My then fiance and I had looked at over 50 photographers, but once we came across Xiaopan's work, we knew she was the one. We hired Xiaopan before COVID wreaked havoc on our wedding planning. Due to COVID, we were forced to postpone our reception. However, we wanted to keep our wedding date so we held an intimate micro-wedding in my parents' backyard. I've had the opportunity to work with Xiaopan on two different occasions so far: 1) for a Valentine's Day mini shoot and 2) for a side hustle entrepreneurship series for our school's cultural centers. I first met Xioapan when my cousins and I had a photoshoot and I fell in love with all of our photos. As soon as I knew I needed to book my graduation photos, I knew I had to contact her. When I first reached out to her, she set up a Zoom meeting with me and went over all of our options. She was super professional and explained to me dates for the photos and what she needed from me. After I booked and secured a date with her, she sent me a guidebook on the type of outfits I should wear and how I could prepare for the photo shoot. Xiaopan is simply amazing! I've followed her work on Instagram since my fiancé told me about her, and I've been awed by the special moments she captures so beautifully. I graduated in May of 2020 but I did not want to take graduation pictures because I gained a lot of weight in college. I lost about 55lbs and wanted to finally take my graduation photos. Although I felt ready, in the back of my head, I was so conscious and concerned I'd still hate the photos are that I would not feel pretty or like how I looked in them. Working with Xiaopan was a unique and amazing experience. After winning an IG contest, my girlfriend used the opportunity to do shots of our 5 year anniversary, and they turned out great. I had a branding photo shoot with Ms. Xiaopan Xue early March of 2021. It was my first branding photoshoot and I was not sure what to expect.   On our first call, Ms. Xue had a series of questions on my business and the purpose of me soliciting her services.   Ms. Xue  presented a variety package services based on my needs.   Her service packages were clear and the prices were reasonable!! Immediately I booked a service,  paid a deposit, she then submitted an informational package with tips for the day of the photoshoot and then we scheduled another 1:1. Prior to the 1:1 session she provided a list of questions to discuss for our meeting.   For example, what are my business values, who are my ideal clients, what the photos will be used for, etc.   Such questions allowed me to reflect on what I wanted to convey in my branding photoshoot and my business.   This was deep for me!! On the day of the 1:1 session we discussed all the questions.  Also she  provided suggestions and guidance preparing for the photoshoot such as choosing a location, props, outfits and making a schedule for the day of the photoshoot. Xiaopan is such a down to earth photographer and truly encourages her subjects to be as authentic as possible! I had never had professional photos taken before booking a grad session with her, but I don't think I could take pictures with anyone else.
