Any company that would charge for a service that wasn't actually performed, as well as allow their customer to drive an unsafe car, is one to avoid at all costs. I was told they did a minor cleaning of the brakes to reduce the noise, and I was charged a little over $100. Unfortunately, the brakes squeaked exactly the same as when I brought it in. I didn't make a big deal about that since the underlying issue wasn't addressed -- but when I got home, I noticed my hubcaps hadn't even been removed. That really made me question whether any work was actually performed at all. Between the high pricing, the ineffective "fix," and the suspicion that my car may have just sat in the shop while I still paid over $100, I will not be returning here. We show up at 9:00, he takes the Jeep and is done in a little less time than he thought. Deducted $50 and off we went. His waiting room is immaculate, comfortable, air conditioned and very pleasant. If I lived here, I would definitely go back to John at Skyline Auto. He is polite, efficient and a professional.

So I agreed to do both. during work it was discovered that the radiator also leaked so I agreed to replacing that as well. When I met with John to pick the car up he simply handed me my keys and said he wasn't going to charge me for any of the work performed due to the shops inability to correct a new starting issue with the vehicle he suggested that it runs fine and starts perfect most the time, so maybe I just drive it. Suggested I could take it to another shop and diagnose what's wrong with it but really it wasn't a big runability issue. So now I'm thinking what the heck did you do to my car, so I took it to GM in Auburn and paid for diagnosis. John expects that I should be happy with the fact I didn't have to pay for any of the work that he performed on the vehicle. In his mind evidently future repairs which are substantial plus the car I had to rent because this was my daily is all on me, not his problem. Now my car sits in the GM backlot waiting for a camshaft that is backordered for a month or two​. What I would explain as a massive lack of integrity from the shop, because this is not how you treat customers. Aaron 2014 Chevy Cruze 1.8L with 86 thousand miles. What they found was an absolute shocker.. John's shop had broken the exhaust camshaft and then repaired it with what looks to be 5-minute epoxy.. 5 MINUTE EPOXY!

Finally, the noise got more and more frequent and I decided I just couldn't ignore it any longer. I'd have to find a mechanic. But, you know mechanics. I didn't want one who would rip me off. So, I turned to Yelp. Thank you, Yelp! Doug diagnosed that scary noise as my brake caliper (unfortunately), and showed me exactly how it was causing my brake pad to wear down unevenly. Then he got to work fixing my car. In the meantime, I called my father on the east coast (who listens to Car Talk), he agreed with the diagnosis and thought Doug was charging me a fair price for brake caliper replacement and a brake fluid flush. While he had my car, Doug did a full safety inspection which gave me peace of mind that when I drove out of there, my car was in great working order and Doug even gave me some tips for things like my next oil change. All in all, I felt like not only did I get my car repaired at Simply Auto, I found a mechanic I can trust in Doug and a place that I know that I can go back to the next time I have a problem. And that's a pretty valuable thing.

When I got my car back I noticed that some of the things that I asked for were not done and I was still being charged $69. On the paperwork Tony put in the wrong oil when I confronted him about it he acknowledged that he didnt do the things I ask and then refunded some of the money. As for the oil change which cost $98, he says the paper is wrong and he did the oil change. But he never reset the computer..still says 50% oil and never put a "next service date" sticker. So how am I suppose to believe him. As for the struts he kept pulling up something that wouldn't even fit on my car. Also during that time he repositioned my license plate without my consent to the center when I like mine on the left side. I kept calling to speak with the owner, Doug and Tony always answers and tells me he isn't available. I'm writing this review to let everyone know that this mechanic is not knowledgeable or trustworthy. I will not be bringing my car back to this place.
