I've used West Air for my furnace and now AC. Recently encountered issues with our old AC (original…read moreto house, 30+yrs). Had another service place out and they said it was a freon leak and they filled it up with freon but couldn't diagnose the leak. Unit didn't work at all a day later. I called West Air to quote on a new AC. Owner said that it would be worth diagnosing the unit before replacing it. I assumed it was beyond repair since we had just filled it up with freon. Owner strongly encouraged me to diagnose it first just in case there was a chance they could fix the leak and buy us a few years more with our AC. Sure enough his tech went out there and actually found two leaks and sealed them up. Also found that the previous company had overcharged it with freon to the point it wouldn't work. Bottom line: the unit works! Appreciate the good customer service when they could have easily just said to replace it.

They fixed everything the other company missed and were quick and easy to work with. We'll go back for a vent clean up this summer since it's been 3 years and we'll be doing another dusty house project this year. They'll be our go-to for future vent cleaning needs!

They did a great job. $425 for 15 vents, $15 per vent thereafter, plus tax. Their first tech did a…read moreuseful analysis and showed me photos, and then the second brought another guy and together they did ~20 vents in an hour. They use a big vacuum that hooks up directly to the furnace intake, then a generator on their truck powers a compressed air sprayer with little agitating whips on it to get into everything. Then they share before and after photos. They also navigated other vendors using the same rooms at the time. A couple of small issues: the cleaning had to be rescheduled because of illness. Things happen! When they did come for the rescheduled time, they were 30 minutes early, which meant I had to leave a meeting to meet them, but it was just a minute or two for them to get started. Also, they will make holes in the ducts to get into areas they can't reach from the vents, and then they plug them. The plugs are black, and in this case I have some exposed vents that are white to match the walls, so the plugs are a little ugly.

I had an…read moreunfortunate situation where a furnace drain hose was bumped out of place by one of this company's independent contractors causing a leak in my ceiling weeks before my house was to close to a new owner. My claim was declined. The insurance company required unrealistic things like a photo of the space prior to incident showing the hose in place. Who takes pictures of their furnace? This resulted in a costly last-minute repair to my ceiling. Essentially this means that you are at the mercy of a potential crappy insurance policy carried by the contractor and that the owner takes no personal responsibility for potential damage.

We looked around and read many reviews. We decided to contact Twin Cities Furnace Cleaning. They did not answer the phone right away but I received a call very quickly. I explained the situation and how we have some allergies, and they took the time to listen and go over all the details. They then recommended Steve who is the go-to guy when it comes to allergies as well as other things related. We set up an appointment with Steve, and Steve arrived early. He set up his equipment and was very mindful about making a mess as well as getting things dirty and wet. He took his time to explain as well as show me what was going on and answer all my questions. Because of allergies Steve took his time and made sure each vent was cleaned as best as possible. The things I saw in the ductwork were scary, which had built up over the years of this property. After he was done, we swapped the air filter and within 20 minutes of running, I could smell the difference in the air. The air felt lighter and did not have a heavy feel. Also, my air purifiers were not reading off the charts anymore. Steve did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend him as well as Twin Cities Furnace Cleaning. I ended up getting their Ultimate cleaning or whatever the highest one was, and compared to other places, it was cheap. The price you pay for what you get is a bargain. It ended up being $541.00 with tax and worth every penny.

I had an HVAC guy from a reliable referral whom was quick at what he did, but did not seem to go the extra mile. I saw a Groupon online and thought, what the heck, I need my AC Unit checked for the summer. I quickly set an appointment and that was that. During this time, my furnace stopped working. I called BZ on a Saturday morning expecting to get a voicemail only to have my call taken! Brad was empathetic and said he could move my appointment up so that could be taken care of. Brad did everything he said he would do on the Groupon and more! While my last HVAC guy never bothered to inspect why the hot/cold air distribution in the home was so uneven despite pleading with him to make it better, Brad found where the dampers were closed and jammed and worked hard to free them allowing for a more even flow! I seriously cannot emphasize how happy I am about this. Thanks a million Brad! You've exceeded my expectations and you certainly have earned the spot as my new HVAC rockstar! It's certainly nice to meet someone who enjoys taking pride in exceptional workmanship and service!

They even suggested recharging the air conditioning in our new home for a fee while they were at it, so we did of course. Like anything else, homes need maintenance and we found out our A/C went bad shortly after. Time for a new one. BZ's was there to help! Here's where things went bad...at the time of the AC install, Brad tells us that the rebate process can be a real pain in the butt. We kind of thought that was odd. Keep in mind we just paid them almost $3,000...this was August of 2016...at the time we didn't care about a rebate. We just wanted to have A/C in our new home. Didn't even think about it. No big deal. Well, a year has now passed. We still haven't received our rebate from Excel thanks to BZ's Comfort Air. We've probably called him 4x in the last 12 months. Not a single returned call. Excel Energy is holding our $400 rebate because Brad couldn't answer a simple question on the appropriate form. They won't allow another contractor to resolve the issue either. In the big picture it's not really about $400...it's about having integrity. If you're going to hire somebody...do you really want someone who's only going to return your calls when it benefits THEM? I'm not even sure I'd get a phone call returned if our air broke down at this point. If you're only looking for upfront work...I guess I would suggest using BZ's Comfort Air. If you're looking for follow up/maintenance work...I can't say I'd say the same. Haven't had a phone call returned since writing the $3,000 check. If that's what you're looking for then pursue at your own risk. Bush League Brad
