Normally very good food but my chicken cesar salad last night was soggy with watered down dressing. The hair found in my salad was a nice touch as well. The place has a very loud and echoing atmospher thats certainly non accomodating to conversation at the dinner table. The table next to us was being over served with alcohol and the intoxicated patrons added to the uncomfortable setting. You can only blame all of this on management. I wont be going back. read more

I love this restaurant! They have the BEST steak in town. If I want to DoorDash something it is typically from here. They have a beautiful patio and the bar area is casual and fun BUT know if there is a band it can be really loud so if you're going to dinner with someone you don't want to have a conversation with this is your place. They also have a much quieter area for sit down more formal dining which is wonderful. The service is normally outstanding. The menu is great. I have never had a bad meal here. To begin, my wife and I are not the biggest meat eaters. That being said, the flavor from the 30 day age process was one of the most flavorful cuts of meat I've ever had, the service was excellent! I can't remember our server's name, but the quality of service and hospitality was of the highest quality(had a really hard sunburn). Bar staff was completely inattentive. We had to yell to get their attention to order our food as we'd set there with 1 menu to share between my girlfriend and myself while the patron who came in after us sat down and had his order taken before ours. When she finally took our order she must have made a mistake because the only time I saw the manager was when he came to correct the error on the pos system. We ordered oysters as an appetizer that were good but then waited forever for our meals. When the meal finally arrived the steak I ordered medium rare came out rare. I didn't send it back because it had taken forever by that time and I was tired of looking at my girlfriends empty drink glass and having to wave my arms like an idiot to get their attention. The side dishes looked like they had been sitting under a heating lamp forever as well. The patron who came in after us was leaving and let the staff know how bad they were at their job because he had asked for a wine list to have a glass with his meal and never received it and told them they were too concerned with breaking down the bar at 9 pm than attending to the full bar of customers. Thank you patron sitting next to us for speaking up so I didn't have to. After that one of the bartenders became overly nice and attentive as we payed out. That's why I'm giving two stars over 1. The place is nice and has potential but management needs to have some serious training or there needs to be a management change. I've owned a restaurant and worked as a bartender for nearly 20 years and hate to see these issues in a place with the potential X- seems to have. I'll try it again if I ever come back through Amarillo simply to see if it was just an off night but I would not recommend based on my experience. read more

I ate here for a birthday party for my friend on a Friday evening. In short, it's not good. I ordered a mojito the sirloin steak with a Caesar salad and the loaded steak fries. The dinner rolls were pretty good, the mojito I got was pretty good, and the Caesar Salad I had was really good. This is why I'm giving them two stars instead of 1. However the rest of the experience wasn't great. The bathroom was small and didn't have adequate ventilation so it smelled horrible in there. The waitress had a major attitude which didn't really bug me too bad. She probably was having a bad night which happens to everybody once in a while and sometimes you have to do the best you can. Her service was pretty fast and she got everybody's order correct. However, this was the WORST steak I've ever had in my life. I ordered it rare and it was properly cooked but it was SO chewy. So much gristle it was practically inedible. The steak "fries" weren't anything terrible but they were very large house fries. I wouldn't want to eat them again. Overall it was a very disappointing food experience and I wouldn't go back. read more

Reserved a table for mommy's and daddy's night out. If you haven't been here don't waste your time or your money. Our waitress was sweet when she brought us our salads the lettuce was pink and looked like it had been sitting for days. It is always good to see people come and support local businesses especially in this time where businesses are having a hard time surviving. I came on a weekend night and it was packed. I decided to call in and get my food to go . When I came in , I think there was supposed to be two people working the front, but all there was a young boy cleaning menus that ignored everyone that walked in, never greeted anyone just stood there cleaning menus. This was a miss and the thing to remember is this was the first impression when you come in to an establishment, I did not wait to for him to acknowledge me (was not going to happen) so I went inside and was immediately greeted by a hostess. Very cheery and helpful. I went to the bar , paid for my food and left. I blame myself for not checking the bag before I left- I had ordered a Caesar Salad, that did not make it into the bag but I guess these things happen,. On to the food : Potatoes with bacon, cheese etc. - These were steak fries cubed and loaded with cheese, bacon, etc. Very tasty and definitely a 2-3 personal appetizer. Chicken Fried Steak- possibly the best Chicken Fried Steak I have every had and yes I know, I live in Texas and everyone marks this standard but this was really well executed- tenderized meat, just enough breading and nice gravy as a compliment - worth the money - you won't be disappointed, Lobster Mac and Cheese- it was good but with there was more and wish it was more cheesy. Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie- the attendant who took my order on the phone told me this was the best and she was right on the money. The vanilla ice cream balanced to the rich chocolate and peanut butter of the brownie perfectly. So good. At any rate, I would come back again and try more menu items including the steak assortment but I think the front needs.to be reviewed or at the very least put someone up there who can smile and present the best to compliment the very good food. read more

I was over charged and treated terribly after questioning the number of items on my ticket. When I asked the server about it she brought the manager, and he was ruder than I've ever encountered. It was Rodney Leal, who represented himself as the owner. I will never return after the way I was treated and paraded about all of the staff. LOUD, REALLY REALLY LOUD. Not just loud in the bar area, but loud in the dining area, and not even when the 2 person band was playing. Something about the overall atmosphere. We went on a Friday night, had reservations, initially sat in the bar while we waited. Drinks were great, prompt, and tasty. The 4 of us literally had to yell at each other all night. Our friend with hearing issues could not hear a thing we were saying. Initially they sat us at a table in the bar, we asked to be moved, they told us we'd have to wait for a new table and that it would be a long wait. We immediately complained to our server about the noise and amazingly enough a table opened instantly. We were shocked at how loud the dining area was, it was better, at least we didn't have to yell at each other, but still very loud. The steaks were good, tasty, nothing over-the-top-amazing. Everything was cooked to order, nothing to complain about. Our server was great. Took fantastic care of us. Unless they do something about the noise level however, we won't be going back. We ate here twice in a close timeframe. The first time for dinner and the second for lunch. Our dinner experience was fabulous with a perfect food and service experience. The lunch experience was not as good. At lunch, we got there about 1:15 pm and there were only 4-5 tables being used, so they were not busy. The service was slow and the meat was not nearly as good, nor cooked to order. The only con of the nighttime dining is that it is extremely loud and hard to carry on a conversation while dining. It has all concrete stained floors and very high industrial style ceiling, so it echos and is very loud when the restaurant is full. It is a very nice establishment with reasonable prices. Our meal with two steak plates, a few drinks, and desert was about $75. Do NOT skip desert! Their strawberry cheesecake is one the best I have ever eaten! It is a large piece, so it is shareable and it is worth every calorie! The only reason I gave this a 4 star is because my lunch experience was not pleasant. Otherwise, it is a 5 star. Recently went to X- for our anniversary dinner. It was a Wednesday night so we didn't think it would be busy enough to need a reservation. Arrived and was told by the hostess it would be a few minutes while they bussed a table. We were seated 20 minutes later, but our waitress (Tacie) promptly took our drink order. We attempted to order our dinner but were told they were out of prime rib. Instead I ordered a sirloin and my husband ordered a t-bone. Our food arrived in a decent time by another server who did not ask us to cut into our steaks or if we needed anything else. My sirloin was ordered medium but had no pink at all. My husband's t-bone was ordered medium rare, and had very light pink. Our server had gotten busy at the bar and it was at least 20 minutes before we were able to flag her down to come to our table. We tried to get the attention of a manager, but he was chatting with other employees at the bar. By the time our server returned and we were explaining our steaks, we did not have time to wait around for then to re-cook. She was very apologetic and spoke to the manager who did comp our steaks. When the manager (Adriel, I believe) came over, he did not try to speak to us about our experience, look at our steaks, or anything like that. He simply handed us a $25 voucher and said hope you give us another chance and walked off. ​We've been to X- several times before and it was ok, but they definitely missed the mark this time around. We had a reservation but they did let us know when making the reservation they were squeezing us in so we did have to wait like 45 minutes even though we had a reservation. Everyone enjoyed their food. It was delicious and reasonably priced. The service was great but definitely their cocktails were overpriced for the amount and quality we received. Kinda shocked at all the nasty reviews. This was our first time in. We came for Father's Day dinner. Had a ribeye Oscar style, wife had coconut shrimp. We were literally in and out in 40mins (made reservations for 6:15). Steak was great and cooked right. Kelsey, our server, was great!!! Noise level was up there a little (only noticed because of the previous reviews), but if you are looking for quiet/romantic, good luck finding that in AMA anyway.
