included in the price, they will email them after your experience. A few logistics to consider, make sure your group is on time. They are very strict about timing, they only give you a 10 minute grace period. I almost missed our reservation and I was about 5 minutes behind. The woman at the hostess desk wouldn't allow me to join the experience at first but then the manager Derek came out and allowed me to join the experience after paying a separate $50 fee. Once you book, all sales are final even if someone in your group doesn't show up. However, they will reimburse you with a voucher. Make sure you bring an extra pair of clothes, even though they give you gear to protect your clothes, I got the paint on my clothing. You will have to sign a waiver and there are lockers to store any of your items. There is plenty of street parking and garage parking. read more

This was a great way to celebrate a friend's birthday. We really didn't know what to expect. We checked in at our appointed time and were outfitted with white jumpsuits and googles. We started with the puzzle rooms. This was hilarious and quite challenging. After going through all of the rooms we made it to the bomb room. Well to beat the bomb we all had to work together to manipulate a device and possibly beat the bomb. Needless to say, we didn't beat it! A fun time was had by all. We also played some games in a lounge area and had a few drinks afterwards. We were able to find close paid street parking. There's also a parking garage not far from here.
