I knew it wouldn't be terribly busy Friday at 6pm since high school football has started so I stopped by. Staff is still super friendly and my server (I think her name was Molly) is one who has been there for a while. Super sweet lady and I've always enjoyed when I get to sit in her section. I usually get the steak tips but my iron has been low so I indulged in an 8 oz NY Strip with baked potato and corn on the cob. My steak was a perfect medium with awesome flavor. Much better tasting than the last one I had from there. My baked potato was super soft, easily the best one I've had from anywhere. I was disappointed in my corn though. I have always loved how buttery and seasoned the corn used to be but this time it was a little bland. Always loved this place so we decided to give it a try now that's under new ownership since we had seen it advertised as "same taste as always". We sat in the outside terrace and service was slow. Finally were able to order our tea and had to wait and wait and wait so we could ask for a refill. The steak did not have the smoke taste this place was known for. It had a sauce that tasted like steak sauce and the sweet potato fries were mostly the ends of the fries (what you find at the bottom of a bag of frozen fries) and were burnt. Forget about complaining because after the food came out, no one checked on us. We ate what we could, and waited for the waitress until we got tired and had to ask for the bill. We were a party of 10 and one of the first ones there to be seated. Jordan was our server. Half our party ordered steaks and they all came out COLD! I saw Jordan check on every table she had multiple times but ours!! One person ordered peel and eat shrimp and they also came out COLD after Jordan said they were served hot! The food was excellent. Unfortunately the customer service needs some additional training. I should never have to sit at my table hoping that my attendant is going to check on my party to make sure everything is OK. We were from Washington DC and we had visited the establishment before the outside pavilion was built. When we arrived back in the area we were very excited about revisiting. We were first questioned by the hostess about how many people were in our party. We told her 4 and she wanted the entire party to come to the reception stand. Unfortunately 2 of our guests were disabled Army War Veterans and there mobility was limited and they were not able to make it to the reception desk but they managed to make it to a table that was close to your restrooms and to your 3 large screen tvs. Your hostess attempted to seat us in a are that wasn't conducive to our needs but when we asked her could she seat us at table 13 she obliged. Upon getting settled our attendant came and after she took our drink and food request she passed by us for over 26 minutes without checking on our status. Unfortunately one of our guest requested to see the NBA Championship Game and after asking 3 different employees it fell on deaf ears. No worries. Fortunately we had another 20 members of our family that invited us to another venue and we were happily entertained. I ending I'll order takeout because the steak was exceptional. Great food! We were seated fast, not a long wait time. The portions are large. I recommend the 5 piece catfish it is seasoned well. The shrimp skewers I was disappointed it tasted like bbq shrimp i just wanted regular grilled shrimp without the bbq sauce taste. Other than that I recommend 10/10. read more

In our group 1 got the sirloin steak w/ fries 1 got the 1/2 rack of ribs w/ sautéed veggies. 1 got the grilled catfish w/ sautéed veggies. All got the salad bar. Everyone really liked their food. I've enjoyed going here for some time, but until recently I've never eaten the Filet Mignon. Mainly because I don't often feel as if I can afford it. Well I splurged this time and it was costly. How was it costly, you might ask? Well I don't know if I'll ever order anything else when I go back. This was the best tasting steak I have ever eaten. The service is and was good. I live about an hour away from this establishment. It was recommended to us by a family member. When you pull up to Wynndale's you will definitely think you have the wrong place after reading the reviews. It looks to be an old gas station. The inside is dated but clean and the people are friendly. One thing I know for a fact, THE STEAKS ARE PHENOMENAL! I'm not joking about that. Both me and my husband both got the steaks and I can tell the preparation is consistent. We plan to go back soon and I know I will probably never try anything else being the steak was so fabulous. Second time visiting this great laid back restaurant. It's no "white table cloth" establishment but the steaks should be mentioned among the great steakhouses in the country. Ole school decor that has a nostalgic look and feel. We started with cheese sticks and salads. We had the filet and 16oz ribeye with baked and sweet potatoes respectively. No frills place with hard working servers and staff making sure customers are happy and satisfied while constantly cleaning and clearing table for the next guests. These are the juiciest steaks. I'm used to a more charred steak, but my porterhouse steak from Wynndale steakhouse showed me what a juicy steak really is. My date had shrimp and potato wedges and we shared our meals. Even though we were stuffed, we couldn't stop eating. We were sad that we couldn't get more salad because it was so good and fresh, but we were too full. I'm excited about going back again really soon.(I would post pictures but we ate most of it by the time we took the picture. ) If you don't like a lot of salt like me, the steak should be fine because the flavor comes from other ingredients. But the shrimp and wedges will need to be paired with something like a baked potato to even out the flavor. It's all still very good! read more

Good as quick. Very laid back and super friendly staff. For the price it's a great meal. We both had 10oz ribeyes with shrimp. I had grilled shrimp and he had fried shrimp. He got less fried than I received in grilled. IDK if that's normal. They were out of Corona so we got a bud light, lemonade and sweet tea. The marinade on the steak and shrimp was very familiar but I can't place it. It was ok, nothing to rush back for but if your are in the Byram area it's a good dinner place. We had high hopes of this place based on reviews on Yelp, but found it mediocre at best. They had no alcohol worth drinking, the only red wine was moscada (yuck, sweet grape juice), the beer mostly American pisswater although they did have Yeungling & Corona (I wanted Guinness). The burgers were huge and adequate from what my buds told me. I had the scallops and they were okay...nothing fancy. The environment was basically a cement block building, no ambience whatsoever. They told us they were known for their steaks, and the 9 big guys that left before us told us the 20oz bone-in ribeye was the dish to order. So I guess if you're into quantity and want a hunk of meat this may be the place to come to. We won't return! read more

We live in the Jackson area but prefer to head out to Wynndale's for steaks on the weekend. The quality and flavors of their steaks is just superior to anywhere else around. Sides are delicious, and we love the salad bar. I think their prices are very reasonable too. The service is always good and more attentive than most restaurants.
