It's been a while since I've been here. Still received excellent customer service. Both ladies were very courteous. I had the bourbon jerk chicken wings. I luckily came in during happy hour (4pm to 7pm) and got a $5 lemon drop martini which complimented the wings just fine. The wings and fries were very delicious. And so was the lemon drop. I went to Yaba's twice while in LaPlace. The first time, I found them on Yelp and told the family, and one mentioned her daughter had tried and loved it. So we drove to the nearby city to try it. It was a quick 15 minute drive. We walked into a chill spot. There were seating tables, a couple pool tables to the left, and a pretty full bar straight ahead. When we got closer to the counter, they greeted us cheerfully and playfully. Like we played cards last night.. and won. The menu had a few things I wanted but their prices are not for the neighborhood they settled in but whatever. I decided I was most definitely getting Jack'd Up Shrimp and Fish Plate, while the family grabbed a Shrimp Burger. The wait was decent.. 10-15 minutes. I didn't try the Shrimp Burger. The Jack'd Shrimp are like chargrilled shrimp, with lots of melted cheese, bacon, and jalapeño, and a side is super buttery grilled French bread slice. The shrimp were ah-mazing! The fish was just ok. Nothing stood out about it. Kinda bland actually. The second time I visited, they gave me the same energy upon entering. I ordered food before I got on the road to head back to TX. This time I get a yakamein and shrimp and fish plate. So the yakamein was really good! The meat was tender and well-seasoned. The broth was very tasty. I love seafood (as my profile says) and I was trying to eat somewhat healthy like while visiting. It was still bland. I enjoyed the shrimp more than the fish. Only ate a few fries both times. In the end, I'd definitely visit again. Just have to switch up and try something new. read more

passing by on the way to Texas and couldn't seem to find anywhere worthy to stop and have a meal. Hard to find good places with a variety of menu items the whole family will eat. Yaba's did not disappoint. There's something for everyone. The food came out fast, service was super friendly. Food was extremely fresh and fish was on point. Passing by I wouldn't have ever thought I'd run into a treat like I did. The outside doesn't look the most inviting as it looks more like a store but once you're in, the place is nice and clean on the inside. The menu options were really nice. I decided to settle on the Jack'd Up Shrimp and I also ordered some bourbon wings with loaded fries (my eyes were bigger than my belly). Everything came out hot and fresh! The shrimp were great as they're prepared like chargrilled oysters! The wings were nice and crisp and the sauce was soooooo good. I'll definitely be back...probably tomorrow. I've been here twice and I've really liked it both times! The first time I got the fish platter and the second time I got the burger and they were both great. When we came in and asked the guy what was good he told us everything and he wasn't kidding! The menu was pretty large and the service was quick. Found this place without the help from Yelp. Was driving on the road and pulled in for lunch. Well, Yaba's is brand new and the owner explained that they've only been open a couple months. First thing to order are a dozen of their Broiled Oysters loaded with cheese, bacon, and jalapeño pepper. This runs a fair price of $18.99. The oysters were medium sized but what a great flavor all the ingredients made. Also I went with a Shrimp Po Boy sandwich on a delicious thick roll. The shrimp were huge and perfectly breaded to perfection. Very large sandwich and came with fries. Menu has many different seafood plates and sandwiches plus hamburgers and chicken. A cold case there has plenty of beverages and a good cold beer selection. I noticed that they also had a full bar there. Owner mentioned that Daiquiris were coming soon. Service was very good and friendly and the place was kept clean. We sat up at the bar but small two seat tables are also available. Coming back? Next time I visit Garyville or Reserve I m totally down to grab lunch here again! Enjoy Yelpers.....new spot read more

I travel for a living and hate chain places so I use Yelp to help find local gems, this is definitely one if those! I was torn so I went with 1/2 doz jacked oysters and 6 wings with the honey habanero and 6 of the Jimmy Jazz and everything was great. We happen to be in the neighborhood and found Yaba's on Yelp. When we first walked in, i started to doubt my decision. The inside is a little rough around the edges but i am so glad i didn't judge that book by it's cover. The young guy behind the counter was as tentative and helpful as he can be and took great care of us. I ordered the hot bourbon wings and fries. Although the fries lacked a little seasoning, the wings were the absolute best i've ever had. They seem to be fried without the use of flour or cornmeal which i believe makes them extra crispy. The sauce was thick without being sticky and clung to the wings just right. The hot bourbon sauce actually taste like a smokey bourbon not like when you buy a "bourbon" BBQ sauce at the grocery store. The wings were so good, I've been thinking about them for three days. We live about 30 minutes away but will definitely make more trips to Yaba's in the very near future. Don't let this place fall of your radar, it's a must try. read more

We order takeout from here so much, it's kind of embarrassing, but the food is sooo good! The chicken wings are GREAT & I recommend the stuffed bacon and cheese burger as well as the philly cheesesteak. My gf loves the cheeseburger fries.
