I went in to exchange a box after speaking to customer service. My entire visit took 10 min. After receiving a ticket at the front. I waited and had my box before you know it. I can't say that I experienced what everybody else did but if you have ever entered a phone store where you sign in, a representative/associate directs you to their desk/table and they gingerly help you. I was returning a router that came to me defective and me thinking I was going to have to fight tooth and nail after reading the other reviews I think I must have stumbled upon them on a positive training day or something. I was taken to the back side of the store and my router was exchanged no questions asked. My information was on their computers via the phone tech that was trying to help me with my problem. In and out within 15 minutes I would like to say thank you Comcast/Xfinity for over 119 megabytes of downloadable stream and for great customer service today. read more

The bill was quarterly then Went monthly. And now a HOT Mess. Let's talk about this wonderful cable and internet. On the day we needed the wifi to work for our client it was down we had to use wifi from our phones. They said it got over loaded with users. Now when the tech came there was only one user on it and it was over loaded? It was the AP access points from their third party Mojo. They said we had to reset everything each time it went down which was 4 times that day. So again we emailed and called Tierre the lip service was I am working on it. Nothing happened for weeks. After 4 month all we gotten is issues, broke water pipes, useless service, and most of all chasing after Tierre from Comcast to do what he said he was. Instead we get from him I don't have time for you I am on another important call I will call you later today and vanish? I had kid issues so I can't call. I don't have time but I will visit your office to talk about it and forget to do it. If you have a small business and is thinking about Comcast think twice. I feel so blessed to no longer be a paying customer of this company that completely lacks customer service. Wether you are on the phone, in an online chat, or walk in like I did to this location you are almost guaranteed a shitty experience. I came in to return the X1 equipment after canceling my service with them and switching to AT&T, I am seen by a woman at the front desk and she puts me on a waiting list to be helped for my return. While she was typing my name I could see that I was third in line to get help. The place was practically empty, and after 30 minutes of just sitting there watching the employees goof off and watch tv, making eye-contact with the front desk person, I get my ass up and ask WTF am I waiting for. Turns out the front desk person didn't enter something correctly so I've been wasting time just sitting there. I mean hello!! We made eye contact multiple times, no one else is in the building. You would think she would use her brain and wonder why I'm just sitting there. Again, zero customer service. Glad I will no longer be dealing with them. read more

I hate Comcast, but I love my TV programs, so I have no choice but to deal with Comcast. Once upon a time I had Time Warner cable and I didn't think it could get worse... but alas I was wrong. I wish I had another choice (and satellite goes out whenever it rains, which is often, so that's out). Why do I hate Comcast? 1) They keep raising the price. I have the BASIC digital cable package. I only get channels 1-100 and many of those channels don't have anything. My monthly cost is $58 for BASIC cable. Ridiculous. I have called several times to get better deals and this is what they can give me. 2) I used to have HBO so I could watch some of the great original series on there. HBO would tile all the time (little boxes all over the screen -- basically horrible reception and it is unwatchable). I had people come out from Comcast 4 different times over a 9 month period. I got a different answer every time. They always said it was not my problem but an outdoor box problems, a problem with the lines to the house, etc... But when I'd get my next bill, they'd try and charge me. I called and asked why I was being charged and they said the problem had been 'user error'. One customer service rep said that was code for 'the customer doesn't know how to use their remote'... really? seriously? They would always reverse the charges. Eventually, I had to drop HBO from my line up because it just didn't work. 3) As noted in #2, the workmen seemed to all be trained differently (or not at all in some cases). Every person who came to my house to fix the HBO problem said the person who came out before them was an idiot and that THEY would fix it. Each time they said it was fixed (not always able to be checked at the time because the problem was intermittent). The problem was never fixed. 4) Their website sucks. You can see how much your bill is but it does not clearly show if and when a payment was posted. 5) I have TIVO, so I have cable cards that slot into the back of the TIVO. I am unable to get channel 1 (on demand) because of this. Comcast said it's just too bad, even though that's 'part of the package' I am paying for. I don't get a credit for a service I cannot receive even though Comcast said it's because of cable cards, not TIVO. Oh Comcast, how I hate thee. I wish I had another viable option. I don't know who they are paying to write positive reviews of the quality of their product. The people who work in the stores are mostly great and take care of you as soon as they have the opportunity. We are down to only their internet service, because we do not have any other choices in our area. It just took me more than 15 minutes to log in and pay my bill waiting on their website to ask me to log in twice and then waiting for every page to partially load with a warning from Firefox that their site is slowing down my connection. I would auto pay, but I have no trust for this company. I would love to hate Comcast, but the truth is that I dont. I've had them twice before. I watch TV when I am extremely bored, and lately I've been very bored. So, comcast came to my rescue. I went on their website and checked out the deals. I know that I can find better deals(sometimes) if I speak to a representative, so I called (you have to say you are having problems with the site so you can get something waived... I know. it's wrong!!). I got Cable and internet for $36 per month, for six months... wait for it... wait for it... NO CONTRACT!! Woo hoo! I asked about DVR and he said it costs $14.95... now, that's too much. I asked him to waive the intallation fee and I'm in.. so he gave me dvr for $6.95 per month and intallation fee for $20 instead. Wow, I'm good! So far so good. He gave me good service because I am at this very moment satisfied with his customer service. Now, if they mess with me.. I'll be happy to update this review. Thus, I had to return all of comcast's equipment. This location happened to be the closest to my office. It is only about 10 minutes from my office. I was afraid of a long wait from my previous experiences, but luckily, this location is very quick. Their internet was down so they couldn't hand out tickets, oh the irony! comcast, I hate you. Ok, now that I have that out of the way, allow me to explain. I moved into my place, and since AT&T doesn't have the high speed DSL in my neighborhood, I was forced to go with comcast. So the first guy came out to "install everything" (read: plugging stuff in), which I could do myself... except probably better, because I wouldn't have forgotten to pick up half of the equipment. So he comes and plugs everything in, and then realizes that I need a phone jack installed near where the cable, internet, phone box is so that I can get the phone wired to the rest of the house. He climbed up in the attic to see if he could do it, and great news!, he apparently could... but... he didn't have the right equipment. I know... complete surprise. So because of his gusto, I decided to call out another contractor via comcast so that I could get that outlet installed. Well, the next contractor stood me up. Yup, that's right. I got a call 30 minutes after they left, from their dispatcher saying that they knocked on the door and no one was home. Now... that is impossible because I live in a gated place so they couldn't have made it to the door, and to boot... there was someone home. They just were lazy I guess, and didn't even call my phone number that was on the work order. So I called comcast, furious, saying that the next person who comes to my house MUST be a comcast employee. So they obliged, and my next visit was on time, and the guy was incredibly friendly. And as it turns out, the first contractor was dead wrong about being able to install the jack. Apparently it is impossible to get around the water heater to drop the line. So the guy and I decided to just do the next best thing... walk around the room running a phone line pushed between the carpet and the trim. Which sucks. It sucks that I have a phone cord wrapped around my room. What sucks more... my next comcast bill had a $52 charge for... get this... phone outlet INSTALLATION AND ACTIVATION!!! I had an appointment with them yesterday, from 2-5. They showed up at 5:10. After a few minutes of looking around, they told me that they had identified the problem: the outside cable had been weathered and would need fixing. Unfortunately, the cable guy did not have cable to accomplish this task, and I would need to call and reschedule the appointment. "Can you reschedule for me?" I asked. No. I did that. I waited for three hours today for the men to arrive. They showed up about 2.75 hours into my three hour block, and would you believe that they were not equipped to handle the problem? For some reason, they informed me that someone else would need to come out. They would schedule the appointment for me, but I would need to phone them up to find out what time the appointment was for. So, this is coming up on 9 hours I will have devoted to waiting for Comcast by tomorrow. Should I quit my job, and just devote all of my time to waiting for the cable guy for the rest of my life!?? This is the worst company in the world. And they refused to allow me to lodge a complaint over the phone until I demanded it. Do not let the jovial Comcast astronaut of the commercials fool you. After reading the two previous one-star reviews, I can only conclude that Mistress Comcast is a two-faced lover. I've been in bed with her for years, first as Mademoiselle Time Warner and, after a recent change of lingerie, in her current form which really turns on my cable modem. Unlike the leather-clad, whip-cracking Dominatrix who has been torturing the previous reviewers, she has taken me into her comcastic embrace and serviced all my cable TV and ISP needs with a soft touch whose regularity and consistency leaves me smiling and craving more. Time Warner has been my service provider for bundled cable TV and ISP services for years. I've been a very satisfied client. Service interruptions have been few and far between and, the two times I required onsite technical support, it was done quickly and professionally. Nothing has changed with the transition to Comcast. That transition was completely seamless. I was surprised at the fact that absolutely no issues arose. One day, a few months back, the cable TV program menu label changed to "Comcast" from "Time Warner". That was about the extent of it. A few package selections changed slightly, but had no real impact. So far, so good... The real test occurred last night when I finally got around to switching over to a Comcast email account. I followed their online transition wizard to the letter. The only thing I had to do that required any effort on my part was to plunge into the online FAQ material and find the addresses of Comcast's SMTP and POP servers. I FAQ'ed briefly, penetrated to the core of the matter and was rewarded with a comcastic climax of satisfaction when the test message I'd shot out to the new account arrived in my MS Outlook Inbox. My TV has been fine. This is more about the internet service. I was suffering from intermittent outages, slow speeds and so on. I finally called Comcast and after plowing through a bit of an annoying phone tree reached one of the friendliest, most patient CSR's I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. After asking me the standard questions she arranged for my modem to be pinged and determined the line up to the modem was at speed. Based on that, we arranged for a technician the next day. The tech arrived exactly on time, tested the modem and said it was 'worn out' (said with a grin). He then explained that modems do, in fact age (mine was 8 yrs old) and on top of that older modems may not accept some of the contemporary software updates. He replaced the modem and the speed has returned to Warp 9 and I've had no outages. The other lesson here folks, if you have a modem that's more than 4-5 yrs old, you may need to replace it. My next move will be to upgrade to digital and install two cards on my TiVi series 3. read more

I have no complaints. Our cable went out almost everytime there was weather disturbances in the area. That was over five years ago, since then, there have been no problems. One minor issue is the channel lineup, which seems to have no type of organization. If it were my company, I would group them together based on focus audience, ie. young kids, older kids, pre-teens, teens, college students, married before college, under 40 and single, married 35 to 50, divorced before 50, married 50 to 70, second marriage, the best years of your life. read more

Concash on the whole is awful, however was very impressed at the level of professional service I received, and how quickly they took care of my issues.. I got a great price too, unfortunately a lot of the channels I watch regularly like the cooking channel aren't included in my current package.. Called and asked about adding those channels and they wanted nearly $60 a month more, so nixed that notion. Finally at 4:30 two guys show up (without calling 30 minutes ahead like they said they would -- thankfully I took off work) and fixed it after an hour of tracking mud all over my apartment. All and all not too terribly bad, but Everyone posting reviews for Comcast is really just ranting though, unless you can get a dish or another service, this is the only choice for cable in Houston. The only thing I regret about this review is that I cannot give Crapcast, I mean Comcast zero stars! Long and shot of my issue. On Tuesday September 7, 2010 my services stopped working. As of 11:25 am Wednesday September 15, 2010 they still do NOT work! I have made a total of 5 appointments for repair of which they showed up once. Yes you heard me right, ONCE! They say they call to confirm the appointment and then say no one answered and therefore they have to cancel the appointment. The real issue is there is no other real option! The service was down and a repairman came out to fix it. He tore up the communication box and left a mess. We didn't want to shove it back in for fear of damaging something or pulling out wire that would mess up service, and we could hear another apartment's cable TV coming to the box When I called to request they come back out and properly fix the box, the manager said he spoke to the repairman who said he had put everything away. When I said I took a picture of it and would send it to him then he agreed to send someone back out. I didn't feel comfortable with him sending back the original guy, and he said he wouldn't send him out again but of course he did anyway. So I had to wait around for him to show up again and he just shoved it all back in. At least the service is back up. read more

They could care less what happens on an appt. case in point- service tech came out to fix DVR box & Internet. He seemed liked he knew what he was doing. But.... When he left the Internet didnt work. Many calls and.....nothing. Had to schedule another appt. miss more work. The problem? The tech guy FORGOT to restart the service!!!!!!! It took the 2nd tech 5 min. It couldn't be done remotely.
