Every time I come in here for lunch, the line at the counter is long and there's a good chance there won't be many empty tables. But the counter service is quick and you won't have to wait long. The full-size po-boys are massive. If you get a Ferty (roast beef, ham, Swiss cheese), bring a construction crew to help you eat it, or be prepared to be eating leftovers for two or three days. I love a good shrimp po-boy, but it's usually too big for me. I have landed on the Shrimp on a bun as a fantastic alternative. It's so overstuffed with shrimp you can't eat it without them falling out. And it is perfectly dressed with just the right amount of lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mayonnaise. And the fries! We went for lunch today at Mabile's. My lunch was delicious. When you go in you order first. They give you a ticket with your number. When they call your number you go pick it up at the counter. If you order a drink you can choose a fountain drink or what's in there cooler. My husband had a burger and fries. They give you a nice portion of fries. We ate there. Everything was nice and clean. Monday-Friday each day they have a lunch special. Thursday lunch special is what I had. Hamburger steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, peas and French bread. They serve you a nice plate. They sell Hubig's pies so we had to buy each one for dessert. Can't wait to go be back!!! read more

For starters I'll give congrats to any business been in service since the 80s and still going strong. The moment I walked in you can see the customers were definitely regulars and the spot was a meeting ground for people to share a meal with. A lot of friendly talk and smiles so the atmosphere was family friendly. The staff were EXTREMELY nice and smiled with every word, that means a lot especially during the lunch hour. I ordered the seafood combo plate. I must say the portions are INSANE!!!! The food came out fresh and fried to perfection! However, the food lacked soooo much flavor. The fish and shrimp couldn't be told apart if u broke apart catfish in chunks and chose blindly there's no difference in the taste. I'm sure the seasoning is in the batter but we're almost in the Mecca of Louisiana there has to be more spice than what was on my order. Just a little more love on the seasoning and it'll be a hit!! Forgot to take photos of the food but my family of four all had delicious sandwiches. When we came here we found this place purely off of Yelp as we're coming back from a plantation tour outside of New Orleans and everyone had a fantastic meal. Stopped in while in the area this week. It was a Monday so I ordered the daily Monday special (red beans and rice of course). The red beans were lacking in flavor. Was not impressed. My sister had a shrimp poboy and it was much better than my red beans (I always eat my sister's leftovers). They use Leidenheimer bread for their poboys which is great bread! Service was pretty fast and the place is your typical mom and pop type restaurant. Those are actually my favorite types of restaurants. Love laid back no-frills local restaurants. Menu consists of mainly poboys but they also have salads, seafood plates, daily lunch specials, and they also make muffalettas. Alright y'all, i think I've found the best poboy in Louisiana at this little gem of a place in Laplace! Last Friday, i landed in New Orleans around lunchtime. If you've ever been to Louisiana during lent you know that any place serving fish is going to be steady packed. I'd done some research and decided this was the spot I was stopping at. Sure enough upon walking in there was a good number of folks in line and waiting for their order. I knew this was a good sign that I'd picked well. I ordered my poboy and found a place to wait. About 20 minutes later, it was ready and let him tell you that this shrimp and fish poboy was well worth the wait! Small local mom and mom restaurant. Clean, quaint, and great fried seafood platters and/or poboys. I ordered a catfish platter and a catfish poboy for my daughter. The food was hot and fresh when received as I had called the order In previously. The cashier was nice and the signage was nicely displayed. She went over the new credit card policy with me and walked me through the process. While we didn't dine in, and had the food to go, I certainly would. The cashier also answered the phone promptly, was easy to understand, and didn't place me on hold for a long time like I've experienced at other places. Nice little find on The Airline in Laplace. I've passed this place mannnnny mannnnyyy times before & shamefully this was only my 2nd time visiting. Here for a quickie lunch with my friend & mentor, CynthiaYvonne; I opted for the fried shrimp po-boy. The bread was that crunchy, make a mess in your lap French bread, I'll have to remember that for when Granny returns; and I had a soda & a few fries. Ms Cynthia had a roast beef au jus, fries & a soda; ohhhhh and FYI, the fries are enough to share, because after all "sharing is caring...". I got the 7.5 inch po-boy and only ate half, I shouldn't have eaten those chips prior to lunch. Shucks!!!! Anywhoooo... Entering the establishment, it feels really "homey", truly like a mom & pop restaurant and now that I'm thinking of it, I think it is. Great local restaurant. I finally did the smart thing and called ahead for a plate lunch. I did not regret it. I had the Friday plate special (shrimp stew) which comes with potato salad and corn. Everything was absolutely delicious. The portion size was large enough to not eat it in one sitting. That's a okay with me because I'm looking forward to supper to eat the other half .
