Food: This is an excellent Yemeni cafe right outside of the 45th Street subway station in Sunset Park. The food and drinks are amazing, and I would highly recommend you try this cafe. They offer a variety of coffees, teas, cold drinks, sandwiches, toasts, salads, small bites, pastries, and brunch items (weekends only). We tried the shakshuka and lamb haneeth sandwich. Both were delicious, and I would recommend them both. The shakshuka is served with two slices of crispy and fresh toast. The shakshuka is served warm with three eggs topped with goat cheese. The lamb sandwich was very flavorful and served on crispy toasted bread with French fries. I can't wait to go back and try all of their other items. I would also recommend their orange blossom lemonade. It's very aromatic with a hint of sweetness. Service: Staff are so pleasant and welcoming. There is a server who brings you your food and clears your empty dishes after eating. Ambiance: The cafe is not big, but they have a good number of tables in the front and back of the cafe. Delicious cardamom brown sugar iced latte, I was so glad they were able to do decaf! It was not too sweet at all, which I love, but I liked the lightly spiced flavor. Lots of seating even though it's busy on a weekend, and your order at the counter, they bring it to you pretty quickly. This cafe has surprisingly a lot of seating! I didn't expect there to be a whole back section too and it was spacious. I saw people studying there so seems like the staff doesn't rush you. We tried the sujuk platter $15, fried halloumi $9, lamb stew $17, matcha latte and ali palmer. what's interesting for the drinks is that the menu shows the "starts at" but doesn't give you the price for the larger size so we didn't know there was a larger size until ordering. I've been seeing this spot on Uber Eats for ages, but I've never gotten to try it. My mom and I came here for a quick lunch today, and it was nothing short of delicious! It's the kind of place you go up to the counter to order, but if you're eating in, they'll bring the food right to your table. The staff was friendly, and we got our food very promptly. We both got the Riz Bowl, which was packed full of veggies and spices. It reminded me a lot of Moroccan food. It comes with a side salad, basmati rice, and a spicy green sauce that you can top everything off with. The rice was just as flavorful as the meal itself. Food is always great, but the drinks are always a miss. Never enough sugar in the special drinks, even when you pay extra for a special syrup. Today I tried the new earl grey latte and the tea was so bitter which means it was brewed incorrectly. A nice little coffee shop with both prepared foods and baked goods. They even have their own roasted beans for purchase. There's a good amount of seating, so I was able to have my coffee and a toast to stay. I ordered a flat white with oat milk and a fig toast, totaling around $17.50. The flat white was a bit thin, and the toast was a bit small for the price. The toast had both fresh and dried figs but definitely more dried. The coffee/tea selection is fun featuring options like a maple latte and tahini vanilla chai. I opted for the pistachio cardamom cappuccino and it was solid - not too sweet and pretty tasty! I got the BAT breakfast sandwich and added an egg. Guys, it was delicious. The sourdough was crispy and oily - the turkey bacon wasn't store bought turkey bacon, it was like no other turkey bacon I've tasted. My husband opted for the lamb poutine and loved it. The chicken sandwich reminded me of katsu where they thinly pound the chicken meat. The sauces and the slaw is a good addition. However, I don't think I like pounded chicken in a sandwich. I rather have a thick juicy and crispy chicken. The lamb burger seasoning was good but it was missing some pickled vegetable to lightening up the richness. As you slowly stroll along the rolling incline and sound traffic of 4th Ave, this humble little Yemeni spot draws you in like a moth to a flame. Ive been meaning to set foot into this place for quite some time now, and I am so glad that I finally did. This is a cozy little cafe nestled in a long line of retail spaces on the very busy 4th Ave, right in the heart of Sunset park Brooklyn. Seating is strategically placed so the space feels open and cozy all at once. Staff is super friendly and ordering is fairly simple. I came in during the morning so I decided to give the chicken and waffles a try with a side of the spiced yemeni black tea which is my favorite. The tea was pretty standard, I wish they offered honey to add as a source of sweetness, but sugar did the trick. The chicken and waffles were pretty good, I liked that the chicken breading was seasoned properly, however, I will say that the amount of chicken was way less than what it should be. The chicken piece was also very thin and so in the frying process it became chewy and hard. The waffle was pretty standard, a little bit more on the doughy side, and I personally like crispy light textured waffles. The pairing was good with the syrup, but I do wish that they also offered some sort of softened butter on the side. I'm excited to try other things on their menu, especially the fried chicken sandwich and the lamb sandwich. If you're in the neighborhood, make sure to come check this place out. read more

Super crowded today - could barely snag a table and I could see why! The food and service is phenomenal. On Friday - Sundays, they have a brunch menu. I got the lamb stew which turned out to be delicious albeit the portion size is a little small. The pieces of lamb and okra were my favorite. The bread that it came with (reminds me of a roti but less crispy and more doughy). We also got the chicken samboosas which were flavorful and delicious. The salsa / dip it came with a little spicy. As for the drinks: pink panther latte (can skip, although it looks so cute, it just kind of tastes milky) and the orange blossom lemonade was so so good. TLDR: the lamb sandwich could use a bit more flavor but the coffee is incredible and the chicken sandwich is perfect. I'm particular about my coffee (needs to be sweetened but can't be overly sweet, needs to have the perfect milk to espresso ratio, etc) and this hit every checkmark. My dining partner got the fried chicken sandwich and I got the lamb sandwich (which came recommended from the counterperson). Both came with a side of fries and the portion sizes were big. The chicken sandwich had a lot of great flavors and was a good balance of light but savory. My lamb sandwich had a really great, tender texture but could have used more flavor. It tasted a bit like a meat stew with onions to flavor it when I wish I could've tasted more spices. Super filling though and in general a great meal. The food came to our table quick and everyone was very kind. The staff gave us great recommendations and are super relaxed. Modern remote work cafe with a middle eastern influence. We came for dinner around 6 pm to find most of the tables occupied by folks working. We placed our order and snagged a table in the back room. Seemed like outlets were plentiful throughout. There was also a communal table in the back with a projector above it. We ordered the halloumi fries, the fried chicken sandwich, and the lamb sandwich. Halloumi fries were a middle eastern take on the beloved mozzarella stick. They were less gooey as expect with halloumi but a bit nuttier and richer as expected with a fried halloumi. They had a thicker (possibly panko) breading. Both sandwiches were great and they came with hand cut fries which were excellent. My wife preferred the lamb sandwich but I don't think you could go wrong with either. Lamb sandwich came with a green sauce which complimented the lamb and allowed the lamb flavor to show through. Chicken sandwich was crispy and topped with a generous amount of slaw, Chipotle Mayo, and pickles. Food was ready quickly. Instead, save your money for something else unassuming-- may I present the "Lamb Poutine"! I know, I don't know what compelled me to get it either as it seemed to be a throwaway item on the menu, like fish at a diner, but this dish has forced me to bypass the part of my brain that refuses to pay for delivery. It's on the savory side, so perfect for hangovers. The lamb is just absolutely drenched in flavor. All the complex mysticism of Yemenese spices, slathered onto silky strips of lamb. This was one of my favorite coffee shops in NY! The pita pocket with the grilled sausages was perfectly put together. The spicy mayo drizzled on top was soo good. Definitely recommend the pita pocket! The coffee was so delicious-- I got a custom lavender and cardamom brown sugar latte and it was just sweet enough to taste both the lavender and cardamom (like a minty lavender). The cafe had plenty of space to study and do work. The baristas were so kind in taking away our plates and also providing recommendations to the menu. The shakshuka is perfectly spiced and the sourdough (I think) bread was so good I almost ordered another round. The lamb poutine is chefs kiss and who doesn't like potatoes with cheese and gravy? I didn't try the lamb haneeth sandwich but I was told it was a solid choice. Tip for people who haven't gone before, you can sit at any table that's not taken, there's also more seating in the back of the restaurant, and then you scan the QR code on the table to order.
