I decided to get a couple of tickets to parasail with my girlfriend. The overall process was smooth and we were just able to drive over and park since we live here and didn't have to deal with any hotel pickup fiasco like some other reviewers. Parking was easy and cheap at the beach park. However, it definitely turned into a "hurry up and wait" situation. We arrived about 5 minutes before the time they listed we needed to be there, then once we checked in we'd have about half an hour before we take off. No biggie; I get buffer times to make sure people actually show up on time. But then we had to wait about an additional 45 minutes AFTER our "takeoff" time because the tour before us was running behind schedule. Basically our schedule was for 12:00 p.m. They told us to be there at 11:30. We ended up not getting on the boat until like 12:45. It was a minor inconvenience to us but if you're a tourist trying to pack your schedule with stuff to do, a tour running almost an hour late can suck. The boat ride itself was pleasant enough. I enjoy being out on the water and it was a great day. However, the staff was super boring. When you're sitting on a boat riding out to the parasail launch location, it can be pretty boring and the staff should be there to hype everyone up. Instead they just put on some music and the captain and mate barely said anything except for some basic safety instructions. And of course that they'd take your picture up in the air for a whopping 30 bucks. Yikes. The whole thing just felt very impersonal. Almost like us and the other couples were just cattle. Get on the boat, hook us up, fly for a few minutes, come down, next couple, ride back. That was it. So I'm glad that there are companies that do this kind of stuff because parasailing is a fun thing to do and I think the overall price was reasonable. But the tour running late and very impersonal experience left a lot to be desired. read more

My bf and I had a great time parasailing in Honolulu! I bought the groupon for $40 for 2 people (got an extra discount, the groupon is normally $70/2 people), and set a reservation online easily! We got to the dock nearly an hour early so we got to chill for a little at the Ala Moana Beach Park, which is kinda rocky but still gorgeous! We went back to the dock 5 minutes until our reservation at 4 pm, and got on the boat with a few other couples. The crew was very friendly and informative, and they played great music! Unfortunately I don't remember their names. Parasailing is definitely something you must do in Hawaii! The views are gorgeous, and you can see Waikiki and Ala Moana really clearly. It's awesome being so high up in the sky! Remember to bring a waterproof camera/gopro or waterproof baggy for you phone, so you can take pictures when you're up in the air! The crew will most likely dunk you in the water, so wear clothes that you are willing to get wet! Most people just wore swim suits haha. Also, remember to tip the crew! My bf and I were the only couple that tipped in our group I believe, and we could tell that the crew really appreciated it. Support local businesses yall!! read more

Got the Groupon deal here for 2 people but had to pay extra $13 or so in taxes/fees. They didn't mention this on the Groupon. -1 Got here & checked in easy breezy. When it came to our turn to sail, the guides told us that there was oil leaking so we had to turn back & that there's a chance that we would be able to jump on another boat to try again. This was not the case when we got to shore, they told us that we would have to reschedule for another day because they were sold out for this day. This was really inconvenient because we already had our week planned out & we have to reschedule other things around to accommodate this. -1 When we came back for our run again, I had to remind them that we had to reschedule again because of their boat malfunction. They then told me that I can get an upgrade on our turn, which means to be a little longer in the air. When it came to our turn to get up in the air, it was so much fun, they kept on letting us go higher & higher! weee!! =) Overall, we had a great time & the only hiccup was the rescheduling & delay. Tip: Be sure to book your appointment ASAP because they do get filled up very quickly. read more

My initial contact with them over the phone kind of made me hesitant to go there because the woman who answered the phone had a major attitude. She was very adamant about their cancellation and no show policy. They took a credit card over the phone as a deposit. I'm assuming they've had a lot of no shows in the past or last minute cancellations. She said they prefer a minimum 2 day cancellation policy. Totally understandable but she definitely didn't have to cop an attitude with me over the phone. When we got there, we checked in, signed a waiver and made the payment. There were a couple of their boats pulling in and out of the dock and we were given a choice on whether we wanted to hop onto the boat that was about to leave or wait for the next one. We opted to wait because the boat that was about to pull out was almost full. There's a seating area with a soda machine next to their shack on the dock where customers can wait for the next boat. When the next boat arrived, we were called by name and helped onto the boat by awesome captain and crew Jamal and Jay. They were very informative, helpful and shared the spirit of Aloha. They made sure we were all having fun and made sure everyone was doing ok as people tend to get sea sick here and there. Jamal took us out of the boat harbor and found a good spot for us to go parasailing. There were 8 of us on the boat (not including Jay and Jamal) and we took turns in pairs going up in the air. We were in the air for about 6-8 minutes and when we were reeled back down, we got dipped in the ocean. So if you're not willing to get wet, this is probably not a good activity for you. The total time on the boat was about an hour long, but it felt like 15 minutes. You know what they say-time flies when you're having fun! Jay took a lot of great pictures (almost 80) of us on the boat and in the air. They sell the SD card with your pictures on it for $30. Pretty good deal considering you get so many shots. Plus, fun and adventurous memories are priceless in my book. This was an awesome experience for me. I plan on going back and definitely recommend this company to anyone who is looking to have fun and see an amazing view of the south side of Oahu. Found this place on Groupon and checked out their reviews on Yelp and TripAdvisor before booking. I definitely recommend getting the Groupon! The Groupon will have a "discount code" that you can enter when you book and reserve on the website. This place is located near Ala Moana Beach. Parking was relatively easy - it's free if you park at Ala Moana Beach, but if you park at the docks I think you have to pay. There's a little ticket booth area where you check in, and then once the boats are ready, they'll walk you out to the pier and you can hop in. There were about 6 pairs per boat, if I can recall correctly, and you all get about 8-10 minutes of air time. Our boat was running a little bit late, but they said that you still get the full hour out in the water. **If you get seasick (like me) I highly recommend taking Dramamine or using a motion sickenss patch!** I only took one Dramamine pill and it wasn't enough because I STILL got nauseous. It was really windy and sprinkling a little bit when we went out, so the water was super choppy. Even when we were in the air, I got motion-sick because we were swaying back and forth. BUT!!! It was still such an INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! When you're watching other pairs go up, it doesn't look like you're very high up, but once you're up there, IT'S HIGH. We had soooo much fun, and they even ask if you want to be dipped in the water (although most times I don't think you have a choice and they do it anyway haha). If you want to have pictures taken, they give you a memory card for about $35 I believe. We opted out since I had my GoPro with me. Definitely would LOVE to do this again sometime! We had a lot of fun parasailing today with this group. Friendly-- over the phone, in the booth and on the boat. I think we went up 700 feet and it was a bit higher then the last time I did it (on a lake) which made it interesting because the waves were big so movement up at 700 feet did give a small thrill So many people think this is adventurous or thrilling... really it's mostly about the view and that is BEAUTIFUL!!! had a great time and headed to the airport. Me and my friends had a pretty good experience with X-Treme Parasail. We booked our solo "jet ski" (PWC) rides about a week before and showed up at the booth the morning of with no problems. You need to check in a little earlier than your actual appointment. I think we showed up about a half hour to an hour early. Paid our fees with the help of our Isle Discount card and got a slight discount. It came out to $60 - $65 per person after fees. A van came by to pick us up from the Ala Moana Blvd. booth and took us to their watercraft location down by sand island. The water looked great! For someone who's lived in Hawaii their whole life, I have never seen water so blue. The "instructor" picked us up via boat after that. Talked story on the way to their floating dock (which can get pretty hot when barefooted). At first glace, about half of their jet skis were dinged up/old (so don't get your hopes up). However, once you get on them, they seem just as fun as the rest! There is another company just down the water with newer jet skis but honestly, we were definitely having more fun. They didn't have enough working jet skis for everyone to use so we'd switch off every so often. As bad as that sounds, it's always good to take a breather. Plus, you get to try out all the different water crafts they have there while switching off. Customer service was really good! We were told that the group who signed up for jet skiing after us actually canceled so we got to stay for another half hour to an hour or so free of charge! Well, almost. We gave our guys a bigger tip for being so cool about everything ^^b and somehow our instructor left and came back with a McDonalds meal (I didn't know McDonalds served on water! -- jk, they don't). Overall the experience was really great. I would recommend other friends to come just as long as they didn't go with high expectations. It's really the people who made the experience worth while. Ripping Wide Open Throttle (WOT) on the jet skis though, made me feel free. In general, I recommend this activity for anyone who is willing to participate = ) read more

You will need to additionally pay a gas fee and tipping the staff is always recommended if you enjoyed the activity. Personally, I would not recommend this tour. The best part of the entire thing was booking it over the phone as the employee was very kind. After that, it just became under whelming. I booked this for my son's birthday. Upon arrival, we were the only people on our boat tour. The booth let us know and said to stay near bc we may go out earlier than our scheduled time. No biggie, but I got the feeling it was the end of the day and they wanted to just get it done and get out of there. under whelming. We got on the boat and I shared it was my son's birthday. Although there was some enthusiasm to the happy birthday, we were also told "you are the only ones on this tour so get ready for a good time" kinda thing but I got the "get er done" vibe again. I specifically asked if that meant we could get more flight time than the 6-8 minutes. Absolutely! Was the answer. I felt like maybe we were lucky for my son's birthday and my two sons heard him and became excited! Things were turning around... then the flight. Less than six minutes by my stopwatch from "butts on the front of the boat to butts back on the front of the boat" although the dip at the end was a bit fun. Not to mention, we faced the open ocean horizon most of the time, which didn't make sense to me. Even my boys were like "that's it?!?" it was SO fast. On the way back in the captain and guide were occupied by their respective cell phones. So, to conclude- if you are wondering if 6-8 minutes is worth around 100 bucks, it's NOT. Save your money. It's definitely not worth it for 5-6 mins. I would've thought that we'd at least get the max 8 minutes since there were no others on the boat ‍ definitely under whelming. And yes, after I took the Venmo that was sure to be presented and considered our experience as a whole- I did not tip. This island is getting too used to taking advantage of tourists on vacation, but guess what? I'm a local and I only tip well when it's deserved. read more

My wife and I were in Waikiki and we got a Groupon for parasailing. Now I am deathly afraid of heights, but it seemed like a great idea at the time. We checked in about half an hour before our trip and talked with our fellow passengers while we waited for our boat. Good people. We got on the boat and there was a driver and two assistants that hooked us in to the harness. Super nice guys and funny as well. Every ride is about 10 minutes and we were third in line. I was surprisingly not too freaked out and they shoot you up about 80 feet. The sight of the Waikiki coastline is amazing! I didn't realize how long the coastline was! Diamondhead was off to the right as well and was beautiful! I only freaked a little when we were at the zenith of the rope, but it was beautiful. I would really recommend this Groupon, it was really cool! Plus it is Hawaii! Just an amazing hour of fun. Fun thing to do! Easy to book, the captains and crew were really nice, and they took some great pics for us. We did the parasailing and jet ski which I highly recommend. Parasailing alone would be too quick and not as fun as jet skiing right after. Parasailing was nice to be high up and be able to see the great view, we also took a dip in the water which was very refreshing! We all got a little dizzy while waiting for every one else to go up because we went first so if you have to take meds to help you, then do so. I never get dizzy and I've been on other boats and drank on other boats but this time was a little different. I thought it was because I took shots before going up but my friends who didn't drink got dizzy too. Jet skiing was super fun!!! They had someone transport us from their main area to Keehi lagoon where a boat took us to the jet ski launch pad. You kind of have to get used to riding it, steering, and working the throttle but after that it's easier. We wore sunglasses but your eyes still burn from the salt water and it's hard to wipe it while your hands are on the jet ski. So if you have goggles or something that would work. You'll be spitting a lot from the salt water getting in your mouth and the water splashing at you. I'm definitely coming back! It was easy to check In and they warn you about parking which was a little difficult but thank god they tell you or else I'm sure we would have been late. I will say though if anyone in your group suffers from motion/sea sickness this may not be an ideal activity for you. X-treme Parasail is located in Kewalo Basin. Parking is to the left when you're facing their booth. Parking is pretty cheap granted it's in town $1 an hour, you can use cash or credit. Can't miss it you'll see it. Our tour time was at 3 pm but the boat didn't arrive til after 330-345pm wish they gave us notice on why they were running late. In the email it does state to arrive 30 min prior to your tour time. So we were waiting for over an hour. I bought the Groupon for 2 people for 850 ft. I had upgraded to 1000 ft for extra $10 (if you have cash) or $15 (if you're using a credit card). I had to use my card so I paid an extra $5, this was my second time parasailing so I want to try it at a higher ft. If you get seasick easily I HIGHLY suggest taking motion sickness pills. I always get seasick so I took 2 Dramamine pills and still got a little seasick. It's a small boat and it was super windy so the boat was choppy. You can use your GoPro or a waterproof phone cover (I'm clumsy so I don't use it) or they can take your pictures and videos for $30 (cash or card). Their picture quality is ok but my sister bought it since it was her first time. read more

Although I have gone through this company before in 2016. My friend recently bought the groupon and booked it for 6/6 @ 12:00 pm. The booking went through and told us to be there at 11:30. When we got there the shack / booth they operate out of was not open there was a group of people that knew the owner but was there to make signs for the BLM protest that was happening that day. There was another family that showed up and said they booked the same time. The group of ladies said they were gonna call the owner, but once 12 hit we decided to leave. We then emailed them later that Saturday. But no response yet they have an automated text and email telling my friend to rate them and review the experience. HOW CAN WE RATE IT?!? You would think the company would have the decency to update their website so that if they weren't operating people wouldn't be able to book. Instead of wasting our time having to look for parking because of the protest then sitting for half an hour for no reason. If this is how you operate your business you shouldn't be in business. I understand everyone is struggling right now but it was already paid for so you're taking peoples money. read more

Two guys were extremely well trained the driver was safe and fast going and coming and we caught some great swells making for fun and exciting ride. they were both extremely cautious. the guy who suited us up was awesome. my husband and I are seniors and with my hurt leg needed lots of extra attention walking to/getting on/off plank. he would tell my husband, "I got her" and he did. when we got down to plank again he took both my hands and as we got down off stairs, boat statues rocking and he danced me back to my seat; how cool was that; he made my day. as he too my hands to get me off boat, I told him that he was a goo and kind man. I would like to turn him on for "employee of the year" if u go to Oahu, Hawaii, go to "extreme sports" and ask to parasail with young guy, shoulder length brown/blonde hair with tattoo from left leg knee to ankle with red blood tears coming out of eyes of Statue of Liberty...we all know what/why those are blood tears. read more
