We had a girls day out and decided to visit Reminiscent for their candle making class. You can either purchase tickets ahead of time on their website or walk in to the class if there are spots available. It was a very nice experience! The ambiance was chill and relaxing with the whole vibe of the class being 90s R&B and Hip Hop inspired. We were able to pick the glassware for the candle, there is one type included and for a slight up charge you can pick a larger vessel for your candle. The class is relatively simple and Ashley (the awesome owner) will walk you through the process of picking a scent, naming your candle, and then step by step creating your own unique candle. Once the class is completed it takes about an hour and a half for the candle to be ready for pickup. The shop is located in an area with tons of restaurants and other stores so it's a good idea to walk around or grab food while you wait. There is also a shipping option. The first time I went, we made our candles, then did some black culture trivia which was really fun. Make sure you team up with a group who is up on black movies, music and entertainment! The second time I went, we made candles, then sang karaoke; we had a blast! On my third visit, we made our candles, but ran out of time and weren't able or engage in other activities unless we paid an additional fee. Store staff were highly engaged with customers, really helpful and in good spirit. I forget the name of the young lady who helped me, but she was very upbeat and made it seem like working there was the hallmark of her career! See what I did there? Hallmark! I bought some really cute Christmas stuff on sale. Great experience, highly recommended, will be back!

The lighting is dim, and there wasn't any music playing. I'm not a fan of Muzak by any means, but I thought that most stores had some sort of background music to put customers in a buying mood. Most importantly, the furniture was just not that great. Nothing made an impression on us, and the prices, though mid-point, seemed a bit high compared to the quality. On the plus side, the sales associate who talked to us was very helpful and not pushy at all.
