I was asked if I wanted an inspection. I agreed to that and was aware that it was going to be a charge for 4 labor hours. 1 month later I received an estimate of work totaling $3500. I agreed to that work and paid $2400 to have the work started. From that point forward it was a nightmare. I was called on June 10th to bring more money due to the many electrical issues. I paid $2500. On June 25th I was told they needed $5K more due to the repairs that had already been completed. I wasn't advised of this and felt I had no choice but to pay it. I assumed this would be the end of it. The next conversation came on July 26th where they were just now working on the hard to start issue. They felt it was the carburetor and another $1K. All communication stopped after this point. I called and visited mutiple times and finally got some action on October 8th. Of course, another $1k was needed. When I went to leave with the car, the shaved door handles did not work. They worked when I brought it there. They looked into the problem and felt it was the solenoid inside the doors. Another $1k. I picked it up on 10/24/24 (6 months from dropoff) and still the doors did not open correctly. It was clear to me they had no idea how ro work on something other than the "common" classics like a Mustang. I took my car home so that I can find someone who actually knows what they are doing and doesn't bleed the customer dry monetarily. If I would have known that $3500 was going to balloon to 4 times that amount, I would have never taken it there. I had seen their full page back cover advertisement in Cruisn News and thought they were reputable. I notice they no longer advertise with that publication. I share my story so that others will know what to expect when taking a car there for work.

"You don't know Lidio ?" That question got me to contact Alternative Auto. I have 2 Ford Mustangs…read moreand I like taking them to Milan Dragstrip. Both are wonderful cars, inevitably, like most gear heads, I wanted more torque/HP/performance. It was suggested that I take my cars to Lidio, owner of Alternative Auto. Car people do not like just anybody working on their cars, but Lidio specializes in Mustang performance. Alternative Auto is not trying to be something they are not. They work on Mustangs, period (He now does certain late model GMs). When a company specializes in one thing they tend to be experts at it. Alternative doesn't do bodywork, add neon lights, or perform cosmetic changes. Their specialty is the engine performance. Lidio is very responsive and you talk with him directly. Lidio is no poser, he knows Mustangs inside and out. He made suggestion I didn't even think of. In addition, I made some suggestion that would have not given me the bang for the buck I wanted and he talked me out of spending my money. My cars were done before I was expecting them to be ready and they were better than I ever expected. They are better than they were when they left the factory and have the increased power I wanted. I will get to the point where I want more power and I will go back to Alternative.

Bad workmanship! After the next visit loose exhaust clamps from headers alternative installed that were rattling from how loose they were. These things I took care of and never complained or mentioned because they were minor to myself. After discussing with Lidio at Alternative what my vehicle needed to run e85. Lidio recommended to have a Fore Innovations return style fuel system installed. Lidio said he would be able to order it directly through them. Also it could take up to a few months to receive. I paid alternative the entire amount that the system cost upfront. The parts came in and the car was there in September. The Car was in perfect running condition when it was brought to Alternative. While the car being there, I got a call from Lidio asking if he could buy my Fuel Pump Voltage booster. That the car was using previously on the stock fuel system. He stated that he needed it for another customers car at his shop because the brand he typically used was not working. The part was $399 before fees when I had bought it, and it was only a couple months old. He offered me a $200 credit, I told him to go ahead to be nice since my car was still there being worked on. It had a fuel system installed along with a Dyno tune for e85. When I arrived at Alternative to pick the car up, I paid in full. Lidio then turned the car on and it stalled out. I was told it was no big deal, and to bring the car back in a couple weeks. Well after about 10 days I reached out, and was told he needed some more time to be able to take the car in at the shop in order to fix the issue end of October but preferably beginning of November. I said no problem and told him to let me know when he could take it back. A month went by and I never heard back, so I contacted Lidio to see when I could bring it in. In the same chain of emails, he claims he didn't remember what I wanted to bring it back for and to remind him. Lidio said he needed another week to be able to take the car in at his shop. Finally I was able to bring it December 2. I got a call that the car was fixed and that he was able to fix the issue. I picked the car up and brought it home. Had the car trailered out of state. Then after starting the car and driving it down the road, the car began stalling out. It was trying to turn back on, but would continue to stall out and then it wouldn't turn on anymore. I was stuck in the middle of the road. So Within 3 weeks of having it back from Alternative and the car not being driven hardly at all. The car started having the same issue once again. When I reached out to Lidio he immediately claimed I must have already fried the pump. After asking if there were any warranties I was told there were not any. After just spending thousands of dollars I realized I was going to have to spend more money. After finding a shop, I asked if they could get the car up and running to be able to at least transport it back. They offered to squeeze my car into their schedule to help. Once it arrived they discovered some issues with the installation. The car had a fuel leak in the engine bay near the High Pressure Fuel Pump. The leaking fitting installed by alternative, once removed it was discovered that the threads were completely stripped and it appeared as if they just tried to seal it shut with sealant. Which could have easily caught fire had it not been caught. The pump had to be replaced as well. After the shop owner/tuner road tested the Vehicle. The Vehicle wasn't running good. He explained that the tune was faulty as well. It was then discovered there was no Boost reference line ran to the fuel pressure regulator. Then a boost reference line was added. After adding this the car had to be retuned. So after spending thousands of dollars at Alternative auto and the vehicle never ran correctly. I had to go spend thousands more to get it back up and running. I do not recommend this place!

After discovering this place why would I go anywhere else? Check out the pics and work they've done or go there and see for yourself. I'm getting ready to have my whole car repainted, add some more custom touches to it all from this shop. Guys that work here have been nothing but honest, helpful and friendly. You can't have garbage work and produce some of the custom vehicles they've done. Highly recommend, don't believe me go check for yourself if you live in the area! You wont be disappointed! I've been there and seen cutouts installed, lambo doors, custom 2 tone paint jobs, complete interior gutted and customized, custom fiberglass work and more. All top quality!!!!!
