After being loyal customers we are now done with this location. Aside from them being hard to get through to once you do half the time the order is wrong. So today I call to explain our order is wrong when I got him not only did I get a bunch of attitude the phone had to be passed around three times before someone could understand me which is also the problem when you order here. After waiting 13 minutes in the front of the shop, I had to poke my head in the kitchen to ask if someone was taking orders. We ordered 2 orders of bean tacos. The tacos were bland and a little oily. This place was great! I was in town for a couple hours for work and saw this place had good reviews. I was skeptical when I pulled up and even when I walked in, but it turned out to be delicious, authentic Mexican food! The lady that rang me up at the register was nice too. I got the Chimichanga (no meat) which was listed as an option on their menu (one with no meat). I was excited to see a vegetarian option and it lived up to my anticipation. Refried beans, yummy cheese, fresh avocado slices, green verde hot sauce. Yum!! Will go back next time I'm in town. read more

My brother and I were staying in Auburndale to go to a family reunion. Based on the reviews here, we decided to give Ximenas Tacos a try for an early dinner. I'm glad that we did. We happened to hit Ximenas on a Monday when they have $1.00 tacos (down from $1.25). I ordered a tostada and a couple of tacos, and my brother the same. We ordered a variety in our tacos; I had steak and pork, and my brother had one with a specialty meat that I wouldn't touch but he liked it. While waiting for our meals, we were served salsa and chips. The chips were obviously hand fried on site and the salsa was quite good, albeit with a little kick if you don't like heat in your salsa (I do). The tacos were small and of the soft variety, but very tasty. They would have been well worth the $1.25 to me if I had come on a different day. The tostada was also smaller than what you see at the big chain Mexican places, but it was delicious. I was comfortably full after eating. Our entire bill (no beverages) was about $11 before tip. The restaurant was uncrowded, unsurprising for the time of day, but our server was friendly and attentive. As others have mentioned the restaurant is in a former service station, but the ambience inside was fine for casual dining. This was some of the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. If they were in my hometown, I'd probably be dropping in a couple of times a week. Highly recommended. read more

The best place to eat in Auburndale hands down. They tend to get the orders wrong for takeout so definitely check before you leave the building but the food is great. The tacos are fantastic and the pork is the best. Steak and chicken tacos are good but trust me, get the pork tacos. Love the green sauce they give you with it and looking forward to trying more items on the menu there. read more

My family ordered take out tacos & after 30 minutes of waiting I was finally given the guacamole salsa requested. The people at the front were rude & the wait caused the food to get cold. Went on Cinco de Mayo... it was busy, but worth every minute we waited. All food is extremely fresh and affordable. The tostada is incredible, loaded with flavor. The enchiladas were a treat as well. We tried about half the menu and wouldn't hesitate to return. read more

The food is delicious and they also have better prices than many of the other Mexican restaurants. Small style street tacos, very good. Instead of refried beans they use a white bean and it's very good. My husband had a huge burrito. I'd recommend this place for sure. read more

Very casual but clean joint fun by a sweet family that makes TERRIFIC classic Mexican eats. Start off with a horchata (light but good) and, if you like a slew of small plates like me, order the smaller plates for cheap goodness. Ask for the hotter salsa for your chips! This is the worst tasting Mexican I've had since I was in Mexico and my friends convinced me "Senior Frogs" is "close enough to authentic Mexican food". I got the chimichanga, which is my go to meal for Mexican but this was so bad I ate half and got an immediate stomach ache. The Shell was greasy, the chicken was cooked poorly, and it was topped by an awful tasting cheese instead of traditional queso sauce. The chips were so hard they hurt my teeth, and the salsa had no taste. Extremely over priced for what you get as well. Overall a very poor experience. read more

Hole in the wall with authentic Mexican food. Great cuisine for the price. My three year old had two cheese quesadillas (that she devoured. The food was pretty good. The waitress couldn't really understand English and knew little about the food. She never came back to check on us. When we went to the counter to order another item she told us she would be right there and there were two other tables it was not super busy when we got there. This was a great restaurant. We drove a little out-of-the-way from Legoland because of the great reviews and they didn't let us down. Small local restaurant and the food was outstanding. Two great chimichangas for me and the wife and the kids each had a cheese quesadilla and small burritos. The service was excellent the chips were obviously homemade and wonderful along with the homemade salsa to go with. Would recommend this to anyone. read more

The food is good unfortunately their phone service is terrible so you won't be able to get ahold of the company unless you go in person. nobody answers the phone and if &when they do finally answer the phone they immediately put you on hold indefinitely and forget about you. Easy way to lose business. I suspect it's due to poor management and the staff is overworked and shifts are understaffed. Phone calls are neglected when it comes to incoming calling customers so don't bother placing an order save yourself the time either show up in person or don't bother calling to place an order. read more
