My friend and I were feeling adventurous so we tried parasailing for the first time. My friend booked the reservation on Groupon and there was an issue on the website where it double booked us. I was able to call in to the X-Treme Parasail office and they were very helpful and friendly to fix our problem. Everything was confirmed and ready for us on that Sunday. On that Sunday, we checked-in at 11:30 as instructed in our confirmation. Our reservation was at 12:00. It was around 12:15 when the parasail boat docked to pick the groups up. There were about 5 groups boarded on the boat including me and my friend. There were four couples and a family of four. The boat ride itself was already fun. Super fast and bouncy since it was speeding against the currents. There were times where the water would splash onto us. It was fun and refreshing. The boat slowed down when the two attendants were setting up the parasail. Each groups went up in pairs for exactly 10 minutes and depending on their booking only reached a certain height. When it was my friend and I turn to go up, I was a little nervous since I was afraid of heights and my friend booked us to go up 800ft. The attendant slowly pulled us up and for some reason it wasn't as scary as I thought. The view from 800ft was amazing! We can see the view of Diamond Head, Waikiki and Ala Moana. When we were up there it was so quiet and calm. The air was so breezy and cool despite how hot and sunny it was that day. When our 10 minutes were almost up, our attendant slowly reeled us back to the boat and surprised us with a dipped into the water. We honestly wished it lasted a little longer. The whole experience lasted a little over an hour since we have to wait for everyone's turn. Overall, it was an amazing experience! The attendants on the boat and the staff at the check-in stand were all friendly and helpful. The other groups were also friendly too where a couple helped us to take our pictures while we were up there. This complete one of my bucket list. The overall experience was okay, but we had to wait a WHOLE HOUR before they took us out, and I just don't think that's acceptable. We had a reservation for 3 pm and they told us to arrive 30 mins prior, so we did. Checked in at the booth, and the guy told us that the boat is running late, so just hang around and come back again around 3:15 pm. No sorry, not apologetic at all. Came back at 3:15 and had to keep waiting until about 3:30. We asked the guy again how long would it take for the boat to get back, because we probably need to add money to our parking meter. He said "mm..yeah I would add another hour just to be safe". Lol, again, not sorry at all that by this time, we have been waiting for almost a full hour yet. Finally, at 3:40 pm, the boat came back and we started boarding. I understand sometimes unpredictable things happen, but the crew members did not even try to address the fact that they're late. They're not late by 5 or 10 mins, but 40 mins (excluding the time we had to wait for them because they told us to get there early). The parasailing itself was cool and very scenic. However, they can definitely try to treat their customers with some more respect. read more

**FIRST TIME PARASAILING** To be completely honest, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I'm pretty happy with myself for doing it. (I dislike things like this) It was 9 of us that took part in it. Ages 5 (yes a 5 year old) to 43 years old and we had a BLAST. (More them then me lol) The gentleman that worked the front desk/little booth was AMAZING. Very friendly but most importantly very informative. We booked our parasailing 2 days in advance. We started promptly at 9am and was done before 11:00am. So if you have other things to do while visiting Hawaii, you can do this and still have tons of time to do other things. (Like shop or have brunch at the mall across the street, walking distance) The 2 gentlemen working the boat was lots of fun. Tons of laughers for sure. They take you out there and the view is beautiful. (Make sure you bring a camera/phone) I ended up paying $50 for a flash disk for them to take pictures of all 9 of us. It was totally worth it. ***TIPS*** -Very kid friendly (if your kids aren't scared) -They give you an option to get dunked in the water, i highly suggest you do it. Tons of fun!! (Make sure you pack a towel) -Book in advance -You can bring your phone with you up in air but just make sure you have something to secure it. We used this company last week and paid for our picture package. They take pictures of your group as you are going up and then give you the SD card. Well they gave us an SD card but it was of another family. So now we have no pictures. I did call them and was told to send in the pictures I received and that they would send me our pictures. I received a call the last day we were on the island and was told they couldn't locate them. Very disappointed and would not recommend them as they are very unorganized with the pictures. read more

We did a lot of research before we settled on X-Treme Parasail and they lived up to the reviews we read! We booked the 500ft parasailing for 2 using Tom's Barefoot. Our crew was lead by Captain Tom and Aiden, they were phenomenal! Very funny and helped everyone stay relaxed and entertained throughout. Wear a swimsuit because they'll dip you (well not all of you, unless they think you're enjoying it a bit too much) in the water towards the end of your sail. There are small cubbies under the seats where you can leave your things. We would definitely try this again, what an awesome experience! They offer photography and they give you the SD card with all the photos. Aiden is the resident photographer onboard. The photos are amazing. The boat driver was 10 minutes late to pick us up which was fine and he was nice enough. However, the jet skis provided has some sort of speed limiting devices installed and so you really could not enjoy the experience of speeding on the water. The space to jet ski was also very small. I got a groupon for my wife and I - we're locals and wanted to do something spontaneous we've never done before. She was a bit hesitant when I told her I bought them but willing to give it a try. Parking is decent $1/hr, if you're driving there I would check in and then pay for parking if not, arriving 30 minutes before and paying 2 hrs was perfect. We had captain Dan and I want to say Chris (I'm sorry I forgot) they were awesome, very friendly and helpful. Their playlist on the boat was on point also! My wife and I ended up going second. Water was a bit rough which made it fun. It is so calm when you're in the air. A very good experience. Our favorite is the ascending and Dan's little sidewinder when he had us dip in the ocean! Photo package is $30 cash or $33 card which they take pictures of you, the view, and give you the whole SD card. We didn't go with their service because we had our gopro and it was beautiful. You can take anything up with you but it's under your discretion. Some had their phones in those floaty bags and took it up with them. Their rules and regulations are very fair. If you're late for your reservation, they will not wait on you. Tour guides are very attentive & provide photography service. My brother, nephew and I decided to go jet skiing. The concierge recommended this place. They pick you up from your hotel, takes you to the marina, then they take you to another location where a small boat takes you out on a barge out on the ocean. Life vests are provided and you can leave your belongings on the barge. It's probably not a good idea to take your phone with you to take pictures even if you have waterproof pouch. From there, pylons are set up for you to go around on clockwise...plenty of space for people who just wants to ride slowly or fast. We rented jet skis for 30 minutes($80 per person), believe me, 30 minutes on a jet ski is long enough. When all done they take you back to your hotel. Just keep in mind the whole thing took about 3 hours. We arranged to be picked up 1:30 by the time we got back to the room it was 4:45pm. We made it just in time for our catamaran sunset cruise that was scheduled for 5:00pm but luckily it didn't leave till 5:30pm. I would have gave this place a 5 star but I was surprise that they didn't take any kind of pictures or videos. I've jet ski before in Waikiki and they've always have taken pictures and videos for you to buy. The employee mentioned that they didn't do that and it was under new ownership. This is something the new ownership might want to consider cause it's very profitable. The 2 employees were both very nice. I definitely recommend jet skiing while in Hawaii but for only 30 minutes. read more

Good and fun. It was a really quick in and out for about an hour and think it would have been worth it to spend more money to make an "experience". Also, I couldn't tell if we really spent 8 minutes in the air, but it felt less and observing the other participants it seemed less. Nonetheless, was super fun and a beautiful view of Ala Moana/Waikiki. You can bring your phone/cameras up if you want but I didn't have a protective case for it and it wasn't worth the risk in my opinion. FINDING THE PLACE It's a bit tricky but you can spot the Xtreme Parasailing sign (look for red and white colors). If your back is against the Ala Moana Blvd, it is at the very left end of the strip. PARKING The parking closest to their check in station must be paid but if you entered the lot and turn right, there is a big area that didn't *seem* to need payment. There weren't any signs that I could see and none of the other cars had tickets showing or anything. At least from what I could tell. I had the 9am booking and got there 8:30am. What should have been a really fun excursion for parasailing got really frustrating before we could enjoy our time on the water. We were originally supposed to go on Saturday, but due to high winds, they had to cancel the trip. That wasn't a problem at all since they were fantastic about calling us early in the day and letting us know about the issues. They rebooked us on the phone quickly and instantly sent us a new email confirmation. They assured us that they would let us know the next day if they had to cancel again, but Sunday's weather was much better. We returned on Sunday at our new time in the morning, ready for a parasailing adventure. Check-in was smooth and everything looked like it was a go after a small wait. However, there was a mechanical problem with the boat right before we were supposed to go. We weren't too bothered since mechanical issues can happen at any time and they were able to rebook us for later that afternoon. We returned to the kiosk at our third new time. The employee explained that there would be about a 15-minute delay for boarding the boat from our newly scheduled time because they had gotten backed up. We had arrived thirty minutes before our appointment time as they had told us to do earlier in the day, so that meant lots of time to kill. We took a walk down to Magic Island and returned for our afternoon appointment. The boat for our (late) appointment time returned, so we walked over to the boat to board. However, suddenly we were told that they could only bring six people on that boat trip and the delay was much greater than what we had been told when we checked in earlier. We would have to wait an additional 30 minutes on top of the 45+ minutes that we had just waited (not including our morning wait time), which really got on our nerves. If the employees would have communicated that there would be an even bigger delay, that would have been fine and we could have made other plans. However, we were stuck waiting yet again, which also meant that we had to pay for parking for a third time and just hope that we could make it on the next boat. Other customers were similarly frustrated, especially those who had wasted their vacations coming back to the kiosk for hours upon hours only to be told of more rescheduling and delays. Meanwhile more and more customers showed up for their reservation times only to be told that their boats would be late. Once we were on the boat we had a blast. The captain and his assistant were really funny and silly. Each couple took turns going up 500 feet and enjoying the beautiful sunset surrounding the Ala Moana area. They dipped everyone in the water when bringing us back in and the last couple got a second one for good measure. They also played some super sweet tunes from the 90s. We loved every second on the boat and the awesome crew. As a whole, I'm glad we got to go parasailing. However, I wish the communication in the afternoon would have been better so we wouldn't have wasted so much time waiting for a boat. If I were to go parasailing with this company again in the future, I would call to confirm prior to every appointment, especially if they had to change the times or seemed behind. read more

We had fun, but the service was terrible since we did not carry bags on had, and that means we would not be able to give tips. When we were back, one of the employees grab my friend's hand, and asked us to go grab some cashes. He told me that my friend had to stay there until I bring the cash back. I was very surprised by his action, and got $5 cash from our car and told him $2 charge please because I really did want to give them tips after their intentions. However, they only gave us $1 back after I asked twice. What's more is that there were a few Japanese tourists who did not speak in English. They saw people pay for camera and they as well as gave the cash even thought they did not know what happened, and the employees just simply took from them without taking pictures for them. Good first experience parasailing! Just a heads up they aren't very strict once you get on the boat about COVID guidelines as everyone is able to take their mask off. Very nice staff, funny and great boat ride out into the harbor. About 8 minutes up in the air and at the end they ask you if you want to be dunked in the water which was pretty fun! Only concern is booking online you pay more for length of time In the air / height and I payed for the 850ft/8 minutes (approximately off the top of my head) and I noticed everyone else (about 5 parties) had the same amount of time and feet in the air as we did. So possibly coincidentally everyone ordered the same package but I have a feeling I could have ordered the "cheaper" package and still got the same amount of time in the air as the more expensive/longer package. read more
