I had never been to Costa Azul before. I came in while my kid was finishing up a birthday party…read morearound the corner. All I wanted was a Coke, chips and salsa, and queso. I had no idea that they offered a small bowl of complementary ceviche, which is actually really good. Like, so good, that I'm going to have to go back just to get that. The queso was also good. It was the standard white queso that I commonly associate with the Midwest because for the longest I couldn't get it on the East Coast, but it's not queso fundido. They offer Coke from a fountain, which is a huge plus. And the salsa was really good. The chips and salsa were free, so they absolutely get bonus points for that. It was a random Saturday evening when I came in, and they were setting up for what looked like live music and a fun night. The service was really good and parking was easy since it's in a plaza. I would highly recommend this place. They were fast and super sweet.

While looking at the menu, we were served the complimentary chips and salsa which was good. For entrees, we had Filete ala Crema, al Gusto Soup, and Tacos (I forgot which one specifically). The serving sizes were humongous! The Filete ala Crema could probably we shared by 2-3 people. I could say the same for the soup and the tacos. We could say that the seafood was fresh - no funny smells and the food was prepared well. The prices were reasonable. We would love to go back for when we are craving for seafood.

I have tried carnitas in so many places and hands down this is the best around. I live in Alexandria and drive the hour when in the mood. The staff are super nice and helpful and although the changed owners they haven't skipped a beat in the cooking. The place in general is quiet and calm and I highly recommend it.

About a 1-1.5: Tortilleria el Molino - what happened?!…read more I remember your carne asada and your carnitas tacos being super tasty and have always looked forward in stopping by when in the area. However, the most recent visit showed how drastically you have changed - not sure if it's the recipe, cutting corners, new chefs... I ordered the carne asada and the al pastor tacos, with onions but opted out of cilantro. The filling was super generous; however, the carne asada were not the small little chunks of steak as they used to be - it was more ground beef-like? The al pastor, while the marinade was laid on super thick, I just wasn't a fan of the tangy flavor it had; plus, there were not slices of pineapples, which is my favorite part. The hot sauce seemed a bit watered down, but it still held a kick. Staff were friendly, as always; no complimentary chips due to the current pandemic, which is understandable. I was just super disappointed with the tacos... +changed recipe?! +friendly staff +plenty of parking in plaza lot
