Heard bad things about this place from people in the neighborhood but once I walked in and was greeted by the lovely cashiers, I knew they were just butthurt over the change over . Heard complaints that "it doesn't feel like a good store not like our small jensens" but asked and found out that they were a big corporation and now it's a proper small buisness which is insane but all the negative comments aside from the locals, this place is great! Very tidy and a bit pricey but it's a small buisness what do you expect and honestly it is not even that much more than the staters down the road. I have the common sense to realize that the economy is tight so small buisness is gonna seem shady when it really is not even the case. The employees are super transparent and understanding, I even have seen the owner out there on the floor working with their staff. Despite this long review I only bought a case of beer, which they have a large variety of. I hope more people stop complaining about stuff they don't know anything about and appreciate that we finally got a renovated REAL small town store read more

The good: They have little Melissa and Doug shopping carts for kids here which was so cute. My son enjoyed that a lot. They also sold a lot of cute stuffies by the front. I came here and got s'mores ingredients with fancier chocolates. It was interesting that they sold Korean turtle chips. There were lots of alcohol options. The bad: We were looking for Christmas ornaments or souvenirs that might work as a Christmas ornament but didn't find any. The interesting: Across the street is Wrightwood Market which is actually just a gas station store. We were confused and first went to the "market" but found our way to the actual market here. read more

Great well-stocked grocery store! If you're renting a cabin in the area or need supplies for camping, this is your spot. Plus, they also have a deli (I ordered a delicious turkey sandwich). Prices were actually really great, especially for a vacation-spot grocery store. If I were a local, I'd probably shop here on a regular basis. Service was super friendly. Huge parking lot. Cute little store in the mountain town of Wrightwood. The inventory is stacked neatly and reminds me of something out of a 1950s tv show. They offer a diverse range of foods but some might be at a higher price range, for instance the plant based items are a little high here but on the positive they sell Thrifty ice cream!!!! A pint is $2.99 and they also sell larger sizes! I didn't visit their produce section this time but they have snacks and anything you'd need at a grocery store. The cashier was friendly as were the people in line with me. Lots of parking available. Would visit again. read more

Nice people, yummy deli, DO NOT buy the fruit! Their supplier seems to stock them with B grade fruit. Small, shriveled cherries, pithy watermelon, unripe plums, nectarines, peaches apricots. I've tried 3 times and am always disappointed. This department needs quality control daily. read more

I love this place and have been a loyal customer for a while now. I've loved their deli and find myself getting sandwiches a lot. Recently, i'm not sure what's changed but quality has gone down a lot in terms of their deli. My requests are constantly ignored. Past three times, i've given the benefit of the doubt but it's honestly ridiculous now. I work in food service and know the annoyances that can occur but I'm paying for a service and am not getting this service. For instance, ordered a BLT. Requested no onion and for it to be toasted. They say, "it comes toasted" but the last THREE times i've gone, they won't toast the damn thing. Not only that, they put ONION in it??? I don't know I love this place but I'm getting frustrated, I hope things change for the better. read more

I have lived in wrightwood for over 35 years. It was so sad to see Jensens go. The previous staff were so polite and dressed professionally. The new owners and staff look and act like they were picked from the streets of the ghetto. Please do better with appearance and customer service. Please make sure when you hire a boy in his 20s, make sure he isn't a lazy. I came in around 8-06pm before closing today, I was considerate and made sure the lines were empty. I gave him $5.50 in quarters, which only took 15 seconds or less to count. I quickly organized them in piles of 4 to make it easy to count since he was a most likely uneducated and probably couldn't count. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ He then made a remark "Next time, it is cash bills only." He made it sound like I dropped a big jar of pennies on the counter that took 20 minutes to count. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I am sure there are 1000 teenagers that live in Wrightwood willing to work for this market instead of driving down 30 miles or more for a job. Excellent full-service grocery store/supermarket! They keep making changes that seem make the place bigger, and the store is always very clean inside. I highly recommend the deli, very good selection, and wonderful staff. They have a large beer Cove now. read more

Great store within walking distance to my cabin. I pick up extras there. Today I will stop by for crushed tomatoes, mozzarella, and fresh garlic for a pizza I am making. They carry all kinds of specialty flours for those of us who bake. very convenient and charming place. read more

I absolutley love what the new owners have done with the place! So much fresh produce for a small mountain town shop, and tons of veggie, vegan and gluten free options. The new employees are so much nicer too. Its a great go-to for a picnic lunch or a small shopping trip for essentials. We really are so lucky to have such a wonderful resource in a small mountain town. Be careful what you buy. They sell a lot of expired food. We purchased a frozen pizza that had obviously been left out to melt and refrozen because when we opened it, it was a big ball of pizza. God knows how long it was left out for. I've come across many instances where they are selling expired food and even at a discount! So they must know it's expired. My dad actually got sick because he at tamales from here that had gone bad months before he purchased them. It is absolutely unacceptable. They need to stop focusing on the liquor section and start taking care of their perishable food items. read more

Genuinely the worst store in Wrightwood, possibly the worst grocery store I have ever visited. The prices are unreasonably high-- you have to pay an arm and a leg to get anything here. The selection is not the best. The shelves are a disaster and there's whole sections you can't get to because for some reason they decided to do renovations in the worst possible way WHILE the store is open. Like, no one is that desperate to go to an overpriced grocery store, especially when there's another, cheaper one only a few miles away. Just close up for a few weeks and come back when you're done. That would all be bad enough, but the staff are bad as well. Most of them are rude and impatient, and once an employee at the deli laughed in my face because I asked a sort of silly question. And the owner-- Michael or Mike or whatever his name is-- is a super shady and sleazy and rude guy and clearly has no clue how to run a business. I honestly hate this store and I hope I never have to go back-- the handful of times I've been inside have been more than enough for a lifetime. read more
