I am extremely skeptical about the honesty of auto repair shops in general. My husband took our Dodge in to get an estimate for the A/C repair we needed. Jon gave my husband a price to fix it - "out the door" as he said. It was a huge amount we'd been saving for, and agreed to get the work done. When my husband picked up the car, he was told there was an issue with the vents and there would be an additional charge to fix that. When I heard that, I called Jon and was very angry. I told him that out the door meant to me that the work would be completed in its entirety for the price quoted. (I know this sounds negative, but read to the end!) Jon apologized, and asked us to return the car for him to take a look at it, and that he'd work with us. He did so, and fixed the additional issue, which turned out to be something on their end that they needed to do anyway. I apologized for getting hot headed on the phone, he kindly said he hadn't taken it to heart, and that he was sorry for their error. In good faith, I left our Dodge truck there to get an estimate for the A/C (which was out also!) and Jon later called my husband and told him he fixed the A/C at no charge. It was just a freon issue. Taking my 2003 Honda CR-V to Xpress Automotive for the troubled air conditioning system was the smartest thing I've done with the car. The Honda CR-V from aI think 2002 to 2005 has had compressor problems that are challenging at best. Mine literally detonated. I worked with Jon, the manager. He not only gave me the best price, I have to say unqualifiedly, the best service. the compressor is known for it's problems. It's detonated 4 times during the 2 year warranty. I never leave with a bill. The warranty is honored. Today was time 5. This time, they went out and bought an OEM compressor. They're expensive. But they felt it was the right thing to do so I wouldn't have problems again. My bill? Zero. Zip. Nada. Cipher. They have integrity, don't fix what isn't wrong, and have never charged me for diagnosing my problem. They have become my mechanics for life. read more

I have now been to Xpress Automotive for oil changes, and headlight/brakelight replacement on my VW Beetle. I have been impressed with the honesty, professionalism, friendliness, and knowledge exhibited by the staff, mainly Danny and Frank. They even gave me a ride home while my car was being worked on, so I didn't have to walk in the heat. I had questions and concerns about my vehicle, which they checked out and were honest that they could not locate the problem (which I have found during research on forums is a common theme with this particular problem with the car). I have taken my car to dealers in the past that have tried to charge me to do work that did not need to be done. It was refreshing to find an honest auto mechanic that did not try to charge for unnecessary work, and who offered support in finding additional channels to research the problem. First off I would like to state that Xpress provides a quality and timely service which alone would keep me coming back time and time again. But my experiences with Xpress automotive have been enjoyable because of an employee named Dan. I believe he might be a manager of sorts, but that doesn't matter. The service he provides on a personal level is above compare, he takes the time to work with you and identify priority issues with your vehicle to help keep you in budget, if you're like me and can't spend every dollar on your car, but keeps you without a vehicle for the least amount of time possible and balances a personal and professional demeanor that makes your visit all the more pleasant. Finally I've found an auto-repair shop that I can trust. I move every 2-3 years for work and it's always challenging finding a new, quality shop. Wassek and his mechanics are very helpful and friendly. The first time we came here, my pregnant wife shredded her tire when I was at work. Wassek offered to drive her home so she didn't have to wait until the work was complete. I've been taking both our cars here ever since for all kinds of repairs...they do it all. The mechanics even take their time to show me, hands-on, what the diagnosis is and how they fixed it if I ask. Prices are very fair and they always call with an estimate before starting work. As a single mom I don't have a lot of disposable income to spend. Car repair shops usually leave me feeling a screwed over and unhappy. Jon and the mechanics at Xpress Automotive in Ahwatukee are top notch. They not only were fair in their pricing but did great work! They were super nice and super fast.....I wanted an oil change, but didn't want to deal with the lines and the coupons and the cheesy waiting rooms. I drove up on a Saturday morning and although there were cars in the bays, they said they could take me right then. By the time it took me to get a cup of coffee and walk to the bank (two buildings over)....it was only a 15 minute wait. On a Saturday morning! Isn't that when everyone does their errands? I was pleasantly surprise to find out this place has new owners. I bring my car to this place every time I visit my parents. The last owner had two mechanics that were ripping him off, they would offer discounts and offer to do the job under the table. I tried getting ahold of the old owner but he was never available. I never took their offers since I felt they were doing it to keep the money themselves. I'm so glad the new owner does not have those two thieves working for him, and even gladder that he is always available to make sure me and my parents are being taken good care of. I get ALL of my major mechanical repairs (it's a mechanic, not a body shop) done here. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and I have never had my truck kept longer than I was told in the estimate and they've never gone over their estimated price for me. How the Big O Tires next door gets any business at all is a mystery to me, as Xpress consistently beats them on time to make the repair and total cost. I had my driveshaft repaired and rebalanced for $685, which was $300 cheaper than Big O quoted me. I go to this place for everything, and I encourage my family to as well. read more

Great experience all the way around. Wassek is a genuinely kind soul - You can't put a price on being treated in a friendly, humane way. I have a 1964 Buick Electra 225 which initially appeared to have a starter motor solenoid problem. Turned out it was a disconnected relay switch. Rob (mechanic) took me through the process of assessment and handed me back the part I purchased for install. We just moved here from South Dakota, and we are glad we found Wassek and Xpress Automotive. Our van failed emissions test because of no voltage on the DLC connector. It took the mechanics less than 15 minutes to find the solution - 3 blown fuses! A simple and inexpensive repair and our van passes inapection. We also had them source and replace the gas cap and change the oil. Prompt, courteous, friendly, and honest. What more could you need from a hometown local automotive repair shop? John and his crew are very knowledgeable and professional in helping customers solve issues with their cars. I took my car in recently for a check engine light issue. They diagnosed the problem and put a new pump in. The pump they put in failed and I had to bring it back. However, John not only installed a better pump, he fixed an issue that I was having with my thermostat, no charge.
