I've come here about 9-10 times in the past 10years. The food consistency has not changed at all. This time of year sargassum is bad but nothing here. I love not having to bring towels, snorkels/goggles. The staff have been extremely friendly. I love the food is still good, the margaritas are great as well. Out of all the xcaret parks, xel-ha is the best in my opinion. All day fun, all day relaxation, all day food and beverage. What more could a person want?
Of all the excursions, this is by far one of the best of all the xcaret ones. This place has a little bit of everything. Tubing, snorkeling, bikes, zip line, plenty of areas near the water to relax and just take in the vibes. And yes, as people have mentioned, there are extra activites such as swimming with the dolphins that cost extra. Can you imagine if it was free? People are crazy complaining about it being extra. Regardless though, there is so much to do, that you are ok without the extras. Not to mention unlimited eating and drinking at the bar. It's probably why it is so popular among tourists, especially considering one of the few parks that kids under the age of 4 are still able to go. I think the other parks have other age restrictions. Definately a go to place for me and my family anytime we visit.
Such a great experience. Especially if you have kids. The all inclusive doesn't include some of the activities. Food and drinks are good. Make sure to wear plenty of sunscreen and pace yourself it's a long day. If you only speak English it's not a problem. The staff is very friendly and fun. Enjoy!
OH Xel-haaaaaAAAAA! Such a FUN in the sun all day excursion. I've been here each time I've vacationed in Tulum. This visit to Xel-ha I had the pleasure to enjoy with my best friend and we had a blast. This trip we decided to enjoy the all inclusive activities included with our day pass and decided next time we will do one or two of the add on ones. My favorite amenities are always the cliff jumping and waterslide. I'd love to see a taller cliff to add to the thrill! I'm sure wishful thinking on my part. However, everything is so fun. I loved how this trip it wasn't busy like past times when I've gone in the months of February and March. If you're contemplating going, I'd say just go. It's fun for all ages! Also, include the photo package in your ticket. Don't miss the fun memories. If you get the all inclusive ticket, food and drinks (nonalcoholic and alcoholic) are included. Let me tell you, they have the BEST mango margarita I've had in my life. We got ours non-alcoholic and it was delicious and refreshing. I've never had another margarita compare. Food is buffet style and fair, nothing to write home about, but you can visit as much as you'd like. I look forward to my future visit including paid excursions (hopefully, in a few short months). Staff are everywhere ready to help. Park is huge, clean and absolutely beautiful. Highly suggest, having water shoes for your adventure. Also, if you can, purchase tickets online in advance and look for a discount code if you like to save mullahhhh! Enjoy your visit and have the bestest time. I don't think you will be disappointed.
Three time visitor... it's still a good time. If you love the water, it's a must come. If you can't swim, they've got plenty of jackets to help you float. Like some of the other folks had mentioned there are plenty of upsells here from swim with "dolphins, manta rays, manatees" oh, my! To be honest some of the experiences are worth doing at least once. The zip-bike experience, instance, give you a unique view of the rainforest and cenotes from a eagle eye view. You can ride on the fast boats anywhere, maybe, or have your feet cleaned and massaged by little fish, but really you could skip all that and be alright. What is included is pretty good. We have enjoyed the lazy river, the cenotes, the caves, the floating bridge, zip bikes, the snorkeling, etc. It's all a good time. This time I talked my kids into joining up the Lighthouse slides. Two things to do up there. You can 1) check out the 360-degree views and score some cool xelfies (band activated cameras) and/or 2) head down the slides from a height of 131 feet. The cool thing is that my kids were psyched out at the height, and the wind at height wasn't helping (nor were the folks zooming down the slides). They got up to the top, and exceeded expectations by not freaking out and jumping into the slide which landed them in a 4 foot pool at the end. Plenty of fish to see amongst the rocks and edges... while on the Mayan Bridge which is connects the eastern edge of the park... it floats, or rather moves with the ocean... if you get seasick or motion sickness... maybe skip it. It's a good time though. We jumped in at one end of the bridge and ran into a barracuda... crazy. Let's talk food. There are four restaurants that serve a variety of the traditional and fast foods. They have a place that serves grilled meats, a place that serves tacos, a place that's more fast food. It's all tasty. Along with the drink bars that serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, the restaurants have aguas frescas... stay hydrated! The park has snorkeling gear (masks and fins), lockers, everything you need is available here. The food is great. The attractions are plenty, and plenty more if you pay for them. It's a fantastic water park.
Getting sold-up on all the extra-cost experiences (on the bus, throughout the entrance, regularly by photographers) might be enough to take the shine off of A Xel-Ha visit, but we found VERY enjoyable snorkeling the lagoon for the beautiful fish, tubing and snorkeling the River of Life (mangrove part of the ride especially enchanting), as well as walking through the jungle and dipping among the various cool water cenotes on the far side of the park all fun nature-forward day activities. Xel-Ha's all-inclusive adult drinks were enjoyable and not watered down-- with bar staff always willing to mix up more than Piña Coladas and Margaritas, and made extra fun twisting down the tall bumpy lighthouse tower waterslide, and stumbling across the floating bridge as the aggressive surf undulated it underfoot. (Drinking glass depository containers conveniently all throughout the park-- and waters and soft drinks easy to obtain.) The cost-included lunch buffet was replete with tasty Mexican food offerings (very good for buffet food) and pleasant, attentive table service, including festive Three Kings Cake to fit the holiday of our visit. Clean private showers and changing rooms, that included clean towels, snorkeling gear (tho we brought our own), dry bag service, and convenient lockers wrapped up a day of friendly and attentive service.
Xel-Há is an all inclusive water park in Tulum. If your main focus is snorkeling, this is not the place for you - you won't see many fish. We'd definitely do Xplor again (we did it in 2015 and 2027) as it has great ziplines, ATVs, water caves and same food buffet. For us Xel-Há was mostly worth it because the snuba caleta helped us prepare for scuba diving breathing. It's pricey at over $900 for 4 people but it's an all day adventure including 3 meals: $114.99pp admission + $120 RT transport for 4ppl + $ $93.99 photo pass for 4 ppl + $54.99pp snuba caleta + fees + optional tips. You can save money by buying 7 days in advance and dropping the photo pass. The transport bus picks up a few locations around Playa del Carmen PDC (Xel-Há does not help you figure out what location is closest to you or provide addresses of the pick locations). The drive from PDC to Xel-Há takes about 45 minutes. You arrive, check in and get your park bracelet (which triggers most of the photos). Then walk to the main central area, get a locker and then wait for the Xula Vista restaurant to open at 9am. Remember while the water park opens at 8:30am, you left your hotel before 7am when the complimentary breakfast starts so you're starving. It is a huge "International" buffet of every kind of food you can think but there is no cooked to order (eggs). You will be assigned a table and waiter for beverages but the rest you get yourself. There are bathrooms with showers and lockers located in almost every area of the water park - most notably missed from the zipline areas. You get a numbered key from a desk at the entrance - you will not get to pick the location of your locker. Smaller lockers are free and the larger lockers are an additional cost. We biked, snorkeled, zip lined and went on water slide. Frustratingly most of the masks leaked and we did not see a lot of the fish as they were mostly hiding along the edges. Snorkels and fins must be checked out/in or you will be charged. We had lunch at La Cocina del Pueblo to try the "Mexican and Regional Buffet." All the food is very good for buffet food and you will find something you like to fill a plate and your belly. We booked the snuba caleta. There are 2 snubas in totally different areas of the park - cenote and caleta - so make sure you got the correct location. Snuba is like scuba diving but a group of you are connected to 1 air tank carried by your instructor. You take a swim around the main cove in mostly shallow water and they chum the water to get the fish closer to you. It was a good experience to help us get used to breathing equipment for scuba diving. Closeby is the Scenic Lighthouse waterslide so we left our watershoes in unlocked lockers and starting hiking the131 feet up the stairs. It was a little bumpy as the slide seams could be felt and there's a bit of an unexpected drop at the end so I definitely got a little waterlogged. We then grabbed some more snorkels and head out to the ziplining area. The zipline area has 3 different low ziplines bringing you back and forth over a small section of water. There are no lockers or snorkel gear desk here so if you have snorkel gear or tevas, most people just leave them on the dock nearby. Normally, this would not be a problem but someone. The staff changed during our ziplining and we think staff took our snorkel gear not our shoes. We had to go to the main desk and explain what happened and beg not to be charged; we were very lucky as a new staff member by ziplining backed our version that an exiting staff member probably took our snorkels otherwise we'd be charged I think $25 (could have been $35) for each unreturned snorkel. We purchased the photo pass for almost $100 and were disappointed as many cameras did not work - none in the zipline area and none at the Lighthouse waterslide so we ended up with photos we triggered near the main area and then the snuba photos - none others. We were pleased that we brought our own waterproof pouches from amazon before our trip $15 for a 4 pack and they worked great. They were selling them in the gift shop for way more (something like $15 each). Overall the staff is generally very friendly and helpful.
AMAZING!! I can't even begin to describe how memorable my day was at Xel Ha. From the snorkeling to the caves to the water slides and all of the other activities in between, this is not a standard water park. Even the buffet was top notch. For just over $100 USD it was well worth the experience.
I'm gonna break this review into a couple pieces. Attractions, food and accessibility. But before we start, I need everyone to know that me and my family are water people and this is a water amusement park. If you are not a big swimmer, this might not be the place for you. Attractions: so in general, the attractions are super fun and are almost all based around the water. We had different people participate in: the manatee experience where they got to swim with and feed the manatees; the Seatrek where we got to wear something akin to an old-fashioned diving helmet and walk on the ocean floor while the guides brought fish for us to touch and explore; the lazy river with the cliff jumps, obstacle course, and zip line; the lighthouse waterslides; and of course, tons of free range snorkeling. We were overall very impressed with everything. The snorkeling is beautiful with tons of fish. The water is clean and even with all of the people there, the water never feels crowded. Getting to touch and experience the fish up close was amazing and the zip line is fit for a lot of different ability levels. You're required to wear a life jacket anytime you get in the water. They do have lots of size options although the bigger sizes and the littlest sizes are not available everywhere. The biggest size I saw was a 4X. The jackets are generally larger than you would expect. So someone who would maybe think to grab a large try a medium first. Wheelchair accessibility: Overall, the resort was actually fairly accessible. Some things to know before you go: if you have a manual chair or need shock absorption there are lots of the paths that are cobbled unevenly resulting in a lot of jiggling and jostling which could be a problem. Some of the paths have trees in them. We were able to navigate but we use a smaller chair and somebody with larger power chair or a large manual chair might not be able to navigate as the pathways are narrow. There are also some parts of the pathway where it is sand, and with nothing firm. Which could be difficult for a heavier chair. Most of the water entry points have several stairs to get in. The bathrooms were not the worst for accessibility but also not the best. There's usually an accessible bathroom stall, but almost every time we went in somebody was changing in it, even though they were changing rooms right there. Hallways in the bathroom area are small and crowded. Soap is high like it is everywhere, and a lot of the bathroom sinks are pretty much unusable from a chair . There are drink stations sprinkled throughout the park, but they are also very high and they close at 5 PM which is before you have to be at your buses to leave, so be prepared. The buffet lines are high, but that's pretty standard so if you're a shorter chair user you might need help knowing what's on the buffet and help with your plate. The zip line has some stairs to get up to it, but if you can manage those there is a seated option which was a lot of fun. If you want to do the lazy river, there is a tram to ride to the top. There is a ramp or staircase to get into the snorkeling area; unfortunately they didn't tell us about the ramp so we had to use the stairs. They will bring your chair all the way back down for you, but they will leave it at the guest services next to the fish spa (and they don't tell you where they are taking it) which is not the place you would expect, and is not at the end of the lazy river, so will require somebody else to go get it and bring it to you. The bus from our resort would only let us bring a folding chair, so we couldn't bring our small everyday custom rigid chair. The buses park a good distance from the entrance to the park. There are accessible turnstiles to get in and doors were pretty much nonexistent so shouldn't be a problem. There was a place to rent manual wheelchairs and strollers, but it would be really helpful if they would also have electric scooters to rent. Food: the food here is actually pretty good. We ate at the Mexican restaurant both times, once by choice and once because they told us to. The space between tables is a little bit tight, but the food here is probably at least a 4 in comparison to other travel resort food in the region. There were lots of food options, so that both meat eaters and vegetarian like were happy and the fresh made corn tortillas were definitely a highlight. Overall, we had a wonderful fun filled day with lots of core memories for our family.
Definitely a whole day full of fun water activities. The staff was great and professional. They got lockers for your personal items. Thank you to Eugelio on the drinks (muy buen barrista). The environment of this place is amazing. Here is a great pic with my sister. Totally recommend doing the faro slide.
Best place on Earth!! Went there in May and it was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G everything. The water was great, the weather, the food, the activities. Of course, 1 day is not enough so go ahead and buy 2. I'll definitely be back December for Xmas. This time im brining the kiddos. read more

During my recent vacation to Cancun, my friend and I booked an excursion here. My friend wanted to go here based on a recommendation from her co-worker. I visited Playa del Carmen about a decade ago, and never even heard of this place, so I'm not sure if it's new or what... When we booked our excursion at the hotel, the guy told us to bring sun block, camera, and a change of clothes. They provide towels & lockers. My suggestion, based on my one trip is to have a plan of action... and bring water shoes. We made the mistake of walking around the majority of the park shoe-less, took the lazy river WITH our snorkel gear and just had some poor planning. I suggest doing the lazy river WITHOUT snorkel gear, and do your snorkeling on it's own - it's just easier overall that way. I will say this place had some of the best snorkeling I've ever done! Food & drinks are unlimited...the drinks aren't very strong so that's probably a good thing. Open bar mixed with snorkeling can be disasterous. The food wasn't bad, they had a LOT to offer in the buffet area. There are a lot of "extras" here too that you'd need to pay extra for - so keep that in mind. I will say the photo thing is cool if you're in a group, with your family, significant other... though I heard it was $$$ so keep that in mind. This place is very pretty though, you can have fun here and relax...it's a great place to spend the entire day. If I'm in the area again I'd probably do something different, but I'm glad I got to experience it. read more

This water park is so much fun and HUGE! I came here on vacation with my family and we had such a great time. Be prepared to spend a full long day at the water park. There are so many activities and different spots to snorkel inside of the park! We enjoyed snorkeling for a few hours and then went to the lazy river. In order to get to the top of the lazy river you can choose to take a shuttle or ride a bike. My suggestion is that you take a bike. The bike ride is about 10 minutes but the scenery is like nothing I have ever seen before. You are literally going through the forest. There are sometimes trees in the middle of the pathway so be careful. However definitely choose to take the bike! At the end of the lazy river there are multiple zip lines that drop you off right into the water. The park is all inclusive you can eat and drink as much as you would like. The Mexican food was so delicious, and the options were endless.There were so many food and dessert options that were very tasty. Since it is an inclusive I wasn't expecting the food to be as good as it was. The meals that I ate here were honestly better than any other place that I ate while visiting Cancun and other surrounding areas. When you enter the water park there is an option to buy a photo package. I highly suggest that you purchase this package. The way it works is once you purchase this package, you will be given a wristband. ALL around the water park there are camera set up in the MOST scenic spots! All you have to do is simply scan your wristband and jump in front of the camera and smile. The picture will be automatically taken. The quality of the pictures are AMAZING! You are given a code and are later able to download them from your computer. You can take as many pictures as you would like and do not have to worry about carrying your phone around. read more

This park is really nice and has a lot to do, take your long sleeve and a hat prepare for the sun. The food is good too it has a lot of variety. The only thing I did not like is that they claim they take care of the environment which is why they do not provide straws and you can only use their sunblock( which you can if you don't tell them you have it on you and it is not in plane sight) but they let people smoke inside the park. read more
Must try all-inclusive excursion! Beautiful water park. We had such an amazing time. Can't believe we actually spent the whole day there until closing time. There's a lot of activities (zip lining, lazy river, water slide, snorkeling, cave, and much more) and time went by so fast we didn't even realize it. Be prepared to walk! Bring biodegradable sunscreen and lots of bug spray! Also, water shoes! It will save your life! If I'm ever in Mexico again, I will definitely come a back! Food- It wasn't the best, but I'm so glad it didn't suck and was way better than our hotel. It literally saved us! Wished I ate more of it but I was so stuffed and about to explode. ;-) Drinks- I stuck with the margaritas because it was so good. Everyone in our group liked it (even the non-drinkers). Fish Spa- Weird, but cool experience. It didn't hurt at all. I would describe it as little tiny vibration and very ticklish. $19 usd for 15 minutes. Won't ever do it again but I can finally check that off my bucket list. read more

If there's a better water park in the world, please let me know. There is tube floating down the river (at the beginning of the park), zip lining into the water, walking on ropes until you fall, snorkeling, relaxing on the hammocks, playing with dolphins (extra $), and snorkeling. Did I mention snorkeling? Yes, you come to this park to snorkel and it is nothing short of amazing. I loved every minute of it and only wished I had more time. The buffet restaurant is included in the cost of admission and has excellent (and dare I say healthy) food. Overall, this is one of the few places in the world that I'd re-visit over and over again. read more
On our recent trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico we were able to experience this awesome beautiful place!! If you are looking for a fun day of swimming with fish, snorkeling, zip lining, cliff jumping and enjoying the beauty of under water caves then this is the spot!! We booked this thru our resort as an excursion. Prices vary depending on where you book, who you book with, etc... For us though we paid $250 for 4 of us for a full day of fun, transportation, all you can eat food and alcohol. It was a deal in my opinion!! We were picked up at our hotel by 7:30am and arrived just 15 minutes later. We had a tour guide shows us a map and point out where we needed to go to start our day!! Once you enter the park it's up to you how you spend your day and the guide is gone!! We just had to make sure to be back out by the bus to get picked up at 6pm. First we went straight to the lockers and got ready for a day of swimming. Lockers are free and a key is provided which you turn in at the end of the day. By the lockers there are showers, change rooms, bathrooms and a small shop. We Lathered up in sunblock and bug spray. In the heat and in the jungle you will definitely get chewed up by mosquitos if you don't put on bug spray. Once ready we enjoyed a breakfast buffet!! Food was delicious with options of pancakes, French toast, regular eggs, chilaquiles, potatoes, tacos, and the list goes on!! If you want a beer or margarita with breakfast go for it cause the bar is open!! Later on in the day we enjoyed lunch at a different restaurant which was also on point. The posole was to die for!! Absolutely delicious!! So not only was the park fun but we were fed well too!! We reached the start of the stream and put on our snorkeling gear to enjoy a long swim thru the jungle into the ocean while scoping out fish!! It was absolutely beautiful!! Along the way we enjoyed cliff jumping, rope obstacles and zip lining into water!! It was so much fun and tiring at the same time. You are constantly wearing a life jacket so you will be held up. If you swim closer to the sides or by rocks you will definitely enjoy a variety of fish!! There are a lot of different entry points into the water so it's hard to explore the whole park in one day but make sure to visit the caves. Here we saw bats, small crabs and enjoyed the water in a whole different way!! There is a plant nursery, kids play area, dolphins, manta rays, photo spots everywhere and lots of birds and wildlife in the jungle!! You can choose to pay for special activities in the park once you arrive but we had a blast with out any add ons. It's one of natures beauties that I'm glad we got to see!! read more
We travel a lot & this is by far the best excursion/ park/ water park/ etc ever!!! The fact that the food & drinks (yes even alcohol) is included in the price is a bonus!!! There is seriously so much to do here it is completely worth the prIce! Lockers are included in the price & there's even a placee you can store you strollers for free! I want to go back to Mexico just to go back here!! We had our two year old son with us & he was able to float the lazy river & do serval other activities like go in the cave. I would recommend wearing or buying water shoes. They have everything else you need (life vest, snorkel gear, etc) Everyone we interacted with were nice & helpful! Highly recommended read more

We booked this though our resort. This place was amazing. They offer lots of amazing add one past the original package we got which just covered all you can eat and all you can drink. Both alcoholic and non. Definitely worth it. In fact we plan on coming back again next time we are in Playa Del Carmen. Recommended: biodegradable sun block, biodegradable bug spray, and water proof case for phone or camera. Phone, sunscreen and bug spray can be bought on location but the phone cases are around $25-$30 US. The biodegradable stuff is better for the fish and for the reefs you're swimming in. The breakfast buffet was amazing. Lunch/dinner had a good variety for both young and old appetites. read more

My wife and I love to snorkel so we were excited to check out Xel-Ha while staying at a nearby resort for our anniversary. Let me start off by saying that I understand that many experienced snorkelers look down on Xel-Ha because it's easy snorkeling. As pretty experienced snorkelers ourselves, we actually found that aspect to be charming. Anyone from first-timers to veteran snorkelers should be able to enjoy Xel-Ha. We started at the beginning of the river and slowly worked our way down. We leisurely wound back and forth across the river and just basically enjoyed ourselves. Because there's almost no current the snorkeling is very relaxing and the river is teeming with all kinds of tropical fish as well as needlefish and some barracuda. In addition to the snorkeling, Xel-Ha's price of admission includes cliff jumping, zip lines, ropes course, walking paths, an underwater cave, cenotes, etc. There are other great looking activities that you can pay extra for. If you get tired, there are some great shaded areas to sit on loungers or hammocks and relax and have a free drink or three. Unlimited food and drinks are included with your price of admission, which was very reasonable. There are different restaurants to choose from, but we stuck to the large buffet which had really good food. Xel-Ha also has snorkel gear, towels, etc. so there's no need to bring any of that. We were told to bring mosquito spray but we didn't see a single mosquito while we were there. If I'm being picky, the one minor annoyance was that the park opened at 8:30 but breakfast didn't start until 9:30. We were told they opened at the same time so there was no need for us to eat breakfast at our resort. We had to wait around for an hour for breakfast to open which was time we could have spent doing something more enjoyable. Other than that minor detail, the Xel-Ha experience was absolutely fantastic. read more

What am amazing day at Xel-Ha. Getting to have a variety of fish ajd even giant Stingrays swim inches under you while snorkeling across this aquatic wonderland was amazing. The adventure park was great as well. The part had rope activities, ziplines and more. Food was pretty good but everyone had the same idea to eat right before they left amd take advantage of AYCE. Deserts are the same at each restaurant, the food differs from the 4 locations from traditional soups, salads, tacos, meats and cheeses. To hot dogs, hamburgers, and nachos. There are multiple bars that are also included! read more

Go here. *1 star taken off because of the food (beware of food poisoning). Other than that, everything here is all inclusive. Lockers, life vests, snorkel gear, food, drinks (open bar) - all included. For the price you pay, you literally get so much more. Also I recommend to do this for a whole day- there are some packages that have you do half xel-ha, half xplor or another trip. You don't wanna be rushed and you definitely want to take advantage of this place. Make sure to have biodegradable sunscreen/bug spray! read more
Zip lines are fun...but only a few of them. Just the view of this park is astounding. I thought I'd be disappointed. "Go take a walk in the park"...like my dad use to say..probably to get rid of us... But, there is a lotta walking from the bus area throughout the park. We got there just in time to enjoy the buffet...pick what you want and enjoy the food. Some hit / miss type foods...just get a little in case ya don't like it. Toss...go back for better stuff to choose from. I even had my photo taken with all the beautiful ladies (see photo) There's lockers to put your junk in..(get your life vests, flippers...snorkel and other stuff....take the key with ya. A lotta swim areas that you can go snorkeling and yes you can swim out to the huge faucet in the water (In my photos). Optical illusion). Right next to that faucet, you can snorkel through there and see schools of various beautiful types of fish, near the rocks or resting on the sides of the rocks... Totally fascinating. I wear my sandals with straps, so I don't cut my feet. Rather ruin my sandals...then my feet.... You can exit the water on the opposite side of this lake and hike through the hills on trails and even walk across a bridge that is almost level with the water and rests solely on water. Better have good balance, cuz you do swing back and forth with the waves. This bridge seperates the ocean from this lake or should I say lagoon. Up by one end of this bridge are some small baby sharks where you can also do scuba diving for a fee and also be certified for scuba diving. This will be on the ocean side of the bridge. Ooooh yes...cliff diving...where I almost lost my shorties... But I did make a large splash with my large body. and then off we went to explore underwater caves. While snorkeling, I was having a great time floating in the water face down staring at the fish when my friends and other people started yelling at me. I looked up at them and they kept pointing down to the water. So I looked under water to see what all the fuss was ....and...oooooh crap... a stingray that I was just about to step on. OMGosh....swim....swim....swim.....sooooo sooooo fast away. I don't know what would have happened and I don't wanna find out either. From then on, I kept my eyes open for them critters. Heeey, I loved them zip lines...and they are fun, but there are only several of them, not like Xplor where there is dozens of them. Before we packed up to go back to the hotel.. we rested (zzzzzz) slept right on the beach with palm trees all around us providing shade resting and getting our Coppertone tan as it was a nice hot humid day. read more
I will go to axel-Ha' every time I visit Mexico! All you can eat, drink (including alcohol) and never any lines. Extremely pleasant staff. It's hours of relaxing and enjoyment. Anyone going to Cancún MUST go... you will not be disappointed. They have snorkeling, feeding fish, and loads of other activities including a HUGE water slide tower. read more

I had no idea what to expect when I signed up to goto Xel-Ha. We signed up to do a Tulum/Xel-Ha excursion through our hotel. Xel-Ha is a huge lagoon where you can snorkel with thousands of beautiful, colorful fish, zip-line, cliff dive, explore underwater caves, float on the lazy river, and for an additional cost, you can swim with dolphins and manatees. The cost of admission includes all you can eat/drink, but for me the food was blah. At the 'international buffet' I could hardly tell what was in the chafing dishes. I took a quick look and quickly lost my appetite. There was also a fast food (hot dog/hamburger) place which looked a little sketchy as well, but my S/O ate there and came out alive. I myself will stick to the endless margaritas. Minus the mosquito bites and unappetizing food, Xel-Ha is definitely worth checking out. I would recommend it for kids especially since all the kiddos I saw were having a total blast. I probably wouldn't go again, but it was a nice experience in any case. read more

There is no denying that this place is the most beautiful place I have ever seen. Everything is so spacious and relaxing. I enjoyed my day here. HOWEVER, the next morning when me and my family were getting ready to leave back home (US) I noticed my foot was really swollen.. as we boarded the plan I started to feel this pain in my foot. I just thought since it was really hot In Cancun that was a prime factor.. well I guess not because while we were up in the air I passed out on the airplane. Why? I have no idea I have been to a couple places on the plane and this never happend. When we landed to San fran I could walk anymore my foot was in excruciating pain, it was so swollen I thought it would explode.. I went straight to the ER and the next two days I was admitted for 6 days. It results I got a FLESH EATING BACTERIA from the water. I had 0 cuts or any openings in my foot(doctors words) so I don't know how it went in. Infection was spreading up my leg that the doctor said it could have been amputated.. long story short I had 3 surgeries and a crazy scar now. I hope this doesn't happen to anybody else. read more
Amazing experience to Tulum Beach Mexico. All inclusive park for $100 , it was so cheap. From swimming with the dolphins to full buffets, it was a great day! There are multiple buffets on the resort , ranging from American to Asian, to Hispanic food. You are able to scuba dive, zip line,etc.. This entire park can take up your day with family. 100% worth the money!!!! It was absolutely beautiful and i had an AMAZING time, the main activity is the river and it was so fun. You can also eat and drink all you want and it was all sooo good. It's a great place to bring your family. If i would give it 10 stars i would!! read more

Pretty cool place. We picked a shuttle service to take our group of about 20 here. It was pretty big and a lot to do. You could easily spend a full day here and more. Water slide was cool. Lazy river was fun. Zip lining was Fun with several rope and zips into the water. Cliff jump into the water was fun. As you can tell it was a day of hot fun. Food and drinks were ok. I would come here again anytime. read more

Wow! This place is great! I'm not normally one for theme park type experiences but we were in Playa over Christmas and we wanted something fun, easy and chill to do for x-mas eve which also happens to be my birthday. So we booked a day at Xel-ha, read up a bit and hoped for the best. It turned out to be a super fun day and we really enjoyed it. We would totally go back! Loved that it's all inclusive and you don't have to carry cash or anything. They give you a barcode bracelet and scan it when you check anything out- super easy and zero fuss. Everything was always fully stocked and available- snorkel gear, towels, drinks! For 2 California foodies the food was pretty tasty. We grabbed some fruit for breakfast and ate at the mexican restaurant for lunch. Everyone...and we do mean everyone! was going for a last meal before the road so we joined in and tasted the buffet at the international restaurant before the park closed. Everything was pretty fresh for a buffet and they whisk away any plates or uneaten food super quick. In fact the whole park was spotless and incredibly well cared for. We wandered the whole place, snorkeled, did the river tubing...and through all of it had fun! Thanks for a fun birthday Xel-Ha! read more
This was an expensive excursion and I do wish it was less expensive. It really sucks how bad the CAD is to the USD right now, however, the is one seriously amazing park!! Which is why no one in my group was at all upset at the cost of this place. We got the all inclusive tickets, which means we can eat and drink however much we would like. It is definitely worthwhile to do the all inclusive (it also had the cost of transportation included in our tickets). We didn't really drink much as it was a hot day and we were spending a lot of time being active in the water and under the sun. There's so much to do and see here. There's a lot of wildlife as this is an eco park. There's ziplining, snorkelling, cliff jumping, lazy rivers, and obstacle courses along with add-on activities such as swimming with dolphins, which required extra payment. You can definitely spend a whole day here and not get bored with or without the add-on activities. And if you've never experienced anything like this before, and are used to the chlorinated water parks of the USA or Canada, then this should be on your list of things to check out. Another thing is they push for organic sunscreen and bug spray here. It's fairly decent pricing if you don't have any of your own and need to buy some. I would suggest that you come prepared with your own simply because all of the excursion places push for the organic stuff. It is an eco-park after all, and you should be respectful of protecting the environment you are enjoying. read more
My Fiance and I had the honor to experience Xel Ha while on my birthday vacation and what a natural water park experience it was. We bought an all inclusive excursion from the resort we stayed at, and it was the best $280 we could have spent on the entire trip! We started about about 8am, stopped off in Tulum to experience the Mayan ruins, then after about 2 hours headed on to Xel Ha, and boy was that a treat! We had unlimited pina coladas or whatever drink you choose. Lunch and Dinner on the house at a variety of three different restaurants, then went on adventures that included tubing through the jungle, snorkeling in the lagoon, a sight seeing tour through the jungle with exotic animals, beach access with a beautiful lighthouse, tour through the natural grottos and so much more. I recommend 100%, 5 stars folks! read more

Best water park in Mexico. Absolutely beautiful and everything is just perfect. You don't need to bring anything. Everything is included! Snorkel, towel, all inclusive food and drinks. It was great concept to have a waterpark with food drinks included in admission!!! we had our yummy breakfast at main restaurant, interesting to find yummy beef tribe soup with corn. We had our lunch at grill restaurant, set up was like a restaurant at the beach, very cool!! had burgers, hot dogs, pizza, oni9n rings, french fries and drank our mango strawberry cocktails, delicious :)) had our dinner at second floor of main buffet, quite a view!!! chicken mole was yummy. read more
We booked our day trip to Xel-Ha thru our resort & it was worth every "peso"! After reading a bunch of other reviews about the pricing I didn't mind paying ~less than $200(USD) for me & my fiancé for: all inclusive food, drink, full day at the park (including nice 1.5hr bus ride from resort & back). I'm sure everyone loves to talk about their trip and I'd love to as well but I'll try to keep much of this on burning questions I had before I went. A bus took us from our resort on the strip at 6am to the park, While on the 1.5hr ride they tell you that since it is a natural inlet you cannot wear any sunscreen or bug spray with chemicals & that they sell a "natural one" for such n such price (discounted) & if we were to purchase it AT Xel-Ha it would be $xx more. (I bought the mosquito repellant..... it literally was a 1oz pump spray bottle of citronella oil LOL). At Xel-Ha Included in the admission price you can: snorkel, feed fish while you snorkel, (I don't recommend feeding the coati the fish food, they follow you), go down into the lower level of a glass bottom boat and see underwater fish, float down the river in a single or double tube, zipline down the river, swim in a (stagnant) cenote (don't do it), jump off a cliff into the water, swing on a rope off into the water, trek through the "jungle", nap in hammocks between palms, have little fish eat the dead skin off your feet, EAT & DRINK your fill and more. *We enjoyed the food, upon arrivals in the morning we had filled up on their breakfast buffet which had an array of American items such as pancakes, oatmeal, juices, milk, coffee, sausage & eggs as well as Mexican items, salsas, & fruit! I loved the chilaquiles! Lunch was even better, esp after being in the water all day, there was so much to choose from; plenty of sides and salsas & the dark (almost black) habanero hot sauce was so good over everything. Guac was fresh & flavorful; all the items at the buffet were hot/freshly prepped. We were absolutely stuffed when we left. For EXTRA $$$ you can: encounter dolphins, manatees, stingrays, do the sea trek, snuba (connected to oxygen tube), ect. These all are extra $ & personally I'm glad I didn't do any b/c everything included was already awesome. Just the admission price to the park, what you can do, eat drink & see I believe is money well "enjoyed". Would give a 3.5 stars bc I don't feel as if I received enough PERTINENT INFO on the many locations for life vest & rental as well as Info on losing items. I think charging $25 USD PER Lost item is a bit much. We thought there was only 1 locker/rental area & ended up trekking through the "jungle barefoot" to the beginning of the river, losing $125 worth of rental stuff then finding 4 of the 5 items. Also, there should be a weight guide on the life vest, my fiancé can't swim & he's very fit so being 215lbs and fitting a Medium vest did NOT keep him afloat when he fell off our double-tube down the river (in the meantime losing both our goggles, & 3 out of 4 flippers) and I had to save him myself....(only bc he had our locker key ....jk I love him). Would I return if given opportunity?? YES esp now knowing what to expect and prepare for. read more
