Window-shop for a few minutes and should return to see a receipt with a new plastic wrapped cable box waiting for pickup. The store is bright and roomy with separate sections for type of gadgets. At entry, a greeter signs you in with a computer tablet with the reason for the visit. The wait depends on the need for a specialist? There is a long cushioned bench to sit on if needed. I had a great experience this evening at the San Rafael Xfinity store. The manager Miguel was friendly, helpful, informative and calm. We had easy communication between us and I was really happy with the outcome. I was returning a cable box and also needed help with my phone. He new exactly what the problem was and I was out the door in approx 15 mins. Perhaps the people leaving bad reviews should check their own behavior. Customer service is one of the most difficult jobs around. Dealing with the public is challenging on good days. Try going in with a good attitude and see how your experience goes. read more

This place is horrible and the manager Juan (if that's even his real name) is a rude power tripping little idiot. This place somehow deactivated and diverted my business number to Verizon without telling me and I had to spend hours on call with technical support multiple times. They said they can't help me revert it since the change was done in the store. I went to the store and told the staff the issue. I asked if this is fixable and the staff person assured me yes. Next thing u know, this rude manager comes over and tells me to go get on the phone with a tech to get assistance. At this point, I am confused and refused to get on a call with tech support when these ppl were the ones who forwarded my number. He would not explain to me why they can't help me, what can the person on the phone do for me but instead tried to exert his authority by telling his staff NOT to help me and literally told his staff to 'shut it down' like he's some big shot. Who does that?!! Then all the staff became his little minions and walked away from me even though they were being friendly to me and my dog just a few minutes beforehand. It was like a click in high school! Have never seen or experienced such an event at a business! Went next door to ATT, transferred all my family's mobile and internet service immediately and even bought a new phone. They helped me set everything up and even texted me to follow up after I called with questions about setting up my modem at home. Such night and day difference in customer service! The issue was finally resolved but not through any support we received through the store or the Xfinity phone support. It was a systems issue with Xfinity that was updated to recognize the equipment we were trying to activate. After waiting one week we discovered by accident when trying a 'final time' to activate the equipment that the system was updated and could now 'see' our equipment. Oddly, this had been described to us by the very first call to Xfinity customer support who referred us to another number to resolve - that led us down a rabbit hole where every subsequent call and store inquiry was met with denial that this could be a problem as they seemed to stick to rote answers and responses. Not listening or problem solving, rather walking us through standard scripts until they came to a dead end. It is unfortunate that problem solving is now pushed to the customer. read more

I would never use Comcast if I could help it. I ordered and received a new modem-world of trouble with my account and installation. Finally got it done and was told I had to return the old modem to a store. First question Why ? They are just going to discard it and it was already off my account. I went to the store in Terra Linda and was told by a rather unpleasant "greeter" that I would have to wait in line to hand over the old modem. Second question Why not just put it on a desk or in a bin ? They now have the modem with it's serial number. 20 minutes waiting and I get to a "customer representative". This was a more pleasant guy but you quickly discover the whole unnecessary process was so you could get a sales pitch for more comcast products . Write me up as very unhappy customer. read more

I was worried about going here because the reviews are so bad. I guess it depends on why you are going there. All I needed to do was return the Flex boxes for my television service. It was a little disorganized but manageable. To get help, you need to sign up with the person holding the Ipad. That's not very clear and there really isn't any line for this. I signed up and about 20 minutes later I was meeting with a rep. I returned my Flex boxes and got a receipt. Suggestion: It would be nice if you could automate the gear return process (like the USPS and returns). Do I really need to wait for 20 minutes to return something? I had a functioning Comcast landline for a few years and two weeks ago the line had so much static I couldn't talk. So I called Comcast, which is challenging to get through, and the static improved for a few days. Then I replaced the phone, then I went down to the store and replace the cable box, and then Comcast came out and replaced the fried cable line -- the installer suggested I call out a electrician and although I have an out of code electrical box all the circuit breakers have been recently replaced and the electricity in the house works fine. Still the static continued and with no other options, I cancelled my landline. The internet works great. read more

I signed up for Xfinity mobile a year ago, buying one new Samsung Galaxy phone for my partner and using my own iPhone 12. They offered a "Buy One Get One Free" (BOGO) deal - two lines for $30 per month. That was a year ago, and for the past year they have billed me $60 per month, not $30, completely ignoring their own BOGO offer! Four phone calls, each a full hour of intense total aggravation, have not solved the problem. Finally they are offering a manual $20 credit each month for the next year, but ONLY if I spend my time calling in manually, fighting my way through their voice prompt system, and ruining the rest of my day. In September, my son and I wanted to switch to Xfinity. They had a promotion where you could get a new iPhone, trade in your old one, and sign up for home internet. When we first went there, the employee quoted us a price that was completely different from what we had seen online. After we pointed this out to him, he admitted he had made a mistake, but that wasn't the main issue. After connecting our home internet, we went to the office to get our phones (I bought a regular 17 and traded in a regular 13, and my son bought a 17 Pro and traded in a regular 14). That day, we were told that we would only receive my new phone and a sticker to send the old one, and that we would have to wait for my son's new phone because it had to be ordered. That was fine with us. I got my new phone, transferred all my data to it, and was ready to send the old one. Then my son's phone was delivered, he transferred the data from his old one, and we were ready to send both old phones for exchange. On the website, we discovered that we only had a sticker for my son's phone, so we called technical support to ask why this was the case, and they told us that we had bought my phone without an exchange, so we went to the store to ask them in person, and they told us that there had been a mistake and that we needed to fill out all the paperwork again, return the phone we had received, and get a new one. After we deleted all the data from the new phone, the employee processed the return and then started filling out the paperwork to get a new one and said that the trade-in value of my old phone would no longer be $670, as it was originally, but only $400. I was unhappy with this. We filled out all the paperwork together with the employee and entered everything correctly. It wasn't my fault, and I was losing $270. So they told me that the only solution would be to either lose $270 because of their mistake, or return the new phone and wait for the next promotion in the hope that we would get the same amount for the exchange that they offered at the beginning, or pay the full amount and keep the old phone. None of the options suit me because they are saying something completely different from what they said at the beginning. Their terrible communication and approach to the matter are unacceptable. A month later, my card was charged for my son's phone, which shouldn't have happened (the new iPhone 17 Pro costs $1,100 and my son's phone trade-in value was $1,100). We called customer service, spent about an hour on the phone, and then they said there had been a mistake and they would refund us. The same thing happened the following month. We called again, spent another hour on the phone, and were told that there had been another mistake and that the money I had paid for my son's phone would be credited to the monthly payment for home internet. I was told I needed to upgrade my cable box for my new tv. I went into the Xfinity store in San Rafael asking for an X1 cable box. The sales clerk went around the store and stockroom and eventually ended back at the first closet where he pulled out an X1. It was not in a box, but the whole thing was wrapped in cellophane. I thought to myself how off that was; that perhaps it was used. But I didn't say anything because you want to trust people. I ended up wasting two hours of my evening on the phone with their 800 number technical support, only to find out that my suspicions were correct. They had given me a used, defective box! Had to go this location to exchange out my XiFi Modem that kept dropping my internet connection like 20 times a day. It was quite busy the day I went even with the COVID-19 Pandemic going on. Was quite a few people waiting in line. I did not have an appointment so I thought it was going to take a while to get my issue resolved. They were quite efficient considering the current state of events we are in, they checked me and asked me what I needed and about within 20 minutes it was my turn and they got me a new modem. It was very simple to set it up using the Xfinity App, remembered my network name and password from previous modem! Thank goodness, didn't want to have to reenter my password on all my devices. I grant it that their customer service on the phone can be lacking at times, but overall I have been a pretty satisfied customer of 15 years or more with them. read more

This store, like many others right now, it is severely understaffed. If you don't make an appointment, the wait times are crazy. If you do make an appointment, you'll have to wait days instead of hours. No win situation. We switched from Verizon to Comcast because we heard that Comcast uses Verizon lines for their mobile phone and it is a much cheaper service then Verizon. Don't do it! I could barely make a phone call from anywhere, and even with Wi-Fi calling in my house, the calls would constantly drop. My husband and I could get in contact with each other for hours out of the day because the service was so bad. I lost touch with my family for the two months I had Comcast mobile because they could not understand me when we talked because the connection was so bad in Novato. We switched to AT&T and we are happy again! read more

I bought an unlocked Samsung S23 Ultra and made an appointment to get help changing to the new phone. Even though I'm a Xfinity mobile customer Erick the technician wanted my social security number so Xfinity would "recognize" my new phone. I asked to speak to a manager he confirmed the need for my SSN and thought it was funny. Since they were laughing I asked to work with another representative. The new guy simply swapped out my SIM card. He didn't tell me I would lose all my data or that Samsung has a "smart switch" to transfer all your data to a new phone. The customer service was terrible. If you're an Xfinity customer or considering switching to Xfinity do your best to avoid this store. Of course they do not need your SSN. If they insist just provide an altered number. read more
