    Grilled pork fresh rolls
    Samantha C.

This new Vietnamese cuisine restaurant opened up not too long ago and we've finally got the chance to try it. Came here on a Wednesday evening around 7:30pm and it wasn't too busy. As it got later, it did get more full though. The interior has aesthetic decor and there are about 6 booths that can fit 4 people as well as some other small tables. Since we were one of the first tables, service was really quick. We got our food within 10 minutes. We ordered the fresh spring rolls with grilled pork, the bun bo hue house special vermicelli. The owner was super nice to us and let us try the iced coffee, which was really good. Probably our favourite of the meal! The bun bo hue came with blood curd, vietnamese ham, rare beef and another kind of meat (not sure). It was good, but we wish it was spicier! Maybe it's to accommodate people's spice levels, so we'll ask if we can get some more spice next time. The special vermicelli came with grilled pork, grilled chicken, spring roll and sausage. The flavour was also good, but more on the mild side. Both dishes were average size and the price was pretty average as well. They take credit card and cash. Not sure about debit. If you pay cash, you might get a discount. Happy we have a new Vietnamese place in this area! We like it better than some others we've tried around here.

Their delicious KamJaTang Jeongol, aka Korean Pork Bone Soup, and their BBQ Pork Chops, are perfect for warming you up. Dining with my aunt and uncle, we had the large version of the soup, served in a big pot on a burner at the table. It was loaded with lots of meat, potatoes, vegetables, and tons of flavour. As good as it was, it was more than we could finish so they topped up the soup and we took home the leftovers. The pork chops were served on a sizzling platter, nice and hot. It was delicious! We barely managed to finish this one. Both dishes were perfect for the cold weather, and included rice and traditional side dishes - kimchi, bean sprouts, pickled radishes, and pickled cucumbers. As usual, the service was excellent - friendly and efficient. They also offer a 10% discount for paying cash. Check them out at Kingston Rd and Liverpool, in Pickering.

I came specifically for pork bone soup and my husband opted for the bibimbap. Both dishes were delicious, well prepared and presented beautifully with ample serving size. There is a fair amount of seating at this restaurant and I have no doubt it fills up quickly during the evening. The service was excellent and will definitely have to come back soon.

We went there many times, but after ordering last night. Chicken roti, and goat roti I will never go back there again. The sauce was runny watery hardly any chicken lots of potato. When my plate arrived, I got coleslaw instead of steamed vegetables, but I was super hungry, and I'm not opposed to coleslaw, and the place was really busy, and the poor server was by himself serving all the tables, so I didn't say anything and just ate my food. I was so pleasantly surprised when the server brought me a separate plate of steamed veggie, since the kitchen had made a mistake. They had realized this without me saying anything. I got the Jerk Chicken mild, because it was my first time at Beryl's and I didn't know how hot, hot would be. I enjoyed the mild, it was flavourful with a slight spicy kick. I may try the hot next time. The chicken was moist and tender and I loved every bite. The rice and beans were a bit on the dry side in my opinion, but this was ameliorated by pouring the little container of gravy I got on the rice. The coleslaw was just ok (I'm not a huge fan of coleslaw, but I will eat it). It wasn't too wet, nor too sour. The steamed vegetables were good. Nothing was too mushy and I liked the variety of vegetables (carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, and red, yellow and green bell peppers). I like that they were just steamed and not buttered nor drenched in oil. I had a taste of my husband's roti, and while I'm not the biggest fan of goat, I thought it was tasty. The goat pieces were not as tender as I like, but still delicious and not gamey. I found the amount of goat to be good, and the filling also contained potatoes, but there was definitely more goat than potatoes. Service was very courteous and friendly (I didn't catch his name, but he was the young Asian guy). The decor is simple, but it's clean and bright. They have a restaurant section and a takeout section. You cannot buy takeout and eat it in the restaurant, the restaurant is for full-service only. They have signage indicating such. They have daily specials, but not on weekends. They are licensed and serve alcohol. They are in a plaza with lots of free parking. I am rarely ever in Pickering, but if I found myself there and hungry, I would return to Beryl's Pepper Pot.

The ambiance of this place has a feeling of sophistication, with a tropical flair that extends to their patio out front. That feeling also extends to their service and food - both outstanding! My meal started with a delicious salad that included spinach, blueberries, mango, tomato, feta, and more. It was a delicious blend of flavours and a great start to a meal. For my main course, I chose the Traditional Curry Goat Dinner, served with rice & peas, festival, fried plantain, and corn. It was served in a cast iron skillet on a wooden charger. The presentation was unexpectedly different, beautiful and totally awesome! Great impression! It was also delicious, with tender pieces of meat, rich flavours, and generous portions. Although I was quite full, I couldn't resist having Chef Glen's house-made ice cream. I chose Grapenut, a flavour I grew up with and is not really mainstream. It was rich, creamy, and delicious! The presentation was also excellent! To wash it all down, I had coconut waster, served in a freshly chopped coconut. Very refreshing! Their regular menu includes Jamaican staples like Jerk Chicken, Oxtail, Ackee and Saltfish, and more. There is also a selection of pasta dishes, soups, salads, and starters that include lobster, shrimps, Ital (vegan) dishes, and specials. For delicious Caribbean cuisine, adult beverages, excellent service, and live entertainment on the weekends, make your way over to Mr Delicious by the Beach, located on Bayly St, east of Whites Rd, in Pickering.
