I wish they can get a zero star. Very poor services. I went there yesterday for an acrylic set. All the corners of my fingers were not painted . The final result looked like I did my nails 1week ago. When I told her about it her response was 'my finger was too fat'. I asked her if she will fill up the spaces she responded with a sharp No. The woman that attended to me told me in a harsh way to look at the TV instead of looking at my hand. What in the ever living God?! Now I can see why this place gets horrible reviews. Very rude lady who worked on me. She would not let me talk when I kept trying to say that her nail lamp kept going out. I was in a bit of a rush and all I needed was for my nail dip to be removed. In the middle of it- she gets up and takes another client instead of finishing! So I removed my own polish. She then has the audacity to tell me she normally charges more. You can see in my picture she didn't finish taking off the polish and left my nails with weird, flat ends. read more

So I was in the area with the BFF's and a pedicure was needed (the BFF - I had just gotten one 4 days before)... So we all arrive and there are several women waiting when we get there & they tell us a little while, Time seemed to fly by... There were 3 of us, 2 went ahead and started to soak in the seats while the women finished other stuff up... Minutes later I joined them (Hey who doesnt need 2 pedicures in a week...!?) So we waited, and waited and yes I dont mind soaking in a tub for an hour, but really... Other people were walking in off the street & we were still waiting... They finally get to us & my friend got cut & the girl like giggled & didnt really do too much to ease the pain she was feeling from being cut (ooh and there was blood)... The whole pedicure/massage thing was all right, they did use a scrub which felt pretty good and being that I just had a pedicure there wasnt much to clean or scrub up... Paint, then dry and then we were done... It was ok $25 for a pedicure seems high to me... Considering where I go I get Mani/Pedi for $30 just kinda seemed like WTF... Also at my local place where I am a constant customer they know me & that might have been it too, there wasnt any going above & beyond and that might just be because we were new... I've been to this salon numerous times, and each time I've gotten a gel manicure that chips completely off within 24 hours. Yes, my nails are short and hard to paint, but I've received manicures for years with short nails and it still lasts well over a week. It seems they do not apply the base cost properly either that or the polish quality is subpar. Very disappointed. $27 plus a $6 tip only to be ruined in less than 24 hours. No nail biting or tough on nail activities, just peels off on its own. read more

This nail salon is the worst nail salon to ever plague the earth. The service was subpar and I was rushed to pick a color. Then.. the nail tech who boasted how experienced she was literally ruined my nails. She dumped pounds of poorly polished water down funny bunny on my nails, didn't clean the edges and didn't even try to fix the mistakes she made. It was $14 for this sad excuse of a nail job. steer clear if you care about the results. There's loads of other nail salons in this area - BEWARE of this dump. I went here for a pedicure on my birthday in July. The pedicure was fine and my toes looked pretty good after (mostly, one toe was smudged and I didn't notice until it was too late to go back and I didn't have time to go back later). The pedicurist did use an eletric buffer on my toenails. I was uneasy about this, because my nails are very sensitive and they often heat up with this, but it seems fine at the tie so I didn't say anything. WELL, fast-forward a month or so and the middle toenails on BOTH of my feet are torn and coming up (right at the point where the nail bed eneded with this last pedicure). Because if this, I will never go back. Also, there was nothing remarkable about the calf massage part, which, really, is my favorite part. read more

I have been here 3 times for gel manicures. I have had really good experiences every time. I have been requesting Michelle each time. She is very friendly and does an awesome job. My manicure always looks perfect and really does last the whole 2 weeks that a gel manicure is suppose to last. Michelle's hand massages are the best! I really like this place compared to others because they don't seem to be talking over you in their native language to each other as much as other places which sometimes makes you feel uncomfortable. I liked this place. It was clean, bright, tons of colors and friendly people. I called to make an appointment for saturday, there wasn't anyone at the front desk but I was helped out by a manicurist who was setting up her space. I think they had just opened, but they already had a few customers. I sat down and had a gel french. I don't know the name of the person that helped me out but he was a guy. Came in on wen. to get a fill. Typically i go to creative nails at the mall but due to the weather and the fact this place was close to home i decided to go here. The nail tech didn't listen to what i wanted. I came in with pink and white tips that where gel. Decided i just want gel polish and acrylic fill. She must have asked me 10 times gel, and seemed annoyed i went with acrylic. I picked out a shimmery white polish wanted one nail black with gold sparkles. You can see the white tips thru the polish she used. When i asked about a 3rd coat she cut me off and said no. It would be to thick. My black nail looks pink because of the polish she picked for the sparkles. Before finishing i noticed a polish that would have worked for what i was looking for, thats for design she said. Not to mention she felt it completely ok to answer her phone durn my time. I will be going to creative nails for a polish change. Also on my way out i took a pump of lotion because apprently my $35 i spent didn't warrant a hand massage at the end. read more

I agree with many previous reviewers -- this is a pretty good place and very typical for a mani/pedi salon. The women who worked there were very friendly, and did not try to push other services on me. My nail technician was Heidi, who did a great job, gave a great massage, and offered some tips on keeping my skin hydrated. She was fast, but I didn't feel like I was being rushed, and my nails and toes look great. Note that you won't be able to add your tip to the credit card, so go armed with cash for the tip. read more

This was my second time visiting and I only visited again to give it another chance. The first time I went, I got a manicure and the nail technician was extremely unpleasant. She didn't talk to me the entire time and she sped through my nails. They were streaky and smudged immediately. The second time I went, I got a French pedicure which turned out pretty decent. I've been here before for pedicures, but this time, the tech seemed very bored with the procedure. I had a "regular" pedicure. She messed up the big toe on my right foot polishing it. I discovered this as I was leaving. I never bumped it on anything. She appeared to fix it, but when I got outside, it was even worse in the light. I did not have time to go back and have it fixed twice. And there was just too much talking going on with the tech next to us; talking to her client and then speaking her language to the tech working on my feet. It was very annoying and not relaxing at all. I most likely will not go back. I had to go home and fix the toenail polish myself with polish not quite matching what I had chosen, and for a total of $40. that is just not acceptable. Okay, so the name is kinda lame, but I was pleased by the services I received here. I booked a facial and a massage because I saw an ad online for discounted services online and I had access to the car and thought it'd be a good reason to go on a little Sunday drive anyway. It was easy enough to get to from the city. The interior is pretty standard as far as nail salons go, and if they want to get more "spa" clients, they should make it more spa-like. However, it's in the strip mall, and it's pretty expected that it won't be fancy in a strip mall. I received my facial first. The estethician first took the time to asess my skin and figure out what would work best for it, which was good, and spent an hour really cleansing, exfoliating, and moisturising with various products. I would have liked additional extractions, but that's something I am a little crazy about when I get a facial, and don't really need much anyway. I walked out clean and clear, and without really irritated skin, which is really great. It was $55, which I felt was pretty inexpensive as far as facials go. I got a massage after, and that was the real bargain at $45. She really worked out the knots in my shoulder (total hot spot for where I hold tension) and my calves, which are really tight from walking around so much. It was very well worth it. I would probably come back again, primarily for massage purposes, as my skin is pretty good on it's own. I didn't get any sort of nail services, but I suspect they are good, and the place was nice and clean. The service from the time I booked to coming in was all around pleasant. read more

Like previous reviewers have said, it's in a strip mall: it's not a shi-shi spa but your typical mani/pedi palce. they do a great job with attention to detail regardin scrubbing of the soles of the feet, cutilcles, etc. i normally don't wear polish - but this time i did. it was well done, no smudging a day later (and that's mostly me not being able to keep my nails from chipping). the women who work here are always friendly and do their jobs well, it is a standard $35 for a mani/pedi and i've never been pressured for waxing, massage, facial or tanning. i appreciate that. great place, nice people. tips only in cash. read more

It's always best if you can make an appointment here, but they're pretty good about getting walk-ins taken care of within 15-20 mins. It can be faster than that -- I'd say that's the max time I've ever waited and I go here all the time. Some of the staff here are more skilled than others, so it can be hit or miss, but it's generally more hit than miss. They're better than other places with not making rude comments to customers and I think are more efficient in general. The spa pedicure is worth the price hike. read more

I went yesterday for a pink and white fill and a spa pedicure. The spa pedicure was good not great and the pink and white fill was horrible. An older lady Linda did it. She clearly did not have any experience in pink and white powder. My nails were bumpy and uneven. I had to go to the Natick mall to have them fixed. I will never go back. read more

Not coming back. This is my second time going to X-cited nails in recent years. I live in Brighton but visit my parents a lot in Marlboro so I switched it up and got a fill here. I may as well have stayed at the upscale salon I usually go to in the Back Bay, as their prices are similar yet the Back Bay salon does my nails exactly how I like them. Thin, coffin shape, flaw free. X-cited seems to charge me more every time I come here, and for a mediocre job no less (totally changed the long, thin coffin shaped nails I had & loved). I'm assuming it's because I'm young and female. The woman who did my nails charged me $32 for a FILL. i use gel powder (but regular polish), and get a 'special shape'. When I called out the fact that I was being charged significantly more than last time, she knocked off $5 bucks. Pass. I will continue to go to Treasured Hands in Back Bay for a full set and know I'll be getting what I paid for, and Creative Nails in Brighton for my $18 fill- both salons being far better than X-cited. read more
