The first time my hubs and I visited Squamish a few years ago we discovered the cute, little Xoco Chocolate shop! Love how pretty the truffles and chocolate bars are. The bars come as milk or dark chocolate with dried fruits and nuts pressed into them or just nuts or biscuit pearls or are sprinkled with sea salt. As someone who cannot digest dairy, it was wonderful to see that the dark chocolate bars are vegan and contain no dairy. We also had a chance to chat with the friendly owner and it was a great experience. A few weeks ago we visited Squamish again and were happy to see that the chocolate bars still look amazing. We bought a bunch of bars and now have a decent stash to last for a while and to give as gifts. Though it's hard to moderate when the bars taste so good. Thank you, Xoco Chocolate! read more

If you're headed up the Sea to Sky highway from Vancouver it's worth a stop in Squamish. One place you should definitely check out is Xoco Chocolate. The dark chocolate bars with roasted nuts and dried fruits is one of favorites. The quality of the dark chocolate is very good and the bars taste as good as they look. The dark chocolate is vegan. It's a cute shop and the owner and staff are great. They also have milk chocolate bars and beautiful chocolate confections. We're dark chocolate fans so we haven't tried them. They havent made the ice cream bars in 2 yrs. They tell us they were too much work to make but it was the only thing we used to go in there for. Not sure if the older female owner passed the shop down to the son, but we really hope they reconsider making them again. This is a must visit place if you are a chocolate lover or snob. The owner knows her chocolate. It was a joy chatting with her and learning about the various types of chocolate. If you like hot chocolate and make your own, you can ask to buy the chocolate nubs. They are available by weight so you do not need to buy the actual package. Plus no tax if you do the by weight thing too. Some samples were available and they were amazing. The fancy truffles and artisan chocolates were so gorgeous. I bought some ($1.50 each) and had them on the spot. Delicious! Though they would be much better savored at home one at a time with intervals. I could not wait. Lol. The house dark chocolate truffle was simple and plain. Pure chocolate heaven. For the artisan chocolate, I tried the matcha yuzu (very light citrus flavor), the lavender (beautiful violet color and was also lightly flavored) and the salted caramel Venezuela. They were all so good. Oh the cake was great too. Gluten free. We had the triple chocolate mousse. So yummy. This is the chocolate I love. I will gladly make the drive to Squamish just to buy the chocolates here in future. read more

My husband and I were staying at an Airbnb near by and just happened to see this shop. We went in thinking it was just another cute chocolate shop. However, this was not the case. We were blown away at how good and innovated the chocolate was. I bought the brittle that had a hint of lemon and was so good. I also bought a surprise chocolate egg for my friends birthday. My friend went nuts over the egg and was soon browsing on the website to get more. This is a hidden treasure that everyone must try. We will be back on our next trip up to Canada. read more

Oh man, just the smell as you walk by is enough to make you start drooling. Their drinking chocolate on chilly days is to die for. The cakes for special occasions are a must. I love their deliciousness at this place. I've stopped by before for their lemon tart and chocolates. I've walked by a few times when I have been in Squamish and they were not open at the time. But today I was in luck and tried one of their Chocolate dome cakes. Very tasty. Similar to places like Thierry Chocolaterie Patisserie Cafe in Vancouver. If your in the area check this place out. Oh dear, it's a good thing I don't live in Squamish, as this place is DANGEROUS. They have a dessert case full of lovely cakes and pastries that I would loved to have tried, but as we were on the go on a road trip, it didn't seem feasible. They DID, however, have a number of chocolates and truffles which you could buy individually, which is what we did, promptly scarfing them down before we'd even left the store. The first thing you should know is that these chocolates are properly beautiful. They are, for the most part, identical round little half moons with a smooth solid shell, and a cream or caramel interior. Each flavour's shell features bright colours, and shiny, intricate designs - they just gorgeous to look at, almost space-agey, and I can't recall seeing any chocolates like these anywhere else. We decided to split the Raspberry and the Earl Grey Tea infused caramel between the two of us. It's been over a week since we tried them, and I still can't get the thought of them out of my mind, that's how great they are. This place is definitely a must-stop if you're on your way to or from Whistler - and for goodness sakes, take a cooler so you can maybe take home something from the patisserie cooler! I'll definitely be back to buy more...unless they want to deliver to the Lower Mainland? read more

If I could give them more stars than this I would. Without a doubt they deserve at least double. The amazing aroma of rich warm chocolate beckons you in right off the street (as if I wasn't on my way there to begin with). I was surprised when I ventured in about a year ago to find a major revamp, They have rebranded and are now called OXCO (pronounced Choco) It has definitely been upgraded to be more modern and sophisticated. At first I thought oh no another Squamish business fancied up for the tourists and losing its small town charm. I was dead wrong. Nothing has been lost here and the changes have only served to make an already amazing shop into a spectacular shop. They still carry many or all of the original treats they always have ie: Triple Chocolate Mousse Cups, Cream Cheese Brownies, Lemon Bars etc. however they slightly changed the look but they also added a few extra touches that for lack of a better term really class them up. These have gone from cute little treats to flashy desserts that you could easily pass off as something from Fauborg or Thierry no question. Personally I like to stop in when I am around Squamish and grab a triple chocolate mousse cup. They have a new bar which is a Caramel Pretzel Peanut Brownie that is just out of this world. I have told 3 people about it an every one of they have raved and given thanks that I have. You should go here there is absolutely no way you will regret the decision. As if the treats aren't enough of a reason to call this place great the young guy who works here (I believe he is one of the owners) really pushes this place over the top. We came across this place by chance. They make their own chocolates using very carefully selected ingredients. The first time we visited we took pot luck and bought a wide variety, but only one or two of each. We spent a fair amount but our only regret was that we didn't buy more. Second time we knew what we were doing and just kept adding more. When you stop off at a store a thousand miles from home you may as well indulge. It is impossible to recommend one thing in particular. The staff are very helpful and unless you are allergic or dislike one of the ingredients you should probably just say yes. They also do gift boxes and various hopelessly decadent deserts, the Nanaimo bar is probably the sweetest thing I ever ate. If someone in your life deserves high end chocolates this is the place to get them. Way better value than some commercial package. read more

Xocolatl has been in Squamish for at least 15 years. The previous review notes their assortment of Belgium chocolates and baked goods, but nothing is more decadent than their beautiful assortment of cakes. When asked to a family dinner we are always asked to bring their Triple Chocolate Mousse Cake. You can find this decadent dessert in other stores, but this is by far the very best!!! The owner of this store has won awards for their Belgium chocolates. Xocolatl Chocolate Creations is truly an asset to the town of Squamish! read more
