The employees here are incredibly sweet and well mannered. My friend had lost her wallet, and they didn't show concern for the potentially wasted food. Instead they decided to keep her food in an area where it would stay warm so she could still enjoy her meal once she found her wallet. For a jaded New Yorker, Wyatt's, on the main drag in Lake Placid, was a miracle find. This little hole in the wall had amazing, homemade barbeque on a par with KC or Memphis, let alone NYC. We rtried the brisket, ribs, and pulled pork, and each was great. Their best sauce, a mustard based concoction, was also made on the premises, we were told. In addition, the beef tacos i tried were wonderful, with lots of cumin. if you are in the neighborhood, skip the fast food and the Sysco premade entrees at the hotels and head to Wyatt's for areal treat. read more

Very good food at a very good price. I had a veggie soft taco with jalepeno and beans and cheese, tomato, etc. Good quality. Very friendly staff. No place to sit except in the 'mall' that it's attached to, so be aware of this. I would say this is more of a takeout spot. Good spot to go when you want a little bite to eat on Main St. and don't want a sit down dinner. Will definitely stop by again next time we are in the area! read more

The rice and beans weren't very flavorful, the toppings options for the quesadilla and burrito bowl were interesting and plentiful but the end result was underwhelming. There's not much interesting food in Lake Placid and Wyatt's deserves credit for breaking that mold. I haven't had their bbq but I went back multiple times for burritos. You build your own, Chipotle-style, by choosing type of Tortilla, type of Rice, filling, and toppings. The meat is seasoned in interesting ways (I like the lime garlic steak) and unlike Chipotle they have multiple vegetarian options that go beyond mere vegetables (my wife enjoyed the Sweet Potato filling). Then they heat up your burrito in the oven before serving it to you, with the result that the tortilla has a nice browned, slightly crispy exterior. There's a shelf with about 15 different hot sauces if you want to dress it up more. They serve bottled beer too. Great, easy alternative to the steak and seafood places or Italian restaurants that are the norm here. read more

I get takeout from here every time I stay at the Golden Arrow next door. Everything I have tried is always fantastic. I like brisket lean while they usually include the fat cap while slicing, but that's my preference. Both the burritos and barbecue are always good. read more

This is an amazing tex-mex style food joint with great service. If I compare to what I generally get at a similar genre restaurant in New York, I would say that Wyatt's has the homemade feel that removes all the machine made processed flavors from your food. Even the simple guac tasted exponentially fresh and organic. Tip for ordering: Don't think one needs to go for their supreme big size burrito, we had ordered three regular burritos, pulled pork, chicken and vegetable for a party of 4 and we could barely finish those. read more

We stayed at hotel north woods right across the street and decided to give it a try. It's a north woods chipotle with less seating but better tasting food. Gotta try the adoba sweet potatoes. My wife and I split a burrito bowl grande with pulled chicken, habenjero pork, pepper and onions, brown rice, olives, cilantro, cheese, jalapeños, black beans and lettuce. Wicked tasty. Throw in some hard cider and a bottle of water and the whole bill came to $22. A bargain at twice the price. read more

I had the regular burrito with white bread, white rice, black beans, cheese, onions, jalapeño, and mild salsa, and let me tell you, it was amazing. The burrito wrapping process was so solid that nothing fell out the bottom, and overall, it tasted phenomenal. My only complaint was that the jalapeño peppers were uneven with most being near the bottom. Other than that, I have no complaints about this great, innovative restaurant. read more
