I had the All American burrito with a side of chips and guacamole. The burrito was disgusting. The cheese was very low quality and overpowered the other flavors. The brisket was actually decent but I had to pick it out to try. Chips tasted store-bought. Guacamole tasted like a lemon, probably to help preserve the avocado color. Service was fairly easy and very quick. Not sure how I feel about filling out a form to place my order, however. read more

Really impressed by the safety precautions they are taking for COVID. You place your order on a sheet and hand it to them through the window, even the pens / pencils used are marked as used / unused. Food quality is poor, they're not using fresh ingredients. Brisket is hard, cold and like shoe leather. Ordering system is awkward and the dude is rude. Food safety doesn't seem to be on the top of list here either, when you look beyond the counter you'll see. When I asked is there are picnic tables or seating suggestions, he replied the great outdoors.. save your money and eat somewhere else. Quick and tasty take out! I appreciate that they have you highlight an order form to minimize talking, and provided hand sanitizer next to the order forms. Interesting and good idea for bowls, poor execution. I really loved the idea of a Mac and cheese bowl & the option of getting brisket, but everything we got here was BLAND. Not a bad little taco joint especially compared to what else is in town. 2 beef tacos with every topping available and a drink was $9. It was definitely filling for what it was too. Meat had a little too much oil in it so it made for some very messy but good tacos. I would definitely come back for them again. read more

Walked up to the window after seeing a line in the street on July 4. The menu is short, but looked pretty good. We had a few relatives with us, so we each ordered some thing different. The burrito was on par with most others, and the chips and queso really stood out as fresh, creamy and tasty. I ordered the all American burrito, but they left half of the ingredients out of my order, giving me only the mac & cheese and the brisket, which was disappointing. Two people in our 6-person party had their orders put into someone else's bag and had to wait for their food to be made again. This could probably be chalked up to the holiday and making a lot of food in a hurry, but just figured I'd leave a review in case I'm not the only one. read more

This place definitely has overrated reviews on here from my experience. The food to me was neutral. The tacos we ordered were tasty but they all had very wet soggy "bottoms" even when we ate directly after paying. The chips and queso tasted like store bought chips and canned nacho cheese with jalapeños put in it. Friendly service but nothing was impressive to us! Very neutral, basic food. We decided to visit this place based off the amazing reviews. I ordered the macaroni and cheese. It was not fresh, it was sitting in a metal container. You can dress it up whichever way you want. Then they nuke it in a oven for a little bit. i have definitely even made better mac and cheese. We also ordered the vegetarian sweet potato burrito. You can customize this one as well. It tasted pretty good. They have lots of different hot sauces and a hipster atmosphere. The portion sizes are pretty big. The prices are a little bit high for a non sit down restaurant. read more

This is NOT a sit down dinner place. Oh there are small tables in the courtyard and that makes it fun. The deal here is the food. Strictly Mexican in style with a little brisket thrown in. The All American burrito may be the best I ever tasted because after the elemental slow cooked brisket and mac and cheese I got to pick anything else I wanted inside that baby. Everyone says NY has the best bagels & the best pizza. NY also has the BEST BURRITOS...if you get them at Wyatt's. There are many dining & drinking options in Lake Placid. Make sure you save at least one lunch for Wyatt's. Wyatt's dad stuffs a fat burrito w savory meat & toppings. He could steer me away from salsas w cilantro because he makes everything on site. Best texmex in town!!!! This was the first take out place I went to when I went to lake placid and all I thought was when are we coming back? I had two tacos one chicken one pork. They stuff them to the max and all the topings are fresh. This is a take out place only, they have 3 seats next door. But it's in prime location so you can eat on one of the decks near by. Nothing was overly spicy you got to taste everything. They make everything inhouse and it doesn't disappoint. My only suggestion is to put guac on the side because they give you more then if they put it on your taco. I tried the mild and medium salsa and they were perfect. Not to spicy and a lot of flavor. They have vegetarian options. And the burritos are huge. And the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend this place! read more

When I went on vacation to Lake Placid, I went here to eat one day. It's your typical Tex-Mex food place, and everything here is pretty good. The interior has a couple of seats for eating in, but I wouldn't recommend it. I got my food to go and explored the small town. I had the brisket tacos, which were great. The brisket was moist and had flavor, and the prices were under $10 as well. Lots of the menu items comes with some cole slaw, which helps balance out the meat with some acidity. If you're like me and looking for some spice then you can put various types of hot sauce, each with a different degree of heat. If there's a particular one you really like, you can buy a bottle of that sauce directly from Wyatt's. read more

I came here with two friends after a full day of skiing at Whiteface, and I got the All American burrito. It was quite delicious! Inside was brisket, mac and cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese, jalapenos, and spicy salsa. I didn't want sour cream. The restaurant itself is small and there isn't much seating, but there were some seats outside so we sat there. The restaurant is part of a bigger plaza so the outside area was shielded from the wind. Anyway, the burrito was good and I liked the tortilla which was jalapeno cheddar (they also have flour and wheat), but the flavor didn't really change much. The burrito was huge and the mac and cheese added a good flavor. The burrito wasn't too well-balanced though, as all the ingredients were concentrated toward the middle and the bottom of the burrito. The brisket was soft and juicy but lacked flavor. The spicy tomato salsa wasn't very spicy (actually it wasn't spicy at all), and although I got a bit of BBQ sauce in my burrito, I didn't really taste that either. All in all a novel experience eating a burrito with brisket and mac and cheese, but the flavors need to be stronger! The burrito was also quite expensive at $10.57 post-tax. read more

I think ....the amazing reviews from this place had set my expectations up too high. We got it to go and ate it ~20 minutes later so maybe that had something to do with how it tasted? I got the build your own burrito with chipotle tortilla and chicken with lettuce, cheese, black beans and white rice. Medium salsa was a bit too spicy for my non-chili eating hubsy. It was good, but not too different from Chipotle to be honest. Maybe I should have gotten the mac and cheese burrito... The brisket sandwich was pretty yummy and lots of meat. It wasn't too dry for me, but some people in my group said it was too salty and dry. I did get some BBQ sauce and really liked it. The cole slaw was fresh and provided nice tanginess (not too much). Mexico City burrito is an unbelievably delicious vegetarian option with sweet potato, corn, peppers/onions. My 12 year-old son gobbled the quesadilla-rito, and my 10 year-old son loved the mac and cheese, and we all shared an order of nachos....layered cheese, tomato/onion/cilantro. The refried beans and black beans are both vegetarian. This is a great option for taking back to your hotel room, and they even have beer and cider by the bottle/can, available for take-out. They have a little bit of seating, but we always get take-out. We come to Lake Placid about 8 times a year, and Wyatt's is a winner every time. They are super-nice and genuinely friendly.
