I walked in on a weekday afternoon for a simple gel polish removal and was seen almost immediately, so I'll give credit where it's due--they were able to accommodate me quickly and service me quickly. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. From the moment I walked in, the staff seemed disorganized and couldn't decide who was going to help me. Since I understand Vietnamese, I also understood the conversations happening around me. It felt like no one was particularly interested in taking my service until I mentioned I would also be getting a pedicure. Even during my appointment, I was repeatedly asked if I wanted gel polish applied after I had already said no multiple times. What bothered me most was the atmosphere. Throughout my visit, several technicians openly mocked and complained about customers in Vietnamese, seemingly assuming no one else could understand them. I watched older clients get talked about simply because they needed a little more help finding the color displays. Another elderly customer politely asked for UV-protective gloves during her gel service, and instead of simply providing them, one technician questioned why she wanted them until another technician explained that they do offer the gloves and should just give them to her. As more elderly women came in, there were additional comments and exasperated reactions in Vietnamese that made it obvious they were annoyed by having older clients. A nail salon should be a place where people can relax and feel respected, regardless of their age or the services they're requesting. Instead, the environment felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. If you speak Vietnamese, you may hear conversations about customers that were never meant for them to understand. Between the constant gossip, the lack of professionalism, and the disrespect shown toward clients, I won't be returning. If you're looking for a peaceful, welcoming salon experience where customers are treated with kindness and respect, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. read more

I'm new to the area so maybe this is a normal thing but my first visit here wasn't the best. I'm not one to mind paying a little extra for more but I genuinely only needed a relaxed color change on my toes. I personally don't get gel pedicures because I don't like them. The nail tech told me she had to remove gel I had and I told her I don't have gel- I don't ever get gel on my toes lol I was quoted $28 over the phone for a regular pedicure. I understand options for other add ons but I just had all that recently & mainly care about a relaxed color change. The nail tech came off a bit pushy explaining why a $46 pedicure is best for me. I politely declined. My other take away is that $28 comes with a "light massage" which is a quick rub up and down the calves & a towel wipe I've never experienced such petty pedicure. I'm a religious 20% tipper and this was the first time I tipped 15%. I live down the street so I was really hoping I'd make this conveniently my new nail home but I will not be returning. read more

BEWARE OF SNEAKY UPCHARGES I usually have a great experience here and Thalia once again did an excellent job with my gel manicure. However, I am extremely upset about my pedicure experience. I had Liza, who asked at the start which pedicure I wanted. I clearly said I wanted a regular pedicure. When I went to pay, my total was $83!!! $37 for the gel manicure and $46 for the pedicure. The regular pedi that I wanted should've been twenty something. Liza claimed I agreed to an upgraded pedicure, which I absolutely did not. To make matters worse, when I looked at what the upgraded pedicure is supposed to include, several of those services weren't even performed. This feels dishonest and left me very disappointed. read more

I called ahead to make sure they had time for the services I wanted - a gel fill mani & gel pedi (they close at 7) and they said it was fine to come in at 6, I ended up arriving a little earlier at 5:50. They have a menu of options for services and I asked for the most basic because I didn't want to keep them there late & didn't want to spend the $111 for the deluxe option - the lady either didn't understand me or ignored my request because I was charged for the more deluxe service (and an extra $15 for french tips) but only the pedicure lady did the scrub & massage. My mani did not come with anything other than the fill & color and was not done well. I ended up being charged $126, which is so expensive for the poor service. The pictures show the issues with the mani, polish does not cover the tip, when doing the french mani she pushed the nail polish into my cuticles and it stained my fingers and 24 hours & several hand washes later it's not coming off. I'm going to need to pay another salon to fix the manicure and it's frustrating that I was charged for the deluxe services and did not receive them or even a good manicure. The pedicure was ok but I will definitely not be going back and if you do go be careful with what service you are being charged for, the price is not worth the services received. read more

I do not recommend this place to anyone anymore. First of all, none of the employees speak English, so there is no way to communicate with them -- nor do they care what the customer really wants. If you ask something or express a concern, they start talking in their own language and laugh. Super rude and unprofessional. I'll add pictures of my Gel-X nails that they just did a few minutes ago. I chose this place based on Google reviews but I really should have checked the help reviews. This place was unlike anyplace I've been before. I have gotten my gel overlay removed numerous times and this the first time I've had them removed like this . I came as a walk in, asked for gel overlay removal and a manicure. The first layer of the gel overlay was buffed off by the nail drill then the interesting part happens. Mind you, there's no sort of vacuum mechanism to catch the flying debris. I'm wearing black so I'm covered with what's flying off. I was expecting the usual finger tips covered in cotton soaked in acetone then wrapped in foil. Nope. I was given a bowl of steaming hot water that was under a plastic bag filled with acetone. You're not supposed to heat aceton. I should have walked away at this moment but I wanted to trust my nail tech. Repetitive dips and drills later, she decided that she did enough. The water was hot enough to steep some tea so I kept lifting my nails out. This did not make her happy so she shoved my hand deeper into the bowl and added more acetone to " help" with the temperature. My fingers became stiff and dry. She was drilling away as if she was in a rush to leave so sometimes it got hot and I'd wince. She told me she was only taking a little bit off because she didn't want my nails to be thin which I get but not all nails were buffed down equally. Certain nails had more product left over than the other. I have engraved marks from the drill bits in my nails. She then aggressively hand buffed my nails. Barely any care was put into cuticles and everything was just haphazardly trimmed. I didn't even asked for polish because I just wanted to leave. I paid my bill and left. $32 and a $5 tip. It was my first time here and I felt like I was just an easy money grab for the day. How did I know she was in a hurry? She stood up the entire time. She didn't sit while she did my nails. She kept telling other people to " load up the car first I'll be there " ( I am vietnamese. I understood it all). Now I have to look for another nail salon to help me take off the rest of the product on my nails. I do not recommend coming here. And to Lisa, be more gentle with your clients. I made it known plenty of times when something hurt or felt uncomfortable but you kept making excuses. read more

Terrible, they didn't want to do French on my natural nails, the lady made me get extension. Today my index was broken I went and I waited a lot to get fixed (something that doesn't happen to those who go get the nails done) and the lady put pander instead the gel I had before and now the index looks completely different thick and horrible. By the way she was in a rush because there was more people coming before closing and she was not even waiting for the lap to go the seconds or nothing. I paid for manicure gel chrome and pedicure gel the total was 92 dollars. Aside from the price being more than what I normally would pay, my complaint is how my manicure came out, you cannot tell they have chrome in them. It looks as if I have clear coating. On top of that my ring finger and middle finger, the nail polish looks thick compared to the other nails. I've been getting my nails done for almost 10 years, and this is absolutely the worst nail salon I've ever been to. Pictures are worth a thousand words and they had a lady named Hue(?) who did the most crooked nail work I've seen. They then tried to fix it by giving me their best manicurist Mia and she proceeded to do a bad job with such a bumpy texture. Even worse, the pedicure was also awful. The lady just cut my toe nails and trimmed it in less than 5 min and started painting them. I've never had such a callous and short pedicure before. Birthday nails!! I wanted super cute nails and thankfully I found XOXO Nail Bar. They are located in the same plaza as one of the pilates studio I go to, Neauxmix Fit and Walmart off Barranca and Von Karmen. I called earlier that morning and made an appointment 10 minutes after my pilates work out so I had enough time to walk over. I was immediately greeted and welcomed when I arrived. All of the ladies working here were super sweet. I was assigned to Tammy and we really got along. Tammy removed my gel and brought me a lovely selection to choose a new color from. They even had a new DND Mermaid collection that I have not seen at any other nail shops. I likey!! The Mermaid collection has all the glittery shimmery looking shades that I absolutely adore!! Ultimately I decided on the DND Mermaid Collection #241 Light Salmon. The picture I took did not do it justice because you have to be in person to see how its pigmentation reflects with the light. It's so beautiful!! Tammy was really fun to chat to through the course of my service and she did an amazing job on my nails. I've been getting so many compliments. so i come here a lot to get my nails done and this was honest to God a really shitty experience this time. I called to see how much certain things were because I've never gotten them done before and it was fine when I called but when I got there, some passive aggressive comments were made about how oh yeah you're the one that called to ask how much this was ha ha ha and then after that, the lady that was doing my nails clearly did not like doing my nails. Had a good experience at XoXo getting a gel mani with a simple heart design. My technician Mia was a few minutes late, but she was very apologetic about it so I didn't mind too much. She worked fast but careful and was very patient when working on the nail art. It turned out pretty well and I thought the price of ~$60 was reasonable ($15 up charge for the design). The nail bar is in a slightly run down Walmart anchored retail center, so the exterior looked kinda dated, but interior was fairly renovated and appeared clean and bright! read more

Terrible quality nails in terms of durability and strength. Very overpriced considering the quality of material and techniques used. My nail broke immediately the next day without having done any strenuous activity. I returned to have it corrected as I spent over $120 on the hand/feet set and it had been 1 day since the nails were completed. They were reluctant to fix it and then agreed to fix the broken nail. The next day 2 other nails broke (quite painful too). All I can say is very cheap quality materials and higher than the average market price for the surrounding area. Poor business strategy.
