DO NOT RECOMMEND -- BILLING, SECURITY & CUSTOMER SERVICE NIGHTMARE I have only had Xfinity Internet for two months since relocating to Upper Marlboro, and although it was cheaper than Verizon, it has been one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. On July 14, we received what appeared to be a legitimate Xfinity call to pay our bill. The caller had our information, and we even received an Xfinity verification text. We paid, received an email saying the bill was paid, and later discovered serious concerns that our payment and account information had been compromised. When I called Xfinity, I was told my account would be credited by July 20. Instead, I was charged another late fee. I called again on July 27 and was passed around to representatives who gave conflicting information, read scripts, and continued asking me to pay an incorrect balance instead of fixing the problem. Even my installation experience was terrible. The technician asked personal questions unrelated to the installation and made me so uncomfortable that I asked my husband to hurry home. Two months in, I've dealt with security concerns, incorrect billing, late fees, broken promises, and terrible customer service. I will be canceling as soon as Xfinity corrects and zeros out my account. I would not recommend Xfinity to anyone. The cheaper price is NOT worth the frustration. read more

Appalling service. We have no reliable internet which means that I cannot work. I have spent a total of some 12 hours on the phone and negotiating with a visiting tech over the last 4 days and we are no nearer to resolving the problem. Customer service is a horror story - non-technical staff spend a long time bluffing their way around, repeating the same questions with no knowledge of or interest in previous attempts to fix the problem. Constantly emailing trying to get customers to take on services like mobile phone which seem to have dodgy pricing schemes. I never really trusted Xfinity the entire time I had their service. 05Aug2025 Zero Rating. Watchout for Xfinity. Xfinity makes it impossible to cancel or disconnect service online. It's as easy as 1,2,3 to sign up for xfinity service online, but you cannot cancel their service online. You have to go online to make an appointment for them to call you. Then xfinity calls you at their convenience, in my case 5 days later, then the cancellation doesn't take effect on the day you intended to cancel which was on 31Jul25, it takes effect when they call you. Xfinity bills you for the difference. Shady business practices = shady business. I'll be cancelling xfinity internet services in my other locations after this experience. I was frustrated that after my 2 years plan (internet, TV and Phone) expired, the big jump in price ($50 to $100 monthly). I had spent a lot of time and efforts to cut it down a little. Sometime, I had to switch to another provider, went through a lot of hassle to set up and restart everything. Five year ago, I switched to Xfinity, the agent told me, after 2 years, the price increased as normal (yearly price increased $10 to $20). Just like what they said, not a big price jump, I continued my plan. What surprised me with all these 5 years, I never had a single problem, everything was running smoothly with Xfinity provided services. Sometimes, I had questions, and went to the store, the store is spacious, peaceful and clean. Greetings by the friendly frontdesk person and led me to the proper agent. 5 months ago, my computer was running a little slow, I decided to change my old router to the store router for a $15 router monthly rental fee. Agent Sebastion is very knowledgeable, took his time and found the best plan for me, not only no increase in price like rental router fee, and my plan will last another 5 more years without a big jump in price. I have never encountered AA more useless customer support than Xfinity. I used their customer service twice, for very simple issues. One was to get our old phone number ported to our new house, the second was to add a new person to the account so they can also manage it. Both times I spent more than hour getting through to a person who promised to resolve my issue but never did. I'm a senior citizen living in a retirement community. My neighbors are paying 50% less than my plan. I just spent over 1 hour transferred to 5 departments, and still didn't finalize the reduced plan. Outrageous that Comcast is taking advantage of senior citizens and Intentionally harassing us. This is a new low. I was told in order to reduce my plan, I'd have to cancel my plan and wait 90 days to start a new plan. Are you kidding me?? Shameful behavior. Keep you on the phone with texting, no live talk. Then when you have live talk they get to confuse you with ...you entered middle of billing cycle... We quickly paid down payment so they wouldn't end our subscription. Our bill always been $345. After winter snowbird lower amount they charged us $510. Finally got to talk to someone who said will reduce to $345. They wanted review right away but I didn't do till our next cycle. Next auto pay they took the $510. They advised not to change plans cause they don't do our good plan any more. So we didn't. But we're not happy. We think they are pretty much the only thing we can use in our area. wow. Let's start the saga with the fact that they screwed up my initial installation, and I had to rush around to get the service set up. The DVR does not operate...so I contacted them via the in-app support chat (5 times). It is functional now but still doesn't operate as advertised. I knew going-in uploads were capped. It's bad, considering that the connection is two-way and the company adds an artificial cap on uploads. I just found out that the network has unknown or unannounced outages frequently. As in 2-3 times a WEEK. We get 33% of the download speeds we are paying for. The highest ever is 50% of the paid-for bandwidth. Oh by the way if you need their customer support? You better have fast typing skills because there is no way on this earth to contact in less than an hour via phone. If they didn't have a monopoly where I lived I would switch right now. read more

My husband originally contacted this company for a quote for internet service and ultimately decided not to go with this company for internet or any other service Xfinity provides. To say this company is aggressive with their sales pitch is an understatement. The sales representatives that contact us do not stop even when we say we do not want to be contacted any more. When calling the help line, expect to speak with someone in the Philippines. I've never been fond of outsourcing to foreign countries. Prepare to be on the phone for at least 60 minutes, often hearing about the challenging circumstances of their compensation not covering monthly rent. VERY unhappy with XFINITY MOBILE - their customer service availability and response - and will be changing my provider as soon as I can. Without warning, they cancelled my promo on my apple watch because I linked it to my wife's number and upgraded to a new one. I took advantage of a recent promotion to buy a new Apple Watch SE. After using it for a month, I decided to upgrade to the Apple Watch 9 and give my wife (also on my account) the Apple Watch SE. I confirmed with an online chat representative (because it is so hard to get someone on the phone due to your automated system) that I could transfer my watch to her and followed the online instructions to upgrade to my new watch. I then immediately moved the Apple Watch SE to my wife's number on my account. After completing the move, I noticed that it showed the SE had been disconnected and the SE (now, my wife's watch) came in as a bring your own watch, notwithstanding that it has the same IMEI number as the one that was linked to my number previously. I figured this was an error, so I tried to get in touch with Xfinity Mobile. This did not fit into their list of issues the automated system could help with, so I was referred to a chat box and then after answering another series of question to a callback. After being on the phone for about an hour and explaining the situation, I was told by the representative that they would need to apply the promo to the new watch and it would take approximately 72 hours. A week later there was no change, so I started the process of calling Xfinity Mobile again, and was told they would apply the promo while I waited online for another hour (after this was elevated to first level and then second level response). However, due to a system error they could not apply it. After all that, I asked to speak to a supervisor. After waiting another 20 minutes, I was told essentially that by upgrading the watch (and the system automatically disconnecting the SE), I forfeited the promo and they would do nothing for me as they thanked me for my long-term loyalty to XFINITY, notwithstanding that I have both watches on the network. This is ridiculous treatment of any customer, but especially a long-term customer, and I will be leaving XFINITY MOBILE and telling friends and family not to use them. read more

We have Xfinity TV & internet in our apartment. I received an email telling me that Xfinity can send me a new modem that will dramatically increase my internet speed. They offered to mail me the new modem, and I can return the old one. No brainer, right? Wrong. I got the new modem, and it included no installation/activatio instructions. All I received was a card telling me to log onto the Xfinity app for the instructions, but no hint as to where to find these instructions on their webpage. Even when I log into my account, there's no window or flag telling me, "We see you have a new modem. Click here for installation instructions." Nothing like that. No hint of where to find these instructions. Also, Xfinity did not send me an address label to return the old modem. Instead, I learned from their website that I'm expected to drive to an Xfinity store and return it myself (no doubt after waiting in line for an extended period). Given the $200+ I send Xfinity every month, I figured they'd be happy to send a technician to my apartment to (a) install the new modem and (b) take my old modem. Again, I was wrong. The customer service tech told me I can expect to pay $100 for a technician appointment, given that "nothing is wrong" with my service. It's like they're deliberately making an art of infuriating their customer base. If only FiOS were available in my building... read more

Avoid at all costs. Their customer service is the worst. Failed to connect after I spent an hour on the phone trying to set up service. On the next call, I had to go through the whole thing again, got transferred to three people, and then was told I had to speak with yet another. 45 minutes later, I hung up. Mind you, all of this after I got confirmation of my service, had picked up the router, and was billed the initial fees. I still don't have service, but you can bet they have my money. I don't think we have ever had a mistake-free, smooth experience with them. After wasting the better part of two days trying to get our service installed (new house doesn't have a cable line routes to it. They routed it to a sewer clean out) and then we needed it re-installed to our current house after it was mistakenly cut off--I don't really feel like going into details, but you get the idea. A new underground cable had to be pulled to our house in order to deliver service including the broadband internet. This required some inspections to make sure that the digging would not interfere with water, gas, electric or phone services in the area. After that, a Comcast installer came out on August 17 (our original desired service date was July 12) and connected the line to drops inside the house. He was from the business service dept, which worked in our favor as he did a great job. I had purchased a new cable modem because the one we previously used was not compatible with the new service. We were given a level of service that included voice (phone) but the cable modem doesn't do voice. Happy to see around 900 Mbits download speed. Back in business with telework, home automation, etc. and cable TV. Long story short, don't trust the Xfinity "move" web site to get the job done. Have a backup plan such as hot spots if internet access is critical after a move. Good luck! read more

Three solid days of intermittent outages - and now a total outage estimated to last another 27 hours - is the last straw. But try cancelling!!! Can't do it by phone - you get an endless loop of outage updates. Can't do it online - best you can do is sign up for a phone call the following day. There is a reason this company has one of the worst Customer Service records in the industry. Signed up with T-Mobile, and cancelled the Auto-pay. Xfinity service is horrible. It constantly goes in and out. They send text messages every day if not every other day stating that there is an outage I've called to get this situation handled they sent someone out to me. The technician by the name of Antoine badge number 68256 customer service was absolutely horrible smart the mouth and refused to handle the problem because he couldn't figure it out. He one modem, but not the other and stated that I would have to call. To schedule another appointment because he couldn't figure out the situation once asked him to call his supervisor. He called a number and it went immediately straight to voicemail. Pretty sure that's not how that works. Now the technician is refusing to help because he can't figure out this issue and it's leaving me with crappy Wi-Fi that isn't working properly 0 out of 10. I am absolutely appalled at my experience with Xfinity tonight. Just switching to a new cable box was a nightmare, as it repeatedly had me resetting passwords and other nonsense that was illogical. And nothing I did worked. I spent an hour trying to get through the chat bot assistant who was useless, and speak to a live agent. I spent another hour speaking to someone who was no help whatsoever and ended up turning off the cable altogether. When I asked to speak to her manager she said sure, and supposedly transferred me, as I sat for another hour having no one answer. Now my 80 year old mother has no tv at all. She and I will both be switching from Xfinity, and I will also find another provider for my business. I hope they realize how much money they just lost. read more

Then, before they would address the problem with THEIR OWN equipment, Xfinity forced me to jump through hoops to reset my password... another time-consuming and utterly ridiculous hassle! The arrogance of these people! I demanded to talk to an actual "human". Xfinity puts up every barrier possible to talking to a human. Was promised a "same day" technician only to be told later they could not fulfill their promise. All these poor employees do is apologize for this company year after year, but NOTHING ever changes. I called to cancel Internet. They gave me a hard sell on mobile service and I agreed to change bc Xfinity promised to cut my pre-pay bill in half. After a huge headache, I was able to change to xfinity and pay a $45 set up fee (surprise). After 9 days, I ran "out of data". They put me on a plan with 1 GB data, but didn't tell me. Yes, that's one GB. To get more data, I would have to pay MORE than Verizon, so I cancelled the plan. I paid $22 plus $20 over data limit fee plus $45 set up fee for two weeks of service. That's DOUBLE the monthly cost of my old Verizon account. Now I'm starting from scratch with Verizon and I lost my loyalty benefits. Not a lot of money, but hours of frustration for nothing. Holy hell. Comcast/Xfinity had garbage customer service in the early 2000's. I've returned to the area and low and behold, it's the same garbage customer service. I signed up solely for home internet service. I received 6 emails to my personal email address in the days leading up to install. Install day came and the tech showed up early which was pretty cool. He was done pretty quickly and zero issues. A few days go by and I go online to set-up my account. I spend over an hour with Xfinity's online chat which proved worthless.
