When I asked about it, I was told they would call me to address it. I never received a call so I called and to "amend" things they gave me a $150 credit - which isn't even half of the amount I was overcharged. I had upper and lower Blepharoplasty. I look amazing! I wish I had pictures - maybe I can get some from Dr. Halaas but check her website. Everyone of the staff supported and helped me tremendously. Went for my first time last week for my lip fillers. As soon as you walked into the office I felt comfortable. Super clean and trendy office. I went in for a hair consultation and ExoFlo treatment. While the day of the treatment things went well. This review is in regards to my experience with the office after receiving treatment. My medical insurance provides reimbursement of treatments/services paid out of pocket from out-of-network doctors. When trying to obtain the physicians information, their office members were not forthcoming in providing the Tax ID and NPI number of this doctor. I had to speak with the director of patient care who then also was being resistant in providing me the information. He needed to "confirm" with the doctor. Dr. Halaas confirmed the CPT code for the treatment given to me but also provided inaccurate information on her TAX ID and NPI Code. The email from Jonathan also reflect a number that was not to their office. I follow up with my insurance company and was informed that the TAX ID of this doctor and NPI did not match. I highly question this physicians status and what she is actually licensed to practice and service. read more

Two women of color were left ignored and disregarded for nearly an hour, while a white woman who came in AFTER was able to be served and treated like a queen. I saw Dr. Halaas for a series (2) of Kybella Injections for axillary fat (bra roll). I was very self conscious about this area and Dr. Halaas and her team provided the perfect solution. The procedure was relatively quick as Dr. Halaas works with confidence in her execution. This procedure requires multiple injections which were actually very easy to tolerate because of Dr. Halaas's focus. The minor pain that was felt was alleviated both pre-procedure and during with help from the staff. I was able to relax for as long as I needed afterwards to feel comfortable before leaving the offices. I had an appointment with Dr. Halaas 3 weeks ago in the Scarsdale office. For starters, the 10 minutes she spent with me were actually me sitting in a chair while she reorganized Tupperware due to her "type A personality". She then ran off and her coordinator Jonathan came down to say he'd email me that day his contact info, pricing, scheduling and photos of before and after photos since they aren't on the site for the procedure I was considering. I never heard from anyone. I called 3 times, I've emailed twice and I even posted on their instagram page. There was no delay on charging my card $200 to go towards a procedure but then they vanished. If this doesn't get me my refund, next stop is the better business bureau. Find another doctor. If a practice isn't reliable, trustworthy and accountable do you really want to entrust them with medical/procedure related things. Reprehensible. I feel the need now to respond to the offices below comment - spare me. If anyone wants me to fwd the multiple unanswered emails, the apology from Jonathan almost THREE weeks later, happy to provide. No! Don't do it. Unresponsive to follow up inquiries after taking consultation fee. The office staff is extremely accommodating when you are a new client inquiring of an expensive procedure but once they've pitched you on a high end treatment they no longer respond to inquiries for anything less costly despite advertising their consultation fee as applicable towards any future service. She did Silhouette Instalift threads for me -- the procedure wasn't painful at all, and the recovery was minimal. Finding them was a happy accident via Gilt, but I could not be happier with my decision to schedule an appointment with them. Mariesa, the RN, was patient, sweet, and knowledgeable as she answered my 100 questions before getting started. She took copious notes and had took her time understanding my wants, but more importantly, was incredibly friendly and kind. I was only scheduled to see Mariesa, but she kindly pulled Dr Halaas in for a quick consult on a completely different matter, which I thought was really nice. Dr Halaas is sensationally warm, has a great demeanor, and was thoroughly informative. She spent 15 minutes going through my Facebook photos with me looking at pre and post rhinoplasty pictures to decide whether reconstruction was necessary - how nice was that! The office and staff are very nice, but I have to say I was a bit disappointed. I've had my lips done before and had minimal swelling and no bruising. The second I left the office this time the entire right side of my face was bruised and swollen. I could not return to work as people on the street were asking me if I was ok. I know the lips are very vascular and this can happen so I did not stress. It took about two weeks for the swelling and bruising to go down. Now a little over a month out and my top lip is not exactly even. Also, when I smile I have little lumps on the bottom of my top lip that push against my teeth and are not crazy visible, but definitely noticeable to me. I would not say it was a terrible experience, but I also would not go back again. I would instead return to my original Doctor, who is out of state, but did not give me any of these issues. read more

My experience with Dr. Halaas' office was excellent. I was visiting a (girl)friend in New York and she already had an appointment, so I decided to tag along. The girl at the front (I think her name was Erika?) was really nice and funny while we were waiting. Being a very curious person, I was asking her some questions regarding how many men they typically see. I'm at that age where my years in the sun and frowning are starting to take a toll and wrinkles/lines are starting to stay on my forehead. After some encouragement from my friend (and a new patient special they had available) I decided to give Botox a try! One of the most painful cosmetic experiences!! The non-invasive procedure - Vanquish ME - was sold to me by Dr. Halaas' nurse as a way to avoid the knife. Instead, I was over treated and my skin was burned. Dr. Halaas prescribed heat compresses, rest and a generous credit for remaining treatments (you're lucky I dont sue)... After a week of being unable to sit, lie down or walk without pain I rushed myself to the emergency room where I learned of my burns and was prescribed pain medication and COLD compresses (heating a burn is a no-no apparently). When this doctor realized that my injuries were real... finally got a call from her. It's unfortunate that it takes first degree burns and unresolved scar tissue to get anyone's attention at this office. Shame on you I thought you were better than that. Update: The doctors response was unfortunate. She provided erroneous corrective methods (e.g. applying heat to a burn) and did not make herswlf available to address the issue. Why would anyone go back to endure more unprofessionalism and receive improper care. If they got a non-invasive treatment so wrong I can't imagine the outcome of an invasive procedure. read more

Some 12 years ago I considered having my lower eyelids done. A friend from business and I decided to see Dr Halaas because she came highly recommended. I looked up her stats and made an appointment. I was very nervous, but from the moment of my first consultation through the surgery she performed, she exuded her professionalism and warmth. I made an appointment for Blepharoplasty on my upper lids and that was the beginning of a wonderful relationship. Although her work was excellent I did have some puffiness under my eyes for longer than I expected. I'm quite certain it was nothing Dr. Halaas did incorrectly. She had called to see how I was feeling and I had mentioned the puffiness. She scheduled an appointment immediately and resolved the problem, which was minor, at no extra cost to me. Since that time, I have had various fillers done with total exuberance. I enjoy seeing her on many levels. She is upbeat, the office is immaculate and professional, and I never feel like just a "number". Recently I had Juvederm Voluma done. Since I bruise quite easily, when I left the office I could not tell what a difference it made. Dr. Halaas and her staff are top notch. In July 2013 I had upper and lower blepharoplasty in her office's surgical suite. The experience was positive from beginning to end, and I have recommended her to friends who've expressed an interest in facial cosmetic procedures. Upon meeting with Dr. Halaas I was impressed by her human, down-to-earth style. She is warm, friendly and engaging. We discussed my face in detail and while I'd only wanted to have my lower eyelids done, she pointed out that my right upper eyelid was pretty droopy and I should consider having my upper eyelids done too. While upper eyelid surgery appealed to me, I was concerned about forming keloids (thick raised scars) as a result. Dr. Halaas assured me that keloids are extremely rare after upper blepharoplasty and that she has yet to see that phenomenon in her practice. Encouraged by her expertise and confidence, I decide to have upper and lower eyelid surgery. Fortunately my eyes have healed beautifully and I have no keloids whatsoever. Lately people comment more than ever on what beautiful eyes I have.
