Where am I, anyway? Googling the neighborhood of X-Marks the Spot - Chestnut Hill & West End. Sandwiched between row homes, on this quiet, tree lined street, is a little slice of soul heaven. Only a few tables, and one sheet of food pictured paper menu, sits on the counter, where you order and pay. I had some minor gripes, but they're livable (in my book). First of all, I felt the music was a wee bit too loud. I know though, had I expressed this, the volume would have been lowered and no questions or weird looks, asked. Let's get down to the chow, yes lawd - fried fish, collards & mac n' cheese. Portion sizes, ample - enough for breakfast the next morning. Thin, crisp, spiced right coating on that perfectly cooked fish. X's rendition of mac n' cheese, the addition of chili's and the gooey factor, there.. so there. Don't even get me started on their greens. Hope no one sees this, but.. I drank the greens broth; that's how good it was. Cooked tender, a slight tang, a bit of heat and a faint touch of sweet. I was almost tempted to order another go round of collards, but my acid reflux started kicking in. One other gripe, which I feel should be mentioned was the hubby's spicy fried fish sandwich, where the heat came from a pouring of hot sauce onto the fish, suggest to kick it up a notch through the spice, instead. I'll be back, though - get me more of those collards and a box of antacids. Hey, you only live once.

The food was seasoned well and had good flavor, especially the greens. The portions were sizeable, and the customer service was appreciated. The location was perfect and had plenty of seating options.

It was my favorite place in the market! I ordered twice from here during my 3-day visit to Lancaster. If it was open on Easter, I would've ordered a third time. First day, I ordered the fried fish dinner. The fish was whiting and it was delicious! It came with 4 pieces. The fish was crispy and seasoned perfectly! I really enjoyed and mac and cheese and the greens were yummy. The tartar sauce was also delicious. The second day I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, mac and cheese again and rice pilaf for the sides. The sandwich is HUGE! I had to share with my husband. The service was also great! The young lady was very nice!

Hands down one of the best places I've been. Large portions and tasty food. If you feel like fried food, given them a try.

(Note: I've often found this restaurant space to be cold inside, even when it was Home 231.) We were served by an incredible young server, Jonathan, who looked after our every need. We were also visited tableside by Chef/Owner Geno Goodman, and had a nice conversation about the restaurant biz. Our food was delicious. We started with the smoked deviled eggs, which were nicely smoked and seasoned. B had a special, branzino, with collards and Mac and cheese. I decided on a small rack of ribs with collards and corn on the cob. Everything was simply wonderful. The ribs were falling off the bone and amply sauced. We were interested in desserts, but decided against until next time. That won't be too long. I think we have a new Harrisburg favorite! Thanks, Geno and Jonathan!

LOCATION: This new location sits on the second floor of a building. Steps are pretty narrow, so I can't imagine the elderly being able to climb a flight and a half of steps to enjoy such delicacies. So the new location is absolutely beautiful and more fancy than their old location. I love the ambiance. I went there on a Saturday at approximately 4:00 p.m. and there was Zero clientele. It seems like this place may have lost a lot of customers due to the location being on the second floor, but I could be wrong. I'll be honest, very clean, well lit with many slits of skyline above. I love the decor it still reminds me of Old San Juan, along with the Spanish music playing in the background. FOOD: amazing as always, even though I was struggling because they removed one of my favorite dishes from the menu, which was ropa Vieja. You get a lot of food on your plate, and all of the dishes are very flavorful and cook to order. CUSTOMER SERVICE: I love how attentive the staff were even though we were the only ones in the place. The waitress is very knowledgeable about the dishes and extremely accommodating. I wanted something simple to drink like a lemonade, and they made me some from scratch, so I was so thankful. I would definitely recommend coming to this place if you're looking for authentic San Juan dishes
