When we spoke with Karen she explained that they only board 7 dogs at a time, and take care to reduce health risks. Our bulldog had a great time, with lots of one-on-one time to play with the owners and other dogs boarding. Also a plus is that their fees are so much more reasonable than kennels in Manhattan. We started using their pet grooming first. Nikki is the absolute best! She has taken our nervous boy and works with him to help him look his best. That brings me to their amazing Doggy daycare. This is not just a kennel you drop your fur-baby off at. This is all out playtime with different activities and a lot of interaction. They take tons of photo's and post them online daily. If the weather is bad, the activities come inside. In the summer, they even have a kiddy pool outside! Shaggy is in small dog play and from the pix, has so much fun. When he gets home, he is exhausted but happy. Their boarding facilities look topnotch as well and we will find out next month how our baby likes having a sleepover!

The two females on staff were very welcoming and showed me around the facility. The outdoor space for dogs is very large and grassy and looks very nice. They have indoor space to board dogs by themselves and those rooms look nice as well, one caveat is if you want your dogs to be kenneled in these rooms by themselves it's an extra $10 per day . But when I went into the kennel area where most of the dogs are that are there for boarding and daycare, the stench of ammonia smell would knock you over. Apparently this area is not very clean and hygienic. There were no dogs outdoors at the time, they were all in these cages in the kennel. I did ask if they got out and was told that the dogs were taken out several times a day. I would've expected to see some dogs outside but there were none. I certainly wouldn't take my dog there to be kept in that smelly situation because as soon as he got home, he would need a bath. I couldn't get the ammonia smell out of my nostrils for hours! Also, the staff leaves at 6 PM and doesn't return for the day until 6 AM so if you board an animal there they have to hold their urine for 12 hours which I think is completely unacceptable!

She was rehomed to us by a woman who could no longer keep her. Roxy;s first lesson was to learn how to walk properly without distraction. our first lesson went well and Roxy responded well. Alex and Alena are the new owners of Waggs-and-Woofs in Stillwater, and they have proved to be a…read moregodsend to us. Like many dog "parents," we hate leaving our dogs when we go away. We had a person who would stay in the house for several years with them. However, she retired, so we were left trying other boarding facilities. Our pups always came how smelling awful from the stark conditions in which they were boarded. Our new pups have only been boarded at one other place, which we did not care for, so based on a recommendation from our niece, we called Alex and Alena for boarding for our recent vacation. It turned out to be the best call ever. They are the new owners who recently took over the operation, which is fantastic. We were escorted on a tour of the facilities and blown away. A huge play area where they provide daycare and dogs can mingle. Boarding accommodations are excellent, with beds and exceptionally clean, climate control, and even ceiling fans. You would never know they had been boarded when we picked them up. They were clean and didn't have that boarded odor. The best part for us is that the operation is at their home. Unlike other places, they don't lock up and leave the pups overnight. They are there! They play, walk, and care for the dogs every day. They are truly caring and amazing people. We wish them many years of success and look forward to boarding with them whenever we leave. In fact, we already booked our next visit. In our opinion, there are not enough stars in the universe to award them with!

I reported to the staff that the dog was seriously submissive and that I was concerned he might think he was being abandoned. I expressed trepidation about leaving having witnessed the dog shake violently with a simple hair brushing session in the first week. Heather and her staff spoke softly and took time to let my dog feel safe in the new setting. They asked lots of questions and planned for a slow and gentle two hour experience to allow my dog to take breaks. To my surprise he quickly became acclimated which I am convinced was due to the generous spirits of the staff. I was able to leave feeling confident that my dog was in compassionate and competent hands. 90 minutes later I got the call to return for my pooch. He was handsome and happy! The staff reported he had a positive experience which was very apparent in his demeanor. Thrilled! The price was on the high side but I don't care. The establishment is immaculate, the setting warm and the staff highly skilled. These folks love what they do and it's represented in a variety of ways from the moment you walk through the door. It's a bit of a trek to get to this business and it doesn't look like anything special from the outside and that's okay too. They treated both me and my dog with heart and skill. That means everything.
